Publisher's summary

Easton Novak is hiding something fearsome inside of him. An unconventional upbringing has turned his inner grizzly into a berserker - one who has all but destroyed his humanity. Being around people isn't easy. Not when he doesn't understand any of their reactions, or half of what they're saying. And if he can convince his alpha he's half-sane, he just might let Easton live. But when the raven from Easton's childhood shows up at his door again, he knows he's slowly sinking into a madness he can't come back from.

She's not real. She can't be.

Raven shifter, Aviana King, is terrified of bears. They're her people's natural enemy, but she hasn't been able to forget the bear cub she befriended all those years ago. Faced with a loveless courtship she doesn't want, she visits Easton just to see if the sparking feelings she felt for him when they were kids are still there. The only problem is, he thought she was just a friendly raven all those years ago, and now he doesn't recognize her human form at all. But as she searches for the courage to approach him and his terrifying Gray Back Crew, it becomes clear that the sweet silver bear cub from her childhood has grown into a powerful, dominant, barely-controlled monster grizzly.

Now, the greatest threat to Aviana's life is the man she loves.

He isn't Easton Novak anymore. He's Beaston.

Content warning: explicit love scenes, naughty language, and piles of sexy shifter secrets. Adult-only bear-shifter romance.

Gray Backs Beast

I’ve really fallen hard for these shifters and I truly thought that Easton wasn’t redeemable after Willa. *no spoiler* but I find that this book, and getting a peek into his past, explains why he is who he is and gives you the chance to fall for him.

Avianna was this missing piece that Easton had in his life that he didn’t know he could have. You can tell Easton never thought about a future with a white fence and a funny mate but Anna fills that role and shows him how much he needed that.

As always, Mackenzie Harte does a great job bringing characters to life and helping us fall in love with them. Shout out to her greatness.

Beaston

Well this was sure a heartbreaking story... to know what Easton went through as a boy. Made me cry on several scenes...I am just so happy he found his crow and his other half.
T.S.Joyce and Mackenzie Harte did a super awesome job on this book
Oh and he is not Easton... he is Beaston

Best Book In The Series!

Rating: ❤❤❤❤❤
Heat Rating: 🔥🔥🔥
Narrator Performance: 🎧🎧🎧🎧

For me this was the most anticipated book in the Gray Back Bears series. I've always found something endearing about Easton. He always had the best intentions even if he did the wrong thing. Yeah he was wild and couldn't control his bear but he was also very sweet. Finally learning his story was rewarding.

Aviana was awesome. As timid as she was she still went after her scary bear. Her devotion to him was fantastic.

Best book in the series. The perfect finale. (The next two books in the series are complete standalones and feature Gray Back tertiary characters so they're not part of the main series as far as I'm concerned. Book 7 is a Christmas revisit to the Gray Back's, this couple in particular, and is a standalone as well.)

Harte did her usual great performance. She's always able to draw me right into the story. Her pacing is perfect and never seems to falter. I just wish she would do a little more to differentiate between the different characters.

This book is my favorite of the series.

This book always gives chills because I know how Beaston ties into future stories. This is still my favorite.

One of the best books series

I have read a lot of shifters series but this had my heart. Plus Mackenzie Harte narration is one of the best.

Easton ♥ Aviana!

This is book #4 of #7 in the Gray Back Bears Series, and book #14 of #48 in the Damon’s Mountains Universe Series. This is the story of Easton “Beaston” Novak, and Aviana King, “aka” Easton’s ‘Raven’. She has been watching him from the trees since they were small children. It’s not until the events of this book that she actually meets him in the flesh, but that didn’t stop them from bonding as children. Easton has been my favorite Gray Back since the start of this series. He gets a bad rap but he really is just misunderstood. Throughout this whole series we have learned something new about Easton in every book. He is a bear of many talents, and is deceptively observant for one who often finds himself on the outskirts of both the living and dead. This will fill in the gaps in his time line to round out just who Easton is as man and as a bear. I had high expectations for Easton’ haves mate. Its a common pitfall for me when I get so emotionally invested and attached to a character in a series. I want them to a mater worthy of their uniqueness. Aviana fills this role beautifully. Her loyalty and inner innocence is a true match for Easton’s own. The mental imagery of these two in animal form is strong and brings a smile to my soul. Aviana’s raven expands the lexicon of the bird branch of the shifter kingdom. I know there are more shifter species to come just by looking at the blurbs on the books that follow this one, but I am most curious to see what other “types” of paranormals are yet to come. I wonder if there will be vampires or other fae type creatures that will show up as the various shifters continue to register. And therefore make themselves known. Fingers Crossed 🤞😄! Each of the books in this series have a different mated pair as its focus. HEAs, with an overall story arc so I suggest listening in order for the best experience. The Author and Narrator are the same for the whole series. Both the writing and vocal performance are excellent. This title closes out the Gray Back Crew with a heart felt reveal in the epilogue bringing it all together, even though it is technically not the official end of the Gray Back Bears Series. Easton is the last single bear of the crew, as Clinton changed crews in Book #3. His story will be told in the Boarlander Bears Series. The next 2 books feature what I would call “Adjacent” characters that have Gray Back participating in secondary supporting roles along with the Ashe Crew. No issues with the audio production. I listened at 1.15x speed, because this just sounded best to me at the time. Don't be afraid to experiment. I listened to this through Audible Escape. I read this through Kindle Unlimited.
