Interesting but...

Interesting detective story but something's a little off. Most of the book casually uses Christian language like someone praying they'd be found, God given gift etc But then there's a detailed sex scene that usually isn't included in these types of books. It was so out of place, as if it was just obligatory? Very odd.

Terrible narrator

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I haven't finished it yet and I am not sure I will. I dislike the narrator that much

How did the narrator detract from the book?

She sounded like a total amateur. Not very professional.

Was Desperate Choices worth the listening time?

If it was done by a different narrator, perhaps.

I may go buy the paperback. I don't think I can tolerate the narrator any longer and I am only to chapter 3.

Just too slow moving for me

The characters and the basic story are very good. The narration is very good. However, the book seemed to be too slow moving for me.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Desperate Choices?

The growth of the characters through out the book. Even how total strangers thrown together caused them to care.

What aspect of Tiffany Cole’s performance would you have changed?

Perhaps been more ..animated...not sure, really.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The love scene. I love how he understood what she needed.

I highly recommend this book.

Good pacing

The author does a good job with the pacing of this story; we have long-buried secrets revealed, the perspective of both protagonists, and multi-character input in the ongoing situation all in the same kettle. Keeping all that together into a harmonious storyline took some talent for pacing and storytelling. Without revealing anything, we get a good insight into all these characters, and yet despite that there is still some dramatic tension.

Corny..

My first impression was this story was written for a young audience, then a Christian audience, but then there were the badly written sex and the ghost whisperer....so I have no idea what is going on. But this was a bad choice for me, and that is the nicest thing I can say.
