In love with John

I loved John and think this is one of my favorites from the series, Neridia starts as a plain tall girl who eventually becomes an Empress, it was funny and entertaining, I could never have guessed who Jane Doe's try mate was so it was hilarious to find out.
This book is about honor, love and betrayal, Can't wait for the next in series

Awesome Story

I love this entire series. All the characters and the plot come together to make a great even paced story. Didn’t see the plot twist at the end.

I liked the narrator and the pace. I would recommend it to a friend.

Could have been great

I wanted to love it, because I love all of the other books in the series, but this simply dragged on to me. It made John seem extremely naive and gullible, which he did not appear to be when mentioned in the other series. The fact that their mate bond was so strong, yet he could not sense she did not wish to be Empress was not believable. Also why was it so difficult for him to see his Commander true nature. I understand honor, but his should have made it easier to see where his Commander's was lacking. His continual belief in his Commander almost lost him his mate, several times. I find that hard to believe, when mates come before anything. I finished it, but it was difficult too. I kept thinking, "For crying out loud is he really that clueless?"

Enjoy listening to the audiobooks Fire & Rescuer book wish there was more

I first started reading the series, then, discovered the audiobooks and started listening to them. That’s when they came alive more. Just sorry there’s only 4 books that are audio at this time. Going back to reading them are not the same but I still love the series. If you like books that twist & turns, & a little nail biting on edge of your seat action, with some fun loving characters that are bigger then life & some good laughs. These are books for you each one they learn things about themselves & how important family & friends are.

My favorite, though not without its problems

Jon is absolutely swoon-worthy. Him figuring out how to be human is endlessly entertaining. Neridia is smart and kind, and doesn't immediately know how to use her powers. It comes off like she takes too long to grow a backbone, but really, she's just a normal woman thrown into an absurd situation where she is deeply unprepared. She comes off as more realistic/ normal than most paranormal romance heroines.

Also, Neridia is a 6ft+ tall plus size Black scientist, I'd honestly read it just for that.

It's medium burn with light smut. The plot pretty predictable. You'll be able to see the hidden villain pretty immediately, but it's still a fun story.

I LOVED Jon's sister and she actually has her own novella in the Fire & Rescue Shifters: Friends and Family series where she finds her mate. It's called The Sea Dragon's Lion.

Loved the story but…

Love the books and the story line. Wished there were both male and female voices for the characters, however.

Rough read

I thought this book became very muddle. I understand that John 's world is very old and Mystic. Tiles and names became long draw out and hard to read through. I felt the honor , loyalty the the Sea's dragons rich heritage. I thought that it overwhelm the story. I will not keep me from reading the next book

Took too long for heroine to get back bone

Overall was a good story but heroine’s needed to get back bone sooner as I lost patience several times had to stop and come back to story at a later time. Just my 2 cents
