Publisher's summary

The Boudreaux Series: Sexy. Intriguing. Easy.

Callie Mills never intended to return to New Orleans and the life she left behind more than a decade ago. There was no need to open old wounds when she had the life she'd worked hard for in Denver. But when she's fired from her awesome job in Colorado and her father dies, she has no choice but to return home to run the derelict bar left to her in the heart of the French Quarter. Callie must not only face bad memories but turn The Odyssey into something she can be proud of. And who better to help bring in crowds of people than Declan Boudreaux?

Declan is a sought-after musician who knows he's good at what he does and loves doing it. Known to pack the house, he also loves women and doesn't expect to be knocked back a step by the beautiful new owner of The Odyssey. Callie is sharp, gorgeous, and funny and makes him yearn for something he never has before...commitment.

But when Callie's able to turn the business around with renovations, making it one of the hottest bars in the Quarter, will she sell out and leave her past behind once and for all, or will Declan be able to convince her that's she's where she needed to be all along...in his arms?

A HEARTWARMING, EASY GOING & WELL PACED LOVE STORY

The thing I love about Kristen Proby's books are that she creates such loveable characters who pull at your heartstrings and you just can't help but get drawn into their intoxicating world. And that's the case with this third book in the Boudreaux series where we meet feisty and independent Callie as she tries to salvage her late Father's Bar and, in doing so, she meets the handsome, sexy and talented Musician Declan Boudreaux. She knows he's a 'no strings' womanizer but the sexual chemistry and mutual attraction are too strong to deny and, when it ignites into a passionate steamy night, Callie knows she's in big trouble.

But misunderstandings soon lead to confusion and hurt pride which brings a halt to their romance.... but it doesn't dampen the mutual attraction. Declan doesn't want to want the beautiful and feisty Bar Owner however he can't get her, and her delicious body, out of his mind but he doesn't know how to do relationships and is easily distracted.... so the calls he should've made never happened. Declan wasn't looking for any commitments and Callie already had more than enough already but they have so much in common, they just click and there's playful and sexy banter between them too but Declan must decide what he wants and do some major damage control.

A very enjoyable easy flowing sexy romance with no major dramas as these two characters try to understand and accept each other as they go from friends to lovers. The secondary cast of family and friends enrich the storyline and make it more entertaining too. Dual POV's and, although the narration was good, the narrator's voices for Declan didn't match because he had a strong Southern drawl when the Chapters were narrated by Rachel F. but, when Sebastian Y. narrated them there was no Southern cadence at all.... not a big problem but just a pet peeve of mine.

Worth a credit? This was a sweet, drama free, hot contemporary romance that was skilfully created by one of my favorite Authors and it had just enough angst and bumps in the road to keep me all tangled up and concerned about the HEA's for two loveable main characters. YES, yet another creditworthy addition by KP.

Somewhat predictable but still a very romantic

Kristen never disappoints. Although the plot is somewhat predictable you can't help but fall in love with the characters. i absolutely ADORE Sebastian York and his voice will melt the panties off anyone. This book was interesting how she brought some of the characters from the "with me in Seattle" series into this book... tired them all together. makes you realize what a small world out truly is.

Barely okay 2.5 star story, Fantastic Narration!

Well this story was just barely okay. Not much substance to it. Boy meets girl and they have sex and sex and sex and some more sex. No surprises, no mystery, nothing really other than these two having sex and of course falling in love.

The story line was just pretty predictable. There was no plot to speak of. There is a lot of dialogue throughout the entire book (including during the sex) so there is that.

This is also written in the first person by alternating POV's which is better than just one character's POV, However, I think it would be better written in the third person. Just my opinion.

As for the narration, Well Sebastian York is like ear candy, and that is what kept me listening to be honest. Rachel Fulginiti is very good too.

Yada, Yada, yada

Proby's kind of lost it. First books were greatt, but now all of them are "Rich bachelor millionaire, sexual superman meets younger, sex-starved but stunning looking woman who makes him change his errant ways. " Done.

That's her last few books. Don't need to hear it again.

Not a great on story or performance

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Anyone interested in poorly written erotica made up of sexual encounters and very little else tying them together.

Has Easy Melody turned you off from other books in this genre?

No but I wouldn't spend the money on subsequent books in the series

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Rachel Fulginiti and Sebastian York ?

Anyone else who could narrate.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not really

Any additional comments?

The plastic sounding accents were just the soured icing on a pretty awful cake.

Slavery content totally distasteful

I like never write reviews so something has to be extremely good or bad to motivate me. However, I’ve read a few in this series. The family owns a plantation in the south and the horrors of slavery are barely mentioned. The reference in this book just put me right over the edge. Callie is walking around the slave cabins reading the plaques. One shows the receipts of slave sales displayed... waiting for some moment of gravity, some ode to the horrors of being sold like cattle... then she says how wonderful it must be for them to have a family with “such rich history”. For the life of me I wanted to throw my phone when I read that! How in the world can you transition from a slave transaction receipt to some romance glorification of a rich white family?? So it’s “just a romance novel” you’re saying. No. I don’t buy that. If someone is that insensitive, then they don’t deserve my money or time.

Loved it. Sebastian is the best.

Sebastian could read me War and Peace and he'd have my full attention. He is fabulous.

I love this story

I absolutely love the way Kristen intertwines characters from the With me in Seattle Series. It is one of my favorite series and it was nice to have some of the characters make a cameo. This story was sweet.

These two are really in tune with each other

I listened to the audio version of this.

Declan is part of the Boudreaux siblings and ready to settle down. He is a musician so has had plenty of willing women in his bed but the one he has his eyes on now may take a little bit more effort to impress.

Callie has seen the way Declan works when it comes to girls and she is definitely a commitment girl. Sure he is cute but if he wants her he has to go all in, exclusivity is a non-negotiable.

It turns out that these two have way more in common than they realised, especially their love of DIY and flipping houses. Not only that, his family loves her and everything with Callie just feels so right.

Declan is not used to being with a woman who genuinely cares about him and enjoys spending time with him outside of the bedroom. It's taking some adjusting and at times he confuses Callie with his aloof behaviour.

These two fit together like an Easy Melody so hopefully Declan realises that Callie is the forever girl he has been looking for before things fall out of tune.
