Publisher's summary

Their families are sworn enemies....

When Kiernan and Melina spent one passionate night together a year ago, they never thought that it would change their lives forever. While the attraction was undeniable, wolf shifter Melina Rodriguez knows it takes more than passion to combat a century of family animosity - even if she can't manage to get dark, handsome Kiernan out of her head.

But he won't let her go.

After a year of relentlessly pursuing the one woman he shouldn't want, vampire Kiernan has finally convinced sweet, passionate Melina to give him one more chance. When their hot Miami night of flirtation is violently interrupted, he has to convince her to put her life in his hands. With an unknown enemy targeting her and their own families against their union, he knows he'll have to show her that he'll do anything to keep her safe. And he doesn't care who gets in his way.

Vampire & Shifter Romance

This was a good and steamy vampire and wolf shifter romance story. There's no buildup to the story, it get right to it from the very beginning. The chemistry between Kiernan and Melina was undeniable and their desires for each other was unwavering. There's heated and hated history between these two clans but Kiernan has no intention to fight against his intentions for Melina. He wants her and he will do what needs to be done to have her and their clans will just have to deal with it. However, other players and threats come into play and they have their eyes on Melina. They will do whatever it takes to get her for selfish purposes even if it destroys her in the end. The story has very little action but it's well written and there's never a dull moment. The narrator did a fantastic job with this story and I enjoyed his voice a lot. I'm looking forward to other books from this author.

Well Written Vamp Shifter Series

A stand-alone novella from the Darkness series. It’s short but awesome. Jeffrey Kafer is a fantastic voice artist and a professional audio coach and representative. He brings life to both make and female characters.
👍🏻❤️👍🏻 Two Thumbs Up!

Enemy Mine

ENEMY MINE
Katie Reus can always be counted on for a wonderful read. Jeffrey Kafer is once again narrator to her audible book and is brilliant. He has a sexy voice that you could listen to all day long.
Enemy Mine is a novella involving Melina and Kiernan. Melina is a member of the wolf pack, Kiernan is a vampire and his coven and her pack are enemies. They have a short history from a year previously and neither had been able to move on.
This was a very enjoyable read. It has great characters, a great plot line, and great flow. I highly recommend this book. If you are new to Katie's books, this is a good one to try.

Loved!!!

Narrator Review:
This is my second time listening to Jeffrey Kafer. I enjoyed his voice just as much as the first time. I love how he does the female voice. He did not do the dreaded high pitch which I’m very thankful for. I recommend the audio version of aenemy Mine. Borrowed on the Audible Romance Package

Story Review:
For being only 90 pages, this story really packed a punch! A modern day Romeo and Juliet theme, you get a vampire and his mortal enemy, a wolf shifter who can't stay away from each other. Kiernan's obsessive pursuit of Melina was hot! His determination to make her permanently his despite facing her over-protective brothers and Alpha father will win you over. His protection of her from another packs attempted kidnapping showed he was the right mate for her despite being different species. Great story, maturely written and made me want more. I can't wait to read other stories from this author.

Love Thy Enemy

Melina Rodriguez is going crazy. Her overprotective family won't stop hovering. She may be the youngest but she can take care of herself. After all she's a wolf shifter. What would they do if they learned that she's involved with the Vampire Kiernan? His coven and her pack are sworn enemies. Melina is a force to be reckoned with. Her family better watch their step. I love this feisty heroine. Kiernan is a keeper. He will go to any lengths to protect the woman he loves. These two are perfect together. The unknown enemies pursuing Melina better beware. Kiernan is a deadly foe. Katie Reus has written an action packed story that I couldn't put down. The hot Miami nights highlight their passion. No one writes paranormal romance better than this author. When you combine this with the narration of Jeffrey Kafer and you have a story that you won't be able to stop reading.

I was missing this world so much!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

It was a fast-paced book. It focused more on the relationship among all characters than the world building. I wish it would have taken more time explaining what exactly it was that Melina's family did that made her doubt his initial interest in her. Although I suppose given the length of the story it provided a practical reason of the hesitancy. All in all the plot was well written so I'd definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys PNR.

Would you be willing to try another book from Katie Reus? Why or why not?

I would try anything by Katie Reus. I like her writing style too much to pass up any of her books.

Which character – as performed by Jeffrey Kafer – was your favorite?

I have to say I loved that he didn't increase his voice one octave higher to sound like a silly girl when giving voice to Melina, so Kudos for that.

Do you think Enemy Mine needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I think the story in itself was too short but then again it was a novella so I don't have much too complain about. However it still felt as if a HEA wasn't reached and a follow up wouldn't be a such a bad a idea.

Any additional comments?

Melina and Kiernan had great chemistry and the animosity between their families made a lot of sense once it was explained. I only wish the story would have been longer because I felt there wasn't enough told for a new reader to thoroughly enjoy this story and perhaps be hooked in the series as much as I am.
