Publisher's summary

Unforgettable characters, sizzling romance, and riveting suspense: These are the trademarks of beloved author Judith McNaught.

With millions of devoted fans and 10 New York Times best-sellers to date, McNaught is a writer whose work just gets better with each new novel - and Every Breath You Take is the book fans have been waiting for.

Returning to the lavish Chicago setting of her popular novel Paradise, and revisiting some of that book’s characters as well, this story will captivate in inimitable Judith McNaught style.

High atop a snow-covered hill, the stately old Wyatt mansion is perched like a crown, its stone spires pointing upward, its stained glass windows glowing like colorful jewels. Such opulence means success and, surely, happiness. But on the eve of wealthy philanthropist Cecil Wyatt’s 80th birthday, all the money in the world won’t bring back his missing grandson, William Wyatt. The only thing for certain: Foul play was involved. The family, the police, the media - all have tried in vain to discover the young man’s fate. Now suspicion has turned shockingly toward William’s own half-brother, the rather distant and enigmatic Mitchell Wyatt.

Kate Donovan never dreamed that a chance romantic encounter on a tropical island paradise would tag her as a suspect in a high-society murder case. But after Kate tangles with the darkly charismatic Mitchell Wyatt, she finds herself cast in a shadow of guilt and mistrust. As the Chicago police tighten their net, it will take all of Kate’s ingenuity to clear her name. With her calm, cool wit, and the help of a man who may or may not be a dangerous catch, Kate vows to claim the life and love she desires.

If you like Judith Mcnaught Skip this audible

I thought when I purchased this "unabridged' audio of this book, that it would be "unabridged". Not true. So much the story is missing. I made the mistake of purchasing the audio, without reading the reviews. For some reason, I read the reviews before I finished chapter 8. When they said information was missing, I thought they had to be wrong. Not sure, I bought the book to go along with the audible. So much is MISSING. Now I wonder about the other audible books I've purchased. Unabridged, doesn't seem to mean anything.

A FAVORITE OF MINE BUT WHERE IS BOOK 1 - 3?

Any additional comments?

I enjoy her books but have a pet peeve with either Audible or Publisher. I hate when a whole series is not available. This is book 4. Where is 1 - 3?

Took out my favorite parts!

What disappointed you about Every Breath You Take?

I have this book and love it. I am so disappointed that chapters were removed. It really took away too much to make it enjoyable.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

You don't get the actual ending except for the happily ever after.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Every Breath You Take?

NONE!!! I would have included to ones you took out!

Any additional comments?

So upset that I paid for this when so much was removed and there were several repeat sentences.

This is one of my favorite books, I have read it so many times I can quote from chapters.. Unfortunately there are chapters missing from this audible edition and some of the lines were were repeated.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the travel the characters Matt and Meredith & Julie and Zach make an appearance

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Laura Dean?

She is fine but need to pay attention, repeats her lines throughout the book

Any additional comments?

My Favorite

Would you consider the audio edition of Every Breath You Take to be better than the print version?

One of my all time favorite books. I enjoyed the audio edition but there were some repeat sentences. The print edition I have has some additional content that I wish would have been included in the audio

What did you like best about this story?

Just love the characters

Need more JM !!!

This book has been one of my favorite JM books I am extremely disappointed that there is not an unabridged version. Another major disappointment is the lack of JM novels !! I don’t understand why there is a French version of Perfect ( which Stars Zach & Julie from this novel ) but there is NOT an english version !! Ms. McNaught has many wonderful books all of which would be a wonderful addition to Audible !! She has written many historical romances that are a lot better then some of the ones I’ve bought ( and returned ) from Audible. She also has other contemporary novels as well ! Including Paradise which stars Matt & Meredith Farrel from this book as well !!
PLEASE more JM !!!

Love Judith McNaught!

Where does Every Breath You Take rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

From the perspective of plot, depth of characters, this book ranks high. Overall performance ranks very low, painful listening.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Susan Denaker?

YES! Pace much too slow; made listening to the book frustrating. In summary -- a great book, but terrible narration. The abridged version had a much more suitable narrator; please go back to that person.

TSTL heroin!

I greatly dislike romances like this one that have misunderstandings that lead to more misunderstandings.... But the thing that makes me angry about this book is the TSTL heroin. She is so gullible, believing everything that people say. Which makes her vacillate throughout the book, and that leads to many TSTL moments There are a lot of times that I found myself saying "Oh come on!" or "REALLY, that wouldn't happen". The only thing that saved this book was the mystery parts. They are the only reason I finished.

Great story / Poor quality recording

In this audio, many lines were repeated and often the tone changed in mid paragraph. I love all that Judith McNaught writes so the story kept me enthralled but I wish I had gotten written text instead of this audio version.
