Publisher's Summary

Their love is destined to shatter the boundaries of time....

Archaeology grad student Alexandra Larson's world is turned upside down when her mother shares her deepest, darkest secret—that she doesn't know the true identity of Lex's father. The revelation sparks a change within Lex, and her dreams become far too real. She sees things she shouldn't be able to see...knows things she couldn't possibly know. Terrifying things. Deadly things.

To distract her from the surreal changes taking over her life, Lex leaps at the chance to join an Egyptian excavation run by Oxford's enigmatic Professor Marcus Bahur. But the distraction might be more than she bargained for. While deciphering the secrets of a mysterious stone tablet, Lex falls headlong into a prophecy created by a dying god over four millennia ago. She must rely on her frightening new psychic powers to dig up the truth. And it doesn't take long for her visions to convince her that both Professor Bahur and his excavation are much more than they seem....

The past clashes with the present in this paranormal tale of ancient prophecies and warring gods. If you like Egyptian mythology, steamy romance and headstrong characters who won't give up until they discover the truth, then you'll love the first installment in author Lindsey Fairleigh's sprawling time travel adventure.

Need the second book

It is a introduction . If the second book does not pick up pace and give more action I would lower this books rating... in other words the world is interesting but we need more of it to stay interested enough to continue reading

I hope for something more...

I bought this book because I thought the story would be more interesting, and it would involve more elements of egyptian stories. The story is not bad, but it also didn't hold my attention as usually happens with good stories. The fact of the book is divided into four parts made the the story to be stopped and restarted again. It's a bit strange, to be honest.

An entertaining Egyptian fantasy romance

Echo in Time is an entertaining Egyptian inspired fantasy romance with some surprising twists and turns. The story is the first part of a trilogy, but it works well independently. The narrator does a nice job bringing the book to life. Contains graphic sex scenes.

Ok

This story started good. Very interesting but it went down down down. Turned into a soap opera. Maybe some people like that but it's not what I paid for.

Into the nothing

Lex finds life gets real interesting when she has vivid dreams and finds out she can see the future and the past.
The past and the future collide after a bad experience with a date and she finds she heals fast.
Twists and turns with lots of danger and laughter makes this a great story.
Archeology lovers will find this story fascinating.
I will need to get he next one and continue the story as I was to know what happens next!
Well written story of adventure, danger and love!

5 big shinning stars and two thumbs up!

While this book was a departure from my usual fare it was a step up in many ways as well. Too much fantasy and non human people are usually too far fetched or confusing to hold my attention. I listen/read 75% of what a do solely to not think too hard but stay entertained all the same. This was amazing!!! I can believe we are not all human when told this story... it actually explains a lot, lol! (*wink, giggle)

Very well written and exceptionally well performed this book is a must for my repeat list while I wait for more of the trilogy. You get the story from the description and the narrator from the snippet. I can tell you the chemistry is crackling delightfully and the sex, while not explicit exactly, also is not out of proportion to the story like some books. It's just very well done.

Creditworthy? Need you ask?

Utterly Forgettable

It's been just a little over a month since I listened to this, and I have completely forgotten the entire story. That can't be a good thing. The only thing I do remember is that I wasn't overly impressed with the story, which makes perfect sense, given that it failed to leave a lasting impression.

Disappointing and annoying

So hoped for more but what we mostly got was an annoying, not too bright, secret princess heroine with major jealousy of other women and daddy issues. Nothing great in the way of Egyptology or archeology or ancient languages. By end of book kept hoping one of them would die. Narrator did her best with purple prose. Wanted to love it but only listened to the end because I promised a friend.
