Publisher's Summary

Nothing has ever come easy for Lila Bailey. She's fought for every good thing in her life during every day of her 31 years. Aside from that one night with an impossible-to-deny stranger a year ago, Lila is the epitome of responsible. Steadfast. Strong. She's pulled herself out of the train wreck of her childhood, proud to be a professor at Tulane University and laying down roots in a city she's grown to love.

But when some of her female students are viciously murdered, Lila's shaken to the core and unsure of whom she can trust in New Orleans. When the police detective assigned to the murder case comes to investigate, she's even more surprised to find herself staring into the eyes of the man who made her toes curl last year.

In an attempt to move on from the tragic loss of his wife, Asher Smith moved his daughter and himself to a new city, ready for a fresh start. A damn fine police lieutenant but new to the New Orleans force, Asher has a lot to prove to his colleagues and himself. With a murderer terrorizing the Tulane University campus, Asher finds himself toe to toe with the one woman who haunts his dreams. His hands, his lips, his body know her as intimately as he's ever known anyone. As he learns her mind and heart as well, Asher wants nothing more than to keep her safe, in his bed, and in his and his daughter's lives for the long haul. But when Lila becomes the target, can Asher save her in time, or will he lose another woman he loves?

YES IT'S SHORT... BUT KP PACKED SO MUCH INTO IT

College Professor Lila accidentally fell into the handsome and charming Asher's lap while on a plane to New Orleans - instant chemistry, instant attraction but apologies and goodbyes were said. Fate then had them drinking in the same Bar and they eagerly and quickly picked up where they'd left off..... and took it to the next level by sharing one hot night together. But no surnames or numbers were exchanged.... which they both later sadly regretted.

Then, six months later Asher came walking back into her life but on a professional basis because he was a Police Lieutenant following up on the grizzly murders of three of her female Students. Asher knew the Killer had left notes suggesting that he was about to target Lila and his protective instincts took over.... well that an the sexual chemistry that was so obviously bubbling between them. Asher took Lila under his wing, introduced her to his sweet 10 yr old daughter, shared histories, had more sex and they quickly became a little family unit. But then the Killer struck again and it was even more gruesome than before and this time he left a chilling note that he was coming for Lila next.

This was a very sweet, touching and friendly romance, there was drama and suspense as to who the sick Killer was and if he would be able to get to Lila, there was passion and sex and a handful of secondary characters. Dual POV's, good narration and, although part of a series, it's easily a standalone.

Worth a credit? No but only because it's just 2.47 hrs long and cost a mere $3.95. I usually don't like short listens because you don't get the depth and detail to a story or they feel rushed. But, as it's one of Kristen Proby's books, I knew I was going to enjoy it whatever the length - and I wasn't wrong because she delivered on so many levels.... the characters, the storyline and the drama.

Wish It Lasted Longer

Short novella was a good addition to the Boudreaux series. I wish it were longer because there was so much to explore with these characters. Narration was well done. Another good audiobook in the series.

4 Easy With You Stars

OOoooooo this book had me on the edge of my seat! I realllly enjoyed this novella and having the two series meet like that was fabulous.

I was taken right away with Asher and his daughter so freaking cute! I didn’t really connect well with Lila, I liked her but I felt she was a little flat considering what happens I guess I wanted for her character to show a little more emotion maybe.

But overall a great story. Glad I listened to it. The narration was spot on.

More mystery and romance! Best novella I have ever listened to!

Wow. I don't usually read/listen to novellas or any audiobooks shorter than 5.5 hours - but I'm glad I made an exception for this story. The only reason I bought this was because the characters and part of their story was introduced in the first Boudreaux book "Easy in Love" and it started playing immediately after the end of it. For a 3 hour book it was jam-packed with characters, adventure, and mystery - instead of who's stealing money, it's who's killing Lila's students! We learn that Lila is a professor and Asher is a homocide detective and single dad. Kate's in this book too and there are some very fun and heartwarming scenes. Not a lot of humor, but a great story I am happy I paid $4 for. Make sure you don't use a credit! If Kristin Proby's next three books are as great as these two have been - I'm probably going to break my rules again and listen to the other two novellas!

sooooo good!

I love Sebastian York voice! I would have like to hear his voice do the southern playing as described bye the female character and as she did so nicely, but it was still amazing! The book it's self had a very good story and was a nice treat between books 1 and 2!

Oh gimme my Asher right now

Wow!!! I just love love love this novella!!! Why does it have to be so short???
Asher and Lila’s story started during the timeline of Easy Love. I love how a one night stand becomes something meaningful and with a real story behind!! I love the connection between them but especially the connection Lila had with Asher’s little girl!!
The male narrator was perfect! His tone of voice was sexy and strong, just perfect for Asher and his inflections were just great
The female narrator was good too, her pace and tone of voice were great, but her inflections for Asher weren’t so good.
Love this novella so much!!

Good story but poor police procedures.

When did we stop doing research for novels? Even romance novels can be factual without being dull. Too many lapses in procedure to give the story a better rating.

Short but just right

The writing was so tight that it was a full story with no unnecessary details. Jennifer Mack does an awful male voice. Eric Michael Sumerer is the male lead and did a great job.

Lila pissed me off when she didn’t listen to Asher. A serial killer is after you, you listen to the cop that loves you. Just stupid! Other than that loved the story.
