Publisher's summary

What happens in Cancun doesn't always stay in Cancun.

When Emma Anderson and her friends decided to spend their senior year Spring Break in Cancun, she expected some crazy memories to end their final college days. What Emma didn't expect was to meet Brandon Fisher. Tall and sexy, with dimples that would make any girl swoon, Brandon Fisher was literally the man of Emma's dreams. She couldn't quite believe that this stranger, who seduced her every night in her dreams, actually existed.

After serendipitously bumping into each other, Emma could not resist Brandon's pull and spent an unforgettable night with him. Passing it off as a spring break fling, Emma never expected to see Brandon again. But when she started her first day at her new job a few months later, there he was.

When Emma begins to fall in love with the man from her dreams, she wasn't expecting that both her and Brandon's secrets and pasts would threaten to pull them apart.

Will Emma and Brandon's inextricable pull for one another be strong enough to withstand the external factors that seem to pull them apart, or will Emma's dream man be nothing but just that - a dream?

Not typical of most NA books

This NA story is not typical for the genre; it's not full of angst or rebellion or pain. It is a simple story of love at first sight. While the characters do face certain obstacles to their happiness, the characters continued to feel a little naive to me and I never felt they grew as characters or people very much.

The first book is written in first person and is entirely from Emma's POV. The second book was still written in first person, but suddenly the author starts head hopping. Thankfully, each change of POV is titled with whose head we are in. But after spending an entire previous book hearing only Emma's POV, every single switch jarred me out of the story. I never did feel like I understood the other characters. Please note that the narrator did a great job of differentiating the voices; it wasn't her fault that I couldn't get into the other POVs.

A sweet romance ...

What did you like best about this story?

Brandon was so committed to Emma. There was a time in the second story that he could have completely left her but chose to stay instead.

Which character – as performed by Lynn Barrington – was your favorite?

Emma was my favorite character. It was her story to tell and Ms. Barrington gave Emma a true voice. I could feel her emotions.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Brandon 'saw the light'. Don't want to spoil it :)

Any additional comments?

Emma's Story is a sweet romance. Emma dreams about her fantasy man and while on a trip finds him. After returning home, she again runs into him but this time there are complications. She remembers him but does he remember her? He does! Add in a clingy ex-girlfriend and you have a recipe for trouble.

At times Emma's Story seemed like it was going to be a cliched story/situation but Ms. Wood turned a corner and made the story fresh and new. I look forward to reading more of Ms. Wood's work and listening to more of Ms. Barrington's narrations.

Fantastic story!

Emma & Michael had been together for over a year & Emma was still a virgin. Emma was holding out for Mr Right and Michael wasn't it. For several months now Emma has been dreaming of Mr Right & even having sex in her dreams. On spring break, Emma & Michael break up the night before she was to leave for Cancun. Emma saw it coming and wasn't too upset about the break up.
Down in Cancun, Emma swore one day she saw the man she had been dreaming about. She didn't see him again until the last day of her vacation. Emma was plastered and then he found her. He (Brandon) worked for the event that Emma was to be at, but Emma missed the boat, so he went looking for her. They slept together that night and it was magical or was it a dream? Emma never heard from Brandon again.
Now after graduating, Emma gets hired into a firm and Brandon is her boss. Does he remember her? What happens from here, you have to read the book.

In Book 2: The Day to Remember, Emma and Brandon become an item. Brandon's ex-girlfriend shows up one day and all hell breaks loose. This becomes a rocky road for the two lovers. With all her heart, Emma has to let him go... I even really liked Damien, a self proclaimed man whore (too funny). I didn't like Desiree at all, but I understood her part.
These books were well written. I had expected them to be smutty, but they weren't at all! They are fun, sexy and witty. The plot captured my attention to the point I didn't wan;t the book to stop! Now I wish there was more books for Emma and Brandon. The Epilogue was fantastic. It even made me cry. I absolutely loved these books!!!
The author, Jessica Wood did a great job writing these books. What a great imagination to write them as she did with all the happenings in them. The narrator, Lynn Barrington did a great job reading them to us! With her multiple voices and accents. Together these two ladies made great storytellers!

I love Emma's story!

You will love these books! In the first book we meet Emma, who is coming out of a long term relationship. She goes to Mexico on spring break where she literally meets the man of her dreams, Brandon. Emma thinks she will never see him again, but months later he ends up being her boss. Brandon's life is complicated and his ex tries to tear them apart. She too has secrets in her past. You will love how their story comes together.

What dreams are made of...

Where does Emma's Story Series Box Set: A Night to Forget & The Day to Remember rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really enjoyed the Audio book. The Narrator was great and really lent herself to the story to allow enjoyment by the listener. I have only listened to a handful of audio books but the narrator made this one of the better ones to listen to.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Emma's Story Series Box Set: A Night to Forget & The Day to Remember?

I liked the part when Emma realized she had dreamed part of what had happened between her and Brandon. He literally was the man of her dreams and it was great to see how her dreams factored into her reality. The story was well put together and had much of the conflict on both sides as well as the underlying love that makes you want to keep going and rooting for them to make it in the end.

What does Lynn Barrington bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I think the way she narrated the books was spot on the how I could see the characters. I have heard other books where the Narrator completely ruins the story by being over the top but I think Lynn did a great job giving just enough to enhance the story without going over the edge.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did want to listen to this all in one sitting and had a hard time shutting it off. I have a long commute and tend to listen to audio books on my commute and I started this over a holiday weekend thus kept trying to find time to listen to a few more chapters as I could not wait to see what would happen next.

Any additional comments?

Overall I thought this was a great listen and a wonderful story. I would highly recommend it!!
