Publisher's Summary

The first book in the Echo Trilogy. A powerful, mythic race, an ancient Egyptian prophecy, and a love strong enough to shatter the boundaries of time.

Alexandra Larson isn't human, but she doesn't know that. As far as Lex is concerned, she's simply an ambitious archaeology grad student with a knack for deciphering ancient languages, especially the various forms of Egyptian. When she's recruited to work on her dream excavation and her translating skills uncover the secret entrance to an underground Egyptian temple, Lex is beyond thrilled by her discovery...as is the enigmatic and alluring excavation director, Marcus Bahur. As the relationship between Lex and Marcus heats up, a series of shocking revelations leave the young archaeologist reeling.

Together, she and Marcus are all that's standing between an ancient evil being and the power to alter the very fabric of time. Events set in motion by a dying god over four millennia ago pull Lex and Marcus away from Seattle and into the heart of Egypt, where Lex learns that the fate of the world depends on one thing: the strength of her heart.

    Story
"5 big shinning stars and two thumbs up!"

While this book was a departure from my usual fare it was a step up in many ways as well. Too much fantasy and non human people are usually too far fetched or confusing to hold my attention. I listen/read 75% of what a do solely to not think too hard but stay entertained all the same. This was amazing!!! I can believe we are not all human when told this story... it actually explains a lot, lol! (*wink, giggle)

Very well written and exceptionally well performed this book is a must for my repeat list while I wait for more of the trilogy. You get the story from the description and the narrator from the snippet. I can tell you the chemistry is crackling delightfully and the sex, while not explicit exactly, also is not out of proportion to the story like some books. It's just very well done.

    Creditworthy? Need you ask?

    Story
    "Utterly Forgettable"

It's been just a little over a month since I listened to this, and I have completely forgotten the entire story. That can't be a good thing. The only thing I do remember is that I wasn't overly impressed with the story, which makes perfect sense, given that it failed to leave a lasting impression.

    Story
    "Disappointing and annoying"

So hoped for more but what we mostly got was an annoying, not too bright, secret princess heroine with major jealousy of other women and daddy issues. Nothing great in the way of Egyptology or archeology or ancient languages. By end of book kept hoping one of them would die. Narrator did her best with purple prose. Wanted to love it but only listened to the end because I promised a friend.

"Great mix of archeology, time travel and romance!"
What did you love best about Echo in Time?

I loved reading this series! I was excited to see the Audible book for this first installment, but as much as I loved reading the story, I struggled with this narrator. She's got a lovely accent, but there was a flatness to the narration that diminished my enjoyment of this book. Much prefer the narrator in the Ink Witch series.

If you're a fan of ancient Egypt, and time travel romances, you'll love this!
