Publisher's summary

As the son of a serial killer, homicide detective Thomas “Veck” DelVecchio, Jr., grew up in the shadow of evil. Now, on the knife-edge between civic duty and blind retribution, he atones for the sins of his father - while fighting his inner demons. Assigned to monitor Veck is Internal Affairs officer Sophia Reilly, whose interest in him is both professional and arousingly personal. And Veck and Sophia have another link: Jim Heron, a mysterious stranger with too many answers... to questions that are deadly. When Veck and Sophia are drawn into the ultimate battle between good and evil, their fallen angel savior is the only thing that stands between them and eternal damnation.

A soul worth saving

This is one of my favorites in this series so far, you have got to pay attention. I liked our characters from the beginning and love that Delvecchio was introduced to us J R Ward fans awhile ago through the BDB series. Jim and "The Boys" our Fallen Angels are just a handful on their own. I said "ah haw" a lot while listening to this book. Nothing is held back in this battle of good and evil. Never boring.

FANTASTIC--WOW

Would you listen to Envy again? Why?

I would listen to all of this series again and again. It is just so well written and just fantastic that words just cannot explain.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think I would be like Devina and be totally in love with Jim Herron and really want him
all the time like she does. Hmmmm, he sounds so hot!

Have you listened to any of Eric G Dove???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not heard any other books by him, but I would. And DEFINITELY keep him
reading the rest of this series.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes, there are a few places where you would giggle or laugh, and then there is one place where tears ran down my cheeks. I wont give it away, but it was very sad. I love being
that in tune with a book and series of books. It just really makes "reading" so
worth while.

Any additional comments?

I love that we are in Caldwell, and when around chapter 19 a black escalade nearly runs them over on the freeway I thought to myself --Hey, there are the Brotherhood after some lessors. The vampire in this book, yeah, I think it was one of the Brothers especially in the end where a big leather covered wearing sh-t kicker boots person comes walking down the hall of the hospital and says that he will make things right.
I love that both series run side by side, and the author probably hoped that everyone catches this part, but I bet she figures they won't if they arent in tune with the Brotherhood series. Man! I love them too.
Hard to believe I gotta wait until next year for the next installment on both of these super series. I have thought about 2-3 months before it will be due this time next year, to listen
to all the books again. But Im so tuned in that I don't need a refresher, I pick right up where the series left off, and I generally dont stop until it's done. LOL
If you don't like these, there is something really wrong with you. LOL even with the sexual context of the angels being one that I .....well, you understand Im sure.

Love it! Love it! Love it!

I've only recently started to read JR Ward and I can't get enough. I read Covet and Crave and was hooked.I decided to listen to Envy while commuting to work and was seriously disappointed each time I had to stop listening when I reached my destination. I couldn't put it down! The narrartor was perfect. He keep me enthralled with his character voices from beginning to end. The story was exciting, suspensful and soooo entertaining. I can hardly wait for the next book. Buy it, you won't be sorry.

Pretty good story

If you could sum up Envy: A Novel of the Fallen Angels in three words, what would they be?

Lots of sex.

What did you like best about this story?

The continuation of the story. It's a strange back story but, and a little too much sex in it for me but the back story is worth it.

Which scene was your favorite?

Don't have one

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No.

Amazing world to live in. I love that not everyone is either good or evil. JR Ward blurs the lines and makes it ok to do so. This series is amazing and keeps me on the edge of my seat.

Couldn't put it down!

I wasn't sure I would like a book about angles saving the souls of humans, but I LOVED it. The author did a great job with character development which allowed me to truely engage with each and everyone of them.

I am planning on reading the entire series. I really enjoyed Eric Dove's narration.

Still a good series

I have loved this series from the beginning, but for some reason this one just didnt hold my attention as well. Certain sections seemed to drag out. I am looking forward to getting the next one. I love JR's books, cant wait till the new Brotherhood book.
