Publisher's summary

Following a near death experience, firefighter/paramedic Emma Hill's world is turned upside down. Haunted by a vision of the man who could very well be her soulmate, Emma is desperate to find that man, but fear stands in her way.

With a maniacal ex-husband determined to get her back, Emma struggles to stay clear of him or risk living a life riddled by quiet desperation and abuse. Fighting with a dirty cop is dangerous enough, but when that dirty cop is her ex-husband, the stakes are raised to disastrous levels.

Craig Masterson, the firefighter who saved Emma's life, finds himself falling for her. When he learns who her ex-husband is, he realizes that this is a battle he may not win.

Choosing to love her is a deadly game. If he can stay alive, their love may flourish, but only if he can defeat her ex.

Heat level: low (for this audiobook - the rest in the series are moderate to moderately-high), suspense, thriller level: moderate. Some swearing. 18+ Cliffhanger.

A hunky fireman and a beautiful paramedic solving problems and saving people. I really enjoyed this book!

disappointing

I loved the author's one true mate series. With that being said, I was so excited to see the Edge of Heat series come to audible. However this is not her best work. There are so many weird choices made. The heroine is search for love based on this vision she has. She has only had one other vision in her life. she also has a crazy ex that ruins any future relationships. Then comes the hero. While they have a connection, she eventually writes him off because he doesn't fit the man in her vague vision; which results in a lot of unnecessary turmoil for the couple. The author also added some unnecessary twists about her history and family that were never pursued. It was all over the place. I felt as though she had a lot of ideas but no clear sense of direction but decided to throw it in the story anyways. To add insult to injury, it ends on a cliffhanger.

I liked the rescue/ men and women in uniform theme but their Noble careers and charm couldn't save this one. the performance was also lackluster
