Publisher's summary

What happens when Mr. Slow and Steady finds himself on a collision course with Ms. Full-Speed-Ahead?

The forecast is smooth sailing for Oliver Chancellor, one of Galveston’s premier financier. Destined to take his place in his family’s bank, Chance is content with the future that’s been mapped out for him, right down to his upcoming engagement to a prim debutante.

But when beautiful Aurora St. Claire crosses his path, Chance recklessly plunges into uncharted territory with nothing but his heart to guide him-and a beautiful woman to tempt him.

Propelled by a lifelong dream to buy the island home reportedly haunted by her colorful ancestors, Aurora desperately needs Chance’s help in securing a business loan and she won’t take no for an answer. In the midst of convincing the hesitant blue blood to take a chance on her dream, Aurora awakes his hidden streak of red-hot passion. Before they know it, the mismatched pair are all tangled up in a reckless desire and headed for trouble-trouble in the name of love.

Excellent

What did you love best about Falling for You?

The emotions and feelings of the characters. Julie does an excellent job of making the characters real. People are complicated and it is so true how we see and feel differently about things that happen. This books was so real life to me - maybe because Chance and my hubby are very much alike. They have to think and then rethink about everything. I also liked how what we think is expected is not always what is best. Very good book!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Chance - he reminds me so much of my husband. The way he processes thoughts and his actions.

Which scene was your favorite?

There were so many - I think the boat scene when Chance visited the boat with friends.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I really liked the book - I love listening to stories. Being read to is one of my favorite activities.

Any additional comments?

It was a great book for me - I love how Julie writes...I am on a mission to read/listen to all of her books. I have listened to the Perfect Trilogy and read the Texas Heat Series. This is the 1st in the Pearl Island series....not off to listen to Book 2 in the series Lead Me On. I really like buying the books with the Whispersync - letting me listen and read.Eva did an excellent job narrating the book. Her voice is very easy to listen too.

CH 20 Narration blooper!!!

Right in the middle of chapter 20, the narrative cuts from Chance and Aurora to a completely different scene between Adrian and Jackie on a pirate ship. Maybe a different book? The 2 scenes go back and forth a couple of times before resuming on the correct story.
Need to fix! Sort of a spoiler for the next book.

Great Texas Love Story

Being from Texas, it was great to visualize the places referenced. Loved that it was all centered around a B&B.

Issue Audible needs to fix

I have enjoyed this book and will be listening to the other two books in the series. I just want to let you know there is a little problem with the audio in chapter 20. Some of the audio that appears in a later chapter (28 perhaps) is intermingled with the correct audio. I do not think any of the original text is missing. It just took me a few minutes to figure out what was happening. I originally thought it was audio from Book 3 of the series but then found it as the book was nearing the end.

I thought you might wish to know about the issue in case you are now already aware of it since it might be irritating to other listeners.

Minor glitch in chapter 20

Otherwise it was a cute story. Someone edited scenes from the end into a very important conversation happening between the main characters in chapter 20.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I really liked the storyline of this book. It weaved in and out with frustrating moments and heartwarming moments. A fun read

What does Eva Kaminsky bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I have listed to Ms Kaminsky before. She does a nice job with all the inflections and different characters
