Publisher's summary

The fabulous New York Times and USA TODAY best-selling New Adult author returns with a sizzling, funny, and deeply emotional tale of passion and secrets, deception and forgiveness. A matter of secrets...Undercover cop Logan "Kash" Ryan can't afford a distraction like his new neighbor Rachel Masters, even if she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. To catch a serial killer, he needs to stay focused, yet all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed whose guarded nature intrigues him.

A matter of lies...Deceived and hurt before, Rachel would rather be a single, crazy cat lady than trust another guy, especially a gorgeous, tattooed bad boy with a Harley, like Kash. But when his liquid-steel eyes meet hers, it takes all of Rachel's willpower to stop herself from exploring his hot body with her own.

A matter of love...As much as they try to keep it platonic, the friction between them sparks an irresistible heat that soon consumes them. Can Kash keep Rachel's heart and her life safe even as he risks his own? Will she be able to forgive his lies...or will she run when she discovers the dangerous truth?

Critic reviews

"This first book in a new series by McAdams in the new adult romance subgenre offers a well-developed relationship and genuine romance with plenty of humor as well as scenes of sexual assault and violence. Quickly read and potent, it will leave readers craving the sequel." ( Booklist)
"This novel from 'new adult' author McAdams which mixes together a suspenseful thriller and lighthearted romance, should please fans of both genres." ( Publishers Weekly)

Mysterious and a good romance book

What made the experience of listening to Forgiving Lies the most enjoyable?

I liked that protective side of the story and that not everything was as predictable as I thought originally.

What did you like best about this story?

There were a lot of twists in the story, although I kept finding myself predicting what was about to happen, not everything happened the way I thought it would.

What about Sophie Eastlake and Kris Koscheski ’s performance did you like?

I like the way they portrayed the story and how even with just their voices, I felt a connection between the two of them.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I liked the way they first met, it was different but very likable. I always like the stories where two people meet and it's not the whole "love at first sight" kind of story.

Any additional comments?

Overall it was a great book and I even read the next book as well.

A-MA-ZING! I absolutely LOVED Kash & Rachel!!

I love a book with all my favorite qualities!! Love, sex, suspense, angst, witty banter, smexy times with a tattooed lip ring wearing alpha god, and of course pancakes & sour patch kids all wrapped in one beautifully written package! The book really sucked me in until the very end. However, I wasn't happy to find a BIG fat cliffhanger!! A cliff-hanger that left me wanting the next book immediately! Anyways, moving forward...
Rachel is in her last yr of collage trying to overcome a traumatic experience when she meets her new neighbor. Logan ‘Kash’ is working undercover with his partner Mason, when a case goes bad they find themselves in Austin working a new case with new identities. On this new assignment he and his best friend /partner Mase have to catch a serial killer and they need to stay focused, but all he can think about is the feisty, long-legged coed who lives across the hall. She's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen hands down and all attitude but he loves it. Kash & Rachel start off with a rocky friendship that quickly turns to love. But they are both keeping secrets, and those secrets could tear them apart. The plot was paced very well. I loved Rachel and Kash together, they were adorable. The pair just clicked and they made a perfect couple. It was obvious that there feelings for each other were growing stronger by the day. So, if you want a romantic, yet suspenseful book that will make your heart pound, than this one is for you! Can't wait to tackle book 2 "Deceiving Lies" next!!

Sweet little lies

Well-written story, amazing characters, and extremely heart warming moments. What I dislike her best friend, Candice But more readers agree with me. She’s a bit dizzy, horny and selfish but I guess that’s a good developed character to hate. Lol it’s a tough read but I pulled through it. Suspense romance for sure. This is like a mystery and thriller with a bit of romance kind of plot. So, yes, disturbing events will occur and bare with it. Overall, it was very good especially when I can’t put the book down.

augh cliffhangers!!

I was not expecting that ending! I loved the book and the connection between the two characters but I don't think I will be getting the next book because of how it ended. That is why I only gave four stars.

Hooked

I started backwards with Reed & Emma & was excited to find the story of Reed's parents. I was not disappointed! Kash & Rachel met my expectations & more. The cliffhanger at the end has me excited to continue this journey with them. My only complaint is when the male reader tries to sound like a girl. His attempts annoy me. I can forgive him because his emotional inflection as Kash is good.

Good story!

Great story- a little slow to start but over all really good. Biggest downfall was I wasn’t a fan of the male narrator!
