Critic reviews

"Sin, a Sumerian fertility god turned Vegas casino owner, and Kat, the zealous servant of bossy Greek goddess Artemis, knock boots and kick butt in Kenyon's juicy...paranormal love-fest." ( Publishers Weekly)

Really Good Story, Not So For The Narrator!!!!

This is a fantastic series and i do like it... i'm a bit tired from the sex parts in each single book, but other than that, its a fantastic series.

This book was a really good one, story plot was fantastic, but narration wasn't so much, Fred Berman does a really good job with his narration, especially for a perticular demon we all love and Acheron does too... Also Fred Berman does the same great job with Acheron, but in this book the narraction made both of them a bit normal... and that wasn't right... I TELL YOU IT WASN'T NORMAL!!!!!

In the past few books we got to know Cat, here you get to know her past, and her present , here you read about her and about a dark hunter who used to be a God.

I liked this book, and i like this series, but changing the narrators every few books is too annoying, and i am not a big fan of that.

Again, good story, good book, bad narrator.

Awesome!

This was my first Sherrilyn Kenyon novel. I loved the story and Holter Graham is one of the best narrators out there! It's a shame the entire series is not available. Previous narrators have been so SOOOOO awful they literally drive the listener to distraction. With any luck, Harper Collins will record the missing novels from the Dark Hunter series. If so, I REALLY hope they use Holter Graham or Fred Berman as narrators. They're fantastic!

Typical Dark Hunter, narrator not to my taste

The book is a typical Dark-Hunter, so while it's not high literature, its entertaining and fulfils everything you'd expect from the author. You also find out more background info about the enigmatic Acheron, which was quite to my taste!
Where I seem to disagree with most other reviewers is in the narrator: This more or less ruined the audio book for me. With Kenyon's writing being rather blatant by itself, the exaggerating and over-emphasizing style of the narrator definitely crosses the line to the ridiculous. I found myself halfway between laughing and embarassment....
I find that a female narrator suits this type of book much better and rather liked the one doing "The Dark Side of the Moon".

HATE the Narrator!! I'm done!

As much as I've grown to love these characters, I can't put myself through another full book with Holter Graham telling the story!! He is HORRIBLE!!! Aside from him pronouncing Acheron (Asheron) wrong through the ENTIRE book....he absolutely RUINED Simi!!!! Her sing, songy wit is HER! Fred Bergman has spoiled us and Graham butchered her!!! I looked forward to the Dark Hunter series (not the Dream Hunter) and the next one is Acheron.....narrated by Graham. There is no way in Hell would I be able to tolerate over 23 hrs of him mispronouncing Ash's name!!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!!!! He should've probably done some research, by maybe listening to the previous books....before he agreed to take the job!! Oh well.....on to another series....I'm done with this one!!

Narrator needs to listen to 1st few books!!

What did you like best about Devil May Cry? What did you like least?

Loved the story, hated the narration. Mr. Graham didn't pronounce names correctly, horrible accents - really too bad he didn't listen to any of the first few books so at least he could get the names correct. If this is your first in the series, you won't know the difference. If not, be prepared! I was so disappointed after reading the great reviews. He really ruined it for me.

Loved It!

Just did my 2nd and a half listen. Love Holter Graham's voice. Love the insouciance with which he interprets Kenyon's dialogue. I also love Kenyon's way with a metaphor. And once again let me say that Graham's voice as Sin is "dead sexy, baby!" I listen to him just to help me go to sleep then get caught up. Come on! If you like paranormal romance audiobooks, you'll like this book.

Holter Graham has the hottest voice!!!!

Holter Graham is the BEST narrator I've ever listened to. It is amazing how he can create a different sexy voice for every character in Sherrilyn Kenyon's books. This story was great too. Holter, please please please narrate more of her books!

new reader not as good as before IMHO

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

of course i would recommend all sherrilyn kenyon books to friends.

Who was your favorite character and why?

as always Acheron is my fave character.

What didn’t you like about Holter Graham’s performance?

Mr. Graham's performance was ok, except for the voice of Simi and Acheron, plus he didn't pronounce Acheron's name correctly by the other characters. Ash-er-on is the correct way, not Ak-er-on. I know that is a small thing, but it bothered me.

Did Devil May Cry inspire you to do anything?

Narrator needs work

Any additional comments?

Can we say study the names of characters before we record. The narrator butchered the names of characters just terrible. Even worse the editing company did not catch it or someone tell him.. HELLO
