Inspiration not Romanitc Suspense

The opening says 'this is an inspirational story.' I knew then I had made an error in my purchase. The sample I listened to sounded like it COULD be good and a fast listen, I was wrong. This is a slow listen and story. More soothing than heart beating fast type. I think it was categorized wrong. Two and a half hours into the story and those two and half hourse could have been completed in 30 minutes. While I'm trying to be positive about the book I would hate others, like me, to purchase this audiobook that were expecting more bang for their buck.

Great book, needs better narration...

I love Irene Hannon, and loved reading the book when it was published last year. However, I was disappointed in the narration of this audiobook. There was little to no vocal difference amongst the various characters, making it difficult at times to follow along. I also found little difference in tonal inflection between scenes-- happy, sad, fearful, delighted, etc., they all sounded the same.

Inspirational romance story

I'm not sure which category this book was listed under but it's more of an inspirational story than a mystery. It's also a slow romance book. There were religious undertones, conversations and thoughts. That having been said it wasn't too overwhelming and if you like slow, clean, getting to know you romances with a little bit of excitement and action (no sex and the violence was low-key since it is an inspirational book) you would like this book. It jumps back and forth between different characters thoughts of what was happening at the moment or what had happened in the past that brought everyone to the crossroads they were at. The characters are well-developed and fleshed out.

Looking over the reviews I saw a lot of complaints of the narrator but I didn't think he was that bad. I actually liked his voice.

Great story OK narrator

Henderson's airy telling is superb. Suspenseful, engaging, romantic. The narrator was a poor choice delivering emotional lines in a matter of fact tone. Excellent book though!

Slow at First, But a good finish.

Performance was a little slow and over done at first. However, this improved and was done in a way that created a clear and compelling story.

Although predictable at points, there were enough twists and turns to keep the listener involved. It is a book that started slow and was easy to stop listening to at the end of a drive. However, from about the middle of the book on I would stay on my car listening at the end of a trip.

From a spiritual point of view there were some good points of reflection related to faith, hope and forgiveness in challenging life circumstances.

Good Book

The story was good, but slow at points. The voice paused so long at times I checked to see if I had paused it.

Occasional Reader

I loved the whole law enforcement storyline and the fact it took place in Missouri.
