Loved Dream Kisses Audiobook.

I haven't read or listened to a Verna Clay novel before, but would not hesitate to read any of her books. The Narration was great. Wendy Rich Stetson had great distinguishable voices for each character. Sage's sexy appeal shone through her voice. I did not have to re-listen to any part of the audiobook to understand the words be spoken. She made the characters come to life so that I did not want to say goodbye to them. I will listen to any book narrated by Wendy Stetson and in fact my next book is narrated by her too. I would also read any Verna Clay novel. Great job!

Sweet romance!

Dream Kisses by Verna Clay is a sweet romance with a little more depth than the average romance. The characters were easy to get to know and like. Sage and Sarah both have some baggage in their backgrounds, so it wasn't easy for them to get together and believe in themselves. And of course Wendy Rich Stetson was a joy to listen to. Her voice was wonderful giving each character their own voice, even the cowboy accents. What fun that must have been!

I was given a copy of this audio book in exchange for a honest review.

The Romance Writer And The Model Cowboy?

If you could sum up Dream Kisses in three words, what would they be?

Modern Western Chicklit

What other book might you compare Dream Kisses to and why?

I don't really do that. I see each book and/or series as its own entity. I think that saying it isn't makes less of the work and the author!

Have you listened to any of Wendy Rich Stetson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first time listening to her! I really enjoyed her performance and will definitely be listening to more of her :)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did listen to this book in one sitting!

Any additional comments?

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. This is the first book.

Mims is a famous romance novelist who is kind of sour on love. She believes in it for her characters... Just not a plain Jane like herself. Meeting the cover model Sage from her books sends her info a bit of a tailspin. Her editor and his joke on her just was not amusing! Now she can't write. Needing to finish her book, she books six long weeks at a dude ranch hoping to find real-life inspiration and insight into her modern chicklit western romance. Too bad Fate is conspiring against her! Will she make it to the ranch? Will she get her book written on time? Will she survive the lack of civilization?

Sage hates being a sex symbol. Too bad it pays the bills. What can he do? He has to make a living somehow to keep his ranch and all the land. How did Mims end up on his ranch as a dude? Is someone playing a joke on them? All he knows is that she intrigues him. Will they get along? Or will he lose a paying guest and a cover model job in one fell swoop? Will he win her over? Or send running back to the city?

***This series is suitable for adult listeners (or readers) who enjoy modern romance with chicklit overtones in a western setting filled with fun and second chances while learning to love again and move past tragedies of the past :)

Sweet and Romantic I can't wait for the next audio

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this listen loved the plot, characters, the twists, and the messes they get into. Poor Sarah cannot get a break if it wasn’t for bad luck she wouldn’t have any luck at all. At least this is the way she see it. You could have knocked her over with a feather when Sage comes riding up to rescue her. The author gives you some humor along with some serious parts. Sarah just wants life back to normal away from this overbearing man. Everyone is so kind on the ranch maybe Sage isn’t as bad as she thinks or maybe she is just out of her mind in pain. Sage isn’t too happy to have her on his ranch either. He was just going along with the ladies can’t she take a joke?

Ms. Stetson narration was wonderful she gave the characters voices and emotions that you could feel. At times I felt sorry for both of them. There is no background noise or any places where it is higher or lower than it should be. You have no trouble knowing what each character is feeling the narrator gives wonderful emotion to her voice. You are never left guessing and it was easy to know who was talking. Her female voices were as good as her males. Ms. Stetson has a very strong rich voice which is smoothing. She made this a wonderful listen as she takes you through each page making you feel like you are part of the read. It was a pleasure listening to her narration.

The author gives you a wonderful plot with great characters and supporting characters. Some you will love and other are just there to get your back up. She throws in a few twists to keep the book interesting. This is a short listen once it starts you are hook and before you know it the book is over leaving you wanting more. I found this to be a believable story which at times is very humorous. I am really looking forward to listening to more audios from this narrator as well as more books from the author. I feel most will enjoy this walking away with a smile.

Great Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book written by Verna Clay; this is the first book in the romance on the Ranch series. Sarah Carter is an author, when she meets her cover model Sage Tanner they get off on the wrong foot when she has an embarrassing incident. She is writing a western romance and decides that she wants to sign up for a “dude” class at the Lazy M Dude Ranch. When gets to the ranch she can’t believe her luck that Sage is actually the owner of the ranch. The characters in this book are great and you will love them. If you are looking for a great romance then you need to read this book. I can’t wait until the next book comes out.

The narrator Wendy Rich Stetson did a great job with this book, and was very easy to listen to. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to in one sitting and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a great book with great characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.

Chic Lit! Fun and Sweet Romance - Cute Could Be YA

'Mims' is a romance novelist whose book has finally hit the top of the chart. Dream Kisses begins as she is watching the models that will be used for the cover of her book. The male model, Sage is handsome, beautiful and strong. She knows the cover will be fantastic.

After an awkward meeting at the coffee shop after the photo shoot, with her agent and models-'Mims,' whose real name is Sarah, goes back to California to continue to write – but there's always a trace of Sage in her mind.

As Sarah hits writers block, she decides that a good cure may be actual experience, watching cowboys work a ranch. She goes online and signs up for six weeks at a dude ranch.

On her way to the ranch, in the middle of nowhere, her car dies. After a few hours wandering around on a twisted ankle she sees a cowboy on a horse in the distance. Sage rescues Sarah. They are both shocked to meet again and realize that their pseudonyms have met during the photo shoot AND now Sarah and Sage have now met.

This is a cute and sweet [at times eye rolling] romantic book. It follows the two of them during her six weeks stay. We meet the people who are most important to Sage; his daughter and those who help him run the ranch.

This is a very innocent book, one that could be played around anyone. No need for warnings. If you are looking for an alternative to the graphic and profanity laced contemporary romance books, this may be for you.

*I received this book in exchange for my review. It was an enjoyable book with narration by Wendy Rich Stetson - who is always great. I have listened to three other books performed by Stetson and she never let the listener down. She easily flows between male and female characters; from older, hardened voices to the innocence of a budding teen relationship and everything in between. I can't wait for her next book and performance.

Full bodied intertaining read

This is a delightfully sweet read. It's full bodied with interesting characters and an engaging story, easily one you'd want to read all in one sitting. The characters are loveable and just interesting. The author does a great job of really expressing the emotions of the characters without beating us over the head with internal dialogue. At times, the transitions between scenes seemed so abrupt I stopped to and went back a few seconds wondering if I'd somehow missed something. (I Listened to the audio of this book.) However, even that didn't distract me from being totally engaged in the story. Just a really great fun listen.
And, speaking of listening, this book was narrated by Wendy Rich Stetson. This narrator is new to me. I was offered this audiobook as an ARC and her sample was what sold me and made me decide to take a chance on it. And, Ms. Stetson does not disappoint. Her voice and interpretation of characters pulls you right in and makes you feel like you're right there. Her characterizations are feeling and real, her voice very easy to listen to and engaging. This book had women, men, teens, and accents and she expertly delivered them all while telling a story in a way that keeps the listener tuned in to every word. Will definitely be listening to more from these two!

The Author and the Model

Would you listen to Dream Kisses again? Why?

Yes, cute romance with fun characters.

Have you listened to any of Wendy Rich Stetson’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the teen realized her dad liked her favorite author.

Any additional comments?

This was a fun read. It was a lite touch with a sweet romance for all ages. The couple has a slow start, but all is well that ends well. Maybe a little too many tears for my liking but, over all a fun read. I will listen again.
