Publisher's summary

Faith Ansell could never be mistaken for an action hero. The scientist is content in her lab, working with her team on life-changing discoveries. But when a mysterious organization captures her colleagues, she's forced to flee for her life with SEAL Team 7.

Lieutenant Seth "Rawls" Rawlings, ST7's corpsman, hasn't been himself since a near-death experience in the Sierra Nevadas. He's tense and distracted, and the team caught him arguing with himself - loudly. Despite his erratic behavior, Rawls is the only one Faith feels comfortable confiding her life-threatening secret in.

But Rawls has a secret of his own: his wasn't the only spirit to return to the physical plane when he was resuscitated. At first, Rawls assumed the "ghost" he saw and heard meant he was having a complete mental breakdown. But the apparition soon becomes convincingly real, and what's more, he may be the key to the conspiracy looming over them. Rawls had better act quickly because ST7's race to save their reputations - and Faith's life - is on.

suspenseful

Very suspenseful and keeps you engaged with the story. A lot of Amy and Mac in this story when it was suppose to be about Faith and Rawls. Faith is a scientist but doesn't act like it at times which is a quibble on my part. I'm glad all the stories in this series are out so I can binge listen to them otherwise I'd rate this lower as it ends on a bit of a cliffhanger which seems to be standard for this Author in this series.

Better and Better

This story is a perfect mix of military romance, suspense and supernatural. The special abilities that some of the characters possess makes the story more intriguing and keeps me listening.

Luke Daniels does a great job of narrating this story. He brings a different feel and voice to each character. Performance at its best.

Can’t wait to listen to book 4.

It was ok..needed a little more

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I'd recommend the book and the series to anyone who likes military romantic/ suspense. The story line and paranormal references kee the book interesting.

Would you be willing to try another book from Trish McCallan? Why or why not?

I'm willing to finish the series, but if she only writes military/suspense, probably not. Any other books under her belt could be worth checking out.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I believe he's been the same narrator for each book. I enjoy his narration although sometimes the women come off a little more "ditzy" than they probably are meant to be.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Hmm, I would for the paranormal references, but probably not.

Any additional comments?

I'm glad I decided to listen to books 1 & 2 before 3 was downloaded. I would have been a little lost trying to remember everything since its been so long. I'm not sur how I feel about the book. It seemed a little long, the explanation of the devices and how we got to this point are a little convoluted and I didn't feel as though we learned anything worthwhile in this book to get our Seals names cleared or to finally get some Intel on the bad guys. Now, I can work around the whole ghost references , but the machine and its abilities were a little much to take. Given Zane and Kait's abilities I thought Rawls should have been a little more forthcoming about his ghost to the team. We spent a lot of time setting up Mac and Amy's story..we never discussed again what happened to Beth's friend while she's traipsing around the world. The book was ok for me. It could be that it was so long between the last one that I've lost a good chunk of interest, but I'm committed to see it through to the end.

Not as good as first two in series

I love the characters, basic storyline and I’ve loved the psychic abilities in the first two books. However, this one with the ghost and it’s interactions I didn’t care for, and I actually believe ghosts exists and some people can see them easier than others. I’ve really enjoyed Mr Daniels narration, however the singing was way to loud and annoying, but you can tell he has a good voice even thou he was trying to sing like he didn’t. I thought the writing with the singing “99 bottles” sooo many times was way redundant. I’m still looking forward to the next book and still really enjoy Ms McCallen’s writing. Others may really enjoy this one.

Read the first two books first!

The stories and characters in these books hold your interest from the beginning. The narrator is very good making the books even better. I am retired and walking and listening to audio books has kept me moving, thanks to authors like Trish McCallum.
