Publisher's summary

Once, Sarah Bingham's biggest challenge was making her students pay attention in class. Now, after rescuing a wounded stranger, she's landed in the middle of a battle between corrupt vampires and powerful immortals who also need blood to survive. Roland Warbrook is the most compelling man Sarah has ever laid hands on. But his desire for her is mingled with a hunger he can barely control...

In his nine centuries of immortal existence, no woman has tempted Roland as much as Sarah. But asking her to love him is impossible---when it means forfeiting the world she's always known, and the life he would do anything to protect.

Wonderful

Awesome story, and wonderful storyline. the perfect beginning to a world of immortals and all of the complications that come along with them. Sarah and Roland's story is a cute one, and I can't wait to see if we get anymore of their story from the following books.

Great tale!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Love the introduction to

What did you like best about this story?

I thoroughly enjoyed the plot and the way Duvall developed the characters.

What does Kirsten Potter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She PERFORMED the book. Kudos to this narrator.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Vampires are immoral; Guardians are immortal!

Any additional comments?

One negative thing to say about this book - actually most of the books by female authors I've read. There is WAY to much emphasis on sex. To think that we guys get hammered for being obsessed. Sometimes a hint is better than an explanation of every detail. It is uncomfortable listening to this book while at work which is where I usually listen. I find myself looking around to see if anybody is listening. In this world today, it's too easy to offend someone and the details are a bit TOO detailed for my taste.

Now to the writer's credit, she did an excellent job starting the book off with ACTION. While it navigated through the usual, expected valleys, it still maintained my fascination with the characters and the plot. The introduction to two

USUALLY I DON'T WRITE REVIEWS....BUT....

Would you consider the audio edition of Darkness Dawns to be better than the print version?

Although I have not read the print version of Darkness Dawns I enjoyed it immensely.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Darkness Dawns?

There were several memorable moments captured in this audio book most notably between the relationships of varying characters.

What about Kirsten Potter’s performance did you like?

Kirsten Potters narration was wonderful!!! Her varying intonations of the many different characters both male & female kept one intrigued and interested.. I found the theme of the audio book complimentary to her abilities.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The book was fast paced from the beginning to end urging you to find out what's happening next.

The plot was neither complex nor simple. The bits of humor were appropriate and funny and the characters (considering this is fantasy) were convincing.
