    "Interesting Read"

Seven year old Abbi is running from her mom's funeral, seeking the ocean they both loved so much. She swims for a sandbar, but is overwhelmed by the waves. Waking on the beach, she's face to face with a teen boy with unearthly green eyes, and she knows he's just saved her life. The boy turns and disappears into the sea.

Twenty five years later, Abbi has convinced herself that the boy was just her imagination. Visiting her father's lab one night, she finds an impressive man strapped to a gurney, a man with beautiful green eyes. When Abbi learns that men from Area 51 are on their way to take the man there, she knows she must save him. She and Hauke go on the run.

This is a steamy read that doesn't end in a cliffhanger. It was an entertaining read, the idea of another species under the ocean was interesting and not one I'd read before. Hauke was a mix of vampire, merman, alpha male, and telepath. Overall, it was a good start to the series, and set up some intriguing romances for the later books.

The narrator was good, I liked his regular speaking voice. He deepens his voice for Hauke and lightens it for Abbi, so it's easy to tell who is speaking. I requested a copy of the audiobook, and I'm voluntarily leaving a review.

"Fantastically Refreshing and One Wild Ride!"
Where does Enigma: What Lies Beneath rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The beauty and heart of this story ranks very high up with the other fabulous paranormal romances that I have listened to and read. This sounds like a tremendous series that I would love to enjoy more of! It's original storyline had me gasping at its simple brilliance and complex beauty.

What other book might you compare Enigma: What Lies Beneath to and why?

I would compare the danger, passion, and heart to the Berzerkers series by Lee Savino. They are both highly entertaining and wonderfully imaginative series that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! Finding something truly rare and savoring it like this story makes me appreciate the writing and heart that went into this fascinating masterpiece.

    Which scene was your favorite?

One of my favorite scenes was after the baby was born. The pure love and tenderness between mother and son\mate and mate\and father and son had me almost on my knees. That was an intense and epically beautiful scene.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have loved to have listened to this book in one sitting. It would have made the story that much more powerful and passionate. However, my life only allows me to take sips of precious drinks of life and creativity.

    Any additional comments?

This is an incredible story that left me wrecked at the utter perfection and stunning heart that clearly constructed this extraordinary world along with these magnificent characters.

    "So in love"

Ditter Kellen is one of my all time favorite authors. This series is amazing by its self but when you throw in the husky sexy voice of Johnny Mac. I was blown away I fell asleep twice listening.. it is amazing.

What a great book! I enjoyed the narration and the story. What a fascinating race! Super-hot love paired with familiar places and names--since I live in the area this story is set in--just make this book a winner.

    "Enigma is wonderful!"

This book was written so you are hooked from the beginning. I like how Ditter Kellen has made a story that combines “real world” characters and “created” characters that are perfectly combined.
Meeting Abby in the beginning and having your heart just “connect” with her really was a welcome surprise.
This book having a storyline that will carry into the next book in the series, without the storyline being watered down or over “stretched”, makes me want to read/listen to the next one right away. Very happy to have found this series and I am most assuredly hooked!
I recommend this book to those that like a puzzle, some suspense, an “otherworldly “ romance that is right here in our oceans.

    "Endearing Romance "

Enigma, is one of the best paranormal romances I've come across. The author explicitly gave mental pictures of each character and lead us into a wonderful sexy romance filled with dramas and suspense. I can't wait for book 2 of this series.

    "Great story"

I thought this was a great first story in this series. I like that the female was strong but she also was rushing into trouble being stubborn. The male lead character was so sweet and there to protect her. I wasn’t surprised that the government was behind the conspiracy, that is almost like real life. But I was so happy they got their HEA. And I can’t wait to hear the next story. Uncle Tony deserves some one to love and them love him.

    "Wonderful new series"

This is a great beginning to a wonderful new series. "Aliens" Govt conspiracies, and just enough tension/conflict to keep you enthralled. I'm not used to male narrators, but Johnny Mack did an outstanding job.
