Everyday Average Jones

Really enjoyed the story of Cowboy and Melanie. Two stubborn characters that are pitted against each other in a stubborn match off. Loved he narrators voice! She did an excellent job and I look forward to hearing more from her.

Great Narrator, Loved the story

One installment of the "Alpha Squad" SEALS. Truly enjoyed this book, narrator one of Audible's best and the characters believable. Definitely worth the credits. Will listen to this book more than once.

A letdown

I still love this series, but this one was a letdown from the previous book in the series which was the best one so far ("Frisco's Kid"). I like all of the Navy Seal characters, but this one got dragged out more than it needed to and Melody became irritating after awhile. I did like the narrator on this one - she seemed more like the first one in the series. I actually liked the storyline with Brittany and Andy better. Hope the next is better and gets back on track.

Holds some interest, could have been better

The story included the point of view of both the macho guy and the feminine lead which was interesting, the story held my interest, but there was a lack of other characters like friends and like where were the parents, their daughter is having a baby alone and there is no mention of family, ever?
The story was not dynamic enough or believable enough.

It was definitely average

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It is still a good book. Compared to the rest of the Tall Dark and Dangerous series, it isn't the best, but it is still good.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Everyday, Average Jones?

I enjoyed a moment in the second half of the book where Jones really let his emotion show. He did it in front of the rest of his SEAL team, so it made it even more emotional! I guess I like to know of a big brute of guy letting his guard down!

Which character – as performed by Maia Guest – was your favorite?

She did best as Melody, the main character.

Any additional comments?

Overall, good book. Definitely worth the listen.

I love this series, but...

OK, I have to admit that I am pretty much hooked on this series. I love the stories and the fun blend of a moderately steamy romance and a military plot. The characters are well developed and I really found myself drawn in and wanting to find out what was going to happen to each one of them. However... I found it kind of silly that the main character, Melody Evans, would find herself unexpectedly pregnant by a man that she found so brave, so heroic, so wonderful, yet she would ABSOLUTELY refuse to even be in a relationship with him. It just seems pretty much impossible. Yet, I enjoyed the story and eagerly listened to it. I look forward to the next installment, too.

Slow to the point

Good beginning, but then slowed down to a crawl. Both the story and the narrator. Could she read any slower? I can understand slowing down for effect but every word in the whole book was drug out. As for the actual story, in real life Jones would have told a clueless Melanie to grow up and marry him NOW! Predictable ending, thank goodness.

An all time favorite ... I re-read my all my favorites.

I read this book many years ago for the first time, and have read again several times. I love all of Ms. Brockmann’s series, “Tall, Dark, and Dangerous”, but this one is exceptionally good. The narration is on point, which from me is high honors. I’m really picky about narrators. The story line is romantic, exciting, fast moving, and entwines multiple characters. A definite A+

Excellent

Loved this book. It had everything I've come to expect from Brockma; a well developed plot and the right blend of romance and sexual context between the main characters.
