Publisher's Summary

If there was such a thing as an urban legend in Cotton Creek, it was Grady Judd. He'd broken the heart of every woman he'd ever kissed, and he'd kissed a plenty. Many tried to rope him, tie him down, and drag him to the altar, but Grady wasn't the marrying kind. In fact, no one was quite sure what kind of man Grady was. He showed up now and again, tended to his ranch, and then would disappear just as fast and never utter a word as to where he'd been when he came home again.

He was a sexy temptation, rolled up in a fine male package, and was all too willing to deliver a night of pleasure. He was also completely unwilling to let anyone inside his impenetrable wall. It was all fun and games or nothing at all.

Until he showed back up in Cotton Creek this time to discover that he's not the only heart breaker in town, which leads to a whole new game and an entirely new question. Could Grady Judd finally have met his match?

Grady and Charli - a good match

I picked the book because of Mr. Bennett's voice, love his warm voice and I think fits Grady's character. Animated and rumbling at times, his voice is a pleasure to listen to. I hope he will narrate the next one in the series too.

This story had quite a lot happening. Loved both Grady and Charli, their chemistry is meshing from the beginning even though they both fight it. Both with military pasts with lots of combat are dealing with PTSD in their own way. I am glad that they finally get their HEA, but their journey is not easy. The story has suspense, some romance, small town gossip, mystery and a touch of paranormal. An enjoyable story, my first from Ms. Stone, will be checking out the others too.

Handsome Hunk Meets His Match

Ciana Stone has once again wtitten a romantic and exciting story with all of the elements that make listening to the audio so enthralling: hot and sexy guy finally meets his female counterpart and the interaction leads to sexy conversations and onto sexy lovemaking. Each has had incidents in their lives that leaves them afraid of commitment so at first it's just all fun and games. Slowly they begin to trust each other and share some scary events that draw them closer together. The narrator Scott Bennett has an exceptional talent in presenting both voices and brings the listener into their minds and hearts. This story will definitely satisfy the listener in many ways and bring the story alive visually in the listener's mind. Great teamwork Ciana and Scott!❤

I love Grady!

Every woman needs a hero like Grady Judd. And every man needs a woman like Charlie. Both takers and leaders. Both with mysterious pasts that would break most people.

I've always enjoyed listening to J. Scott Bennett. His narration of this book is another testament of his skills as narrator.

I requested a copy of this audible free and am thrilled to give my honest unbiased review.

Interesting

I found this an interesting romance from a new author to me. Grady and Charli, the two main characters, were both strong alpha types and both had their demons to fight. There were no graphic love scenes, though there were references to them, including a reference to BDSM. There was a lot to this story and you really needed to listen and pay attention to get the full impact of the story. There were some disturbing and emotional parts but also some sweet ones as well. It’s unfortunate the story ended so abruptly, it would have been nice if there would have been an epilogue. I thought it was fairly well written though and that J. Scott Bennet did a very good job narrating. I received this audiobook for free and am providing an unbiased review.

Sexy with a serious edge

I enjoyed listening to this book, but I thought it was a bit under developed. In the beginning 8 women get into a cat fight over Grady but once he starts dating Charli all the other women just disappear, I can't help wondering what happened to them. The book would have benefited from being 20% longer and using the length to round it out a bit.

That said I did enjoy it, I liked that it touched on PTSD and the tragic fact that far too many of the people who serve in the armed forces and the police end up committing suicide.

The touch of BDSM I found unrealistic, Grady seemed to have a lot of equipment and yet his behavior did not match the behavior of a dom.

I really liked Charli, I loved that she was strong and capable and was also able to rely on other people when she needed help.

The character voices were well done and the tone and pace of the delivery matched the story.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Every Woman Wants Him..Fights Over Him..Then He Disappears

I received a copy for a voluntary and honest review.

This was a difficult book for me to rate and to review. A lot of the plot and explanations regarding Grady slowly are revealed in the story. Why he disappears and how and why he treats women the way is cleared up, but I must say at the end of the story I really disliked him which coors my review. Charli, his first actual love interest, is played through most of the book so he can have her ‘submission’ His room was a bit much...He did this for quite awhile which I found irritating that she allowed this.
I don’t get the paranormal twist..it was unexpected and yet it was a part that resolved some issues for them as a couple. So I’m torn about that aspect.
But I must say I was totally fed up with him in the way he treated Charli at the last couple chapters yet she went along with it. I found Grady selfish, self absorbed and totally insensitive to what she was going through and not even contacting her..and when he finally does it comes off totally for his own benefit...more as a way to use her. Perhaps more information what was going on from his point of view may have helped.
The narrator grew on me and some of the voices appropriate, yet he just sounded too old for some of the characters. Liked he didn’t-do a really flaky voice for the women He was ok.
So since there are aspects of the book I really liked and it did keep me wanting to know what was going to happen I had to go middle of the stars.
