Publisher's summary

Grounded, Book 3 in the Up In The Air Trilogy. James and Bianca's story draws to a close in the explosive conclusion to the Up In The Air Trilogy. After a short but earnest courtship, Bianca can no longer deny her feelings for James, and though she's tried her hardest, she can't help but see that he cares deeply for her, as well. In a completely uncharacteristic move, she has put aside her misgivings and agreed to live with the enigmatic billionaire.

Is her leap of faith the beginning of something wonderful, or is it too much, too fast? As James and Bianca feel a growing need for each other that neither can deny, circumstances beyond their control intervene, trying to tear them apart. Amid the ever mounting threat of a monster who wants Bianca dead, and the constant pitfalls of an indiscreet past that James can't seem to escape, can these two passionate lovers manage to find their happily ever after?

And the story continues!

OK, This one was a little long and very descriptive. A lot of what was written could have been omitted and the story would be shorter with the same outcome. I am in love with the characters so I'll give this one a 4 star. The narrator was the best. She really saved the series! Loved it.

Beautiful finish

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I love Elizabeth Powers' voice throughout the performance, and found myself enjoying the audio as much, if not more so, than reading the book alone. This series is one of my all time favorites, but the positive, up-beat pitch in Powers' performance really pushed it over the top for me.
James and Bianca are two of my favorite characters, and their story is so arresting. I have read this series numerous times, and I still fall in love with them each and every read through.

Worth a credit? 👍🏻

The story of Bianca and James comes to a conclusion in Grounded - Book 3 of the Up In The Air series by R.K. Lilley. Bianca finally admits to herself that she actually does love James, and it’s no surprise that he feels the same. With her budding art career and the looming bankruptcy of the airline she works for, Bianca finds it easier to make the leap of faith that James has been wanting her to make.

Although it seems everything is going right in their lives, there is still a real threat, to not only to this new relationship, but also to Bianca’s life. It doesn’t help that Bianca resists James’ overprotectiveness in the form of a security team. Her resistance tends to bring Mr. Cavendish out, and we all know what that means. 😏.

This final installment is definitely 👍🏻 worth using a credit since it neatly ties up the story in a beautiful cashmere scarf!🧣 😉 I was a little worried that there wasn’t time, but R.K. Lilley did it!

P. S. - Don’t miss R. K. Lilley’s Mr. Beautiful as a stand-alone companion book narrated by Jason Clarke giving us the Up In The Air story from James’ POV and also some of the other men from the book. I’m off to listen to it now! 🎧

Perfect ending to an amazing love story

I absolutely adored this whole series but this last book brought it to a close with an epic bang! I have read ALOT of the similar books in this category and the writing style and specific details given through every interaction in this series had my imagination soaring and reaching new heights.

The one awful thing about the writing is the over used statement "I gasped". It was so bad that it stuck out like a soar thumb every time it was said and I literally cringed when hearing it. It almost made me stop after the first book but thankfully the amazing depths of the story out shined the terrible clashing of the over used statement.

All in all, I would recommend this book to all who love a great, difficult, romance. It is well worth every penny spent on this book.

Flawless.

I found this serial, Up In The Air, flawless. This third and final instalment from Bianca’s point of view, GROUNDED, is as good as the first two entries.

The combination of the writing of RK Lilley and the delicious voice characterisations by Audible’s Elizabeth Powers kept my brain blissfully engaged (even with a downright dominating hero, James). Bianca’s relationship with James deepens and their intimacy is a whole other fascinating level of voyeurism for me. It’s because instead of words, they use their intimate moments as a form of communication. In this novel, it’s clear James and Bianca love one another, but some hurdles need to be overcome to enable the free expression of that love.

Bianca’s platonic relationship with her best friend, Stephan is also a thing of beauty to watch out for. What woman doesn’t want a best friend with such unwavering loyalty and love? There is one (of a few) exceptional chapters in the book told from Stephan’s point of view – a total surprise to me as the whole series so far has been told from Bianca’s view. At first, I was taken aback that a male perspective was read out by a female narrator. But she is so good, I soon forgot and really enjoyed it. Stephan’s first chapter was beautiful and romantic and worthy of 5 stars all by itself.

In this book the danger and intrigue haunting Bianca from her childhood finally comes to a head – is it the cause of her inability to commit to James at the rate he longs for? Ah, James, his patience knows no bounds when it comes to winning Bianca’s love. That endeared him to me. Some of the last chapters are from his point of view and he is well written. This gives me the confidence to read book four in this series, MR. BEAUTIFUL, written from James’ point of view.

This series UP IN THE AIR including GROUNDED, is an insight into a dark world of intimacy I find intriguing from a distance (novels); plus it’s an insight into the world of wealth and opulence I find fascinating to read from within, even if it’s fictional. The well-written love and intrigue kept me interested throughout this serial. It’s not for everyone, but I loved it. Recommended.

I'm easy...

Well its true. I thoroughly enjoyed this series but really Sebastian York could read the phone book and I'd be all over it. I will add that I wish there were more by RK to feed my dirty book habit.
