Publisher's summary

Once upon a time, I was a mute captive who wished for death. Now, I'm stowed away on a yacht. Saved and taken, the thief who stole me demands my voice, my past, my everything. I won't give in. But Elder refuses to take no for an answer. He pushes and cajoles, slowly discovering who I am. Until I find out he plays the cello to escape his demons, all while his music conjures mine. He's rich, I'm bankrupt. I'm mute by choice, he's curious by nature. So many reasons why we can never work. But that doesn't stop our connection, our passion. Until one night, he ruins everything. And our relationship becomes twisted and full of sin.

Where were you?

Wow I don't have the words to describe how this book series has shacking me to my core. I NEED MORE!!! I HATE CLIFFHANGERS but this book intrigued me to a point of no return. This was my first time listening to the work of Pepper Winters and I'm hooked. The narration was on point as well. I highly recommend this book. It's a bit dark and twisted especially book 1 but there is a light at end of the tunnel.

Awesome read

This is a dark story and the 2nd book in the series. I would recommend that you read book one before reading this one. I actually did the audio book with this book. I just love the narrators that she used. I love how through the whole book the male narrator is reading Elder’s parts and the female narrator is reading Pim’s parts.

In this book we get to see Pim’s walls start to come down little by little. We also get to see the real damage that was done mentally. Pim has two people fighting inside of her. She has innocent Tasmin and damaged Pim. Question is who is going to win at the end.

Pim is not the only one in this story that has demons. Elder has demons and secrets and we see that more in this book then we did in book 2. We get to see the layers of Elder slowly ripped away. We also get to see him beat himself up more.

I am so looking forward to reading book 3 and find out what happens next.

Progress

Elder is slowly showing his true side in this frustrating game he plays with Pim... she shows signs of comfort in his possession... they both crack eventually, but at what price?

Amazzzzzzing

Not for the squimish of soul; this is a heart-mending heartbreak which tares asunder all preconceived notions of love's healing power through lust's consuming blaze. A strong case for how those victimized by humanity's evil can lend strength to one another and that not all misery loves company...some misery can rebuild trusts...

I want more more more!!!

This book is definitely a less painful story, just as well written and intriguing as the first. However this book offers tiny hints at hope and joy and pleasure, of resurrection and rebirth amidst a painful and confusing recovery and questionable future.. begging to know what comes next or possibly what could have been.

Wow!!!

What did you love best about Dollars?

The very last chapter.

What did you like best about this story?

Her struggle to adjust to her new found freedom and life with Elder.

Which scene was your favorite?

The last couple chapters where Elder teach her to play and understand the cello.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When they first had sex (at the end) and she finally say his name and than she finally released her angry at Elder.

Any additional comments?

This poor girl. I was first very frustrated with this book but then at the end, I understood that I can never understand her situation and what she is going through.

Amazing!

I don't think ill be able to ever put down all of my thoughts about this book into a review. It was such a wild ride. I am still shook to the core from reading/listening to this book. I think the narrators did an amazing job with this book. They really brought the characters to life and made reading and learning about them so much more easy to understand!
