Publisher's summary

The danger, the chaos, and the lifestyle of the Hellions world has become far too much for Savannah "Sass" Perchton. Swearing off bikers and attempting a "normal" life, she has settled. She pushes away her old life, her old self. She is trying to fit into a mold, to be everything she never was.

He's a playboy - a different chick in his bed, off on a different ride, and always chasing something new. Frank "Tank" Oleander, Haywood's Hellions road chief, will give anything for his club, including his life.

When the fast pace of the Hellions life finally catches up to him, Tank finds himself at a crossroads. He is forced to face some life-changing thoughts or succumb to the darkness of death. Teetering on the brink of giving in, her voice is all he is holding on to. The coma he can't come out of is full of the memories he can't let go of. She's the light in the darkness.

She has left behind everything she has ever known chasing stability. His life literally hangs in the balance. Can she see beyond the chaos to the man behind the cut? Will they find their forever ride?

Contains mature themes.

Study of emotional abuse.

The romance plot in this book takes a back seat to the story of a physically and emotionally abusive relationship.

The romance with a different guy, Tank, doesn't take the lead until just before the end of the book.

Although an interesting view inside the mind of the woman who is gradually stripped of her personality, I would not recommend this book for anyone looking for a hot romance.

SPOILERS...

Sass starts dating a "safe" guy after having her heart broken by her long-time biker friend in the MC. This safe guy is controlling and manipulative but she can't see it. She just slowly gives up her entire life. By telling her how selfish she is for not completely focusing on him every second ("I'm your priority"), safe guy convinces her to give up everything: her parents, the MC, her best friends, her job, her hairstyle, her clothes, and her home. He even disconnects her phone to isolate her. He belittles her in front of people. He monitors and controls everywhere she goes and everyone she talks to. And it continues to escalate to violence.

Sass doesn't get back together with her biker guy until literally 20 minutes before the end of a 6 1/4 hour book.

Trigger warning: It's bothersome that the "safe" guy rapes her and its glossed over and never really mentioned again.

Overall, I was disappointed with this book because I was expecting more positive interaction between Sass and Tank, but I have to give the author credit for the sequences from Tank's perspective when he's in the coma (very engaging) and the study of abuse was well done.

Narration took away from story....

The story was a fairly decent continuance of first book but the narrators didn't make it enjoyable.
Next book is with Jeremy York....cant go wrong with his voice! Will definitely listen.

HORRIBLE VOICE ACTORS

Really REALLLY struggled to read this. Lucy's voice is very whiney and drawn out kinda reminds me of a snooty (Not SASSY) high schooler. And Guy Locke...my god, It was like he was confused on how to bring emotion into this story and really bring it to life. This was just very VERY hard to listen to. The story was really good though! I enjoyed the plot and premise. Very well written.

Okay

It was okay- I do wish it was tanks baby it would have made a better ending.. I honestly didn’t like her- I felt that they were only together a couple of times during the whole book..

That was ruff to listen to

The story was alright, I guess. The narration is a completely different story. I’ve heard little kids read aloud better than these two. The both sounded slow and I don’t mean his speed of speech. It feels like no one listened to them before they published. Shame on the producers.

The story wasn’t all that, but I might be jaded by the performance. Oh well it’s finally over and I can move on. Fingers, toes, and even eyes crossed that the next book is better.

Narration or storyline?

I’m not 100% sure if it was the Narrator, storyline or both, but I didn’t enjoy this book so much. The narrator, Guy Locke, did drive me nuts with his monotone, slow speech and in particular, the way he said,”button”. Equally irritating, to me, is that there was so little of the book dedicated to the time SAS and Tank got together. That’s what I was most interested in. I think the the first part of the book, with the “pretty boy” was an appropriate length and content but the most important part of the book, the H/h’s relationship development, was just glossed over. The book should have been a good three hours longer. It’s too bad, I was looking forward to this couple’s book
After the interaction they had in book one.

The narrator is horrible! I can't stand to listen to the no emotion no feeling narrator. . . . Went ahead and read the book and it was amazing but the narrator I can't even stand for more than a couple of minutes

Never mess with Daddies baby girl

When you threaten an MC president's daughter it's not your smartest move when they find out you have cameras in her apartment you might as well as write your death notice you cannot fight true love it always wins sometimes it takes longer sometimes shorter but true love always wins
