Publisher's summary

An English knight with inner demons meets the Scottish lass who will kill those demons....

Following a terrible tragedy that robbed him of his wife, the dark and fiery second son of the Wolfe of the Border finds solace in battle....

Quick to temper, and an aggressive fighter, Troy de Wolfe is at the helm of his father's army when it subdues a smaller castle south of Kelso. Assuming command, Troy is in the heart of Scots territory and the Scots aren't happy about it one bit. Trying to gain peace with a powerful clan, Troy is tricked into fighting a warrior of the clan chief's choosing. Imagine his surprise when that warrior turns out to be the clan chief's daughter....

And Troy is forced to marry her.

So begins a very volatile - and very funny - relationship between Troy de Wolfe and Rhoswyn Whitton Kerr. But the contentious relationship soon becomes one of genuine affection and eventually love, and Rhoswyn must call upon her warrior skills to save her husband against those clansmen who would see him harmed. Follow Troy and Rhoswyn to the end of their happiness rainbow among the gentle hills of the Scottish marches.

Pure Beauty and Powerful!!

Troy was a twin to Scott de Wolfe. They were the eldest sons of William and Jorden. Both twins had lost their wives and young children by drowning. Scott drowned his sorrows by leaving and hadn’t been seen for two years. Troy had stayed home to help his father and he had gone dark. He had been known to kill men with his bare hands in a fight. Then one day he was pitted in a fight, one on one. He didn’t know he would be facing a Scottish woman until she took her helmet off. Then things got heated up!
The sound of Brad Wills voice gave me chill bumps and they brought along all of their friends! This narrator is the best I have ever heard! Exciting story, exciting narration. Don’t miss this one.

DarkWolfe

I have immersed myself in all things Kathryn Le Veque. I can't tell my fellow readers how many books I have read of hers, but I know I'm fascinated with her stories. Darkwolfe is a romance, but it is also about a woman that lived in shadows of her father's dreams. Rhoswyn was not your typical medieval female, she was taught to fight like a knight. But she was never taught the skills of how to run a household, and how to be a wife; this is where the journey begins for Rhoswyn and Troy.

Neither of them want the other, but circumstances push them together and causing them to surrender to love and a future they could not possibly imagine. I'm always in awe of how Kathryn Le Veque gives her characters depth, and how her stories go beyond romance. I wanted to cry for Rhoswyn at times. She was someone so depleted of love that it hurt. A few times Troy made me angry, and I was angry at Keith for putting his daughter in a situation where she could possibly never know the love of a man.

This was good story, and it also helped that the narration was very good. It was so good that I was annoyed that I had to stop a few times to actually live in the real world, and handle real world business.  LOL.

I "ADORED" Troy & Rhoswyn..

Oh the antics, humor, and romance of these two amazing characters is perfection.. Troy & Rhoswyn will knock your socks off! Totally credit worthy! And I'm definitely acquiring a listening ear for Mr Wills... his voice is perfect for Troy and his female voices are improving. I'm still smiling over this one.

DarkWolfe

DarkWolfe by Kathryn LeVeque was just the BEST! I loved Troy. His Scots wife was a handful but willing to learn. The ending was so sweet and wrapped the book up nicely.

They were exactly what the other needed.

A father wanting to have his only daughter wed. However, her warrior demeanor did not appeal to most men. So a plan is concocted, and a tale begins.

Hate to give a good story away, so I will say not more, other than it is dramatic and heartwarming.

Amazing story telling of a tragic loss & new love

Troy de Wolfe is the second son by only fifteen minutes behind his twin brother Scott de Wolfe, they are sons of the powerful, legendary English border lord, Sir William de Wolfe. Troy and Scott’s life were changed forever when a tragic accident claimed the lives of their wives and children. They all were swept away in a drowning accident in which Troy lost his beloved his wife and two small daughters. He vows to honor his wife’s memory and vows to never marry again. Troy quickly became the dark and fiery second son of the Wolfe of the Border always obedient to his father, William de Wolfe and in charge of his army war machine.
For two years now he’s merely existed, living from battle to battle. Not far from his father’s outpost, Castle Questing the De Wolfe army has just finished removing reiver from Monteviot Tower, property of Red Keith Kerr. The Wolfe has invaded Red Keith’s territory and Red Keith shows up and proposes a battle between the best de Wolfe warrior and the best Kerr warrior to decide final ownership of the Monteviot outpost with the winner deciding their prize and Sir William de Wolfe accepts the challenge. What they don’t expect is the best Kerr warrior to be is a women, Rhoswyn Whitton Kerr the chief Red Kerr’s daughter, she quite takes Troy by surprise and wins the battle. Troy loses and her father’s request takes them all by surprise when he asks for a marriage and an important alliance with the powerful de Wolfe family. Troy vows to never marry and poor Rhoswyn has no desire to marry, she’s brought kicking and screaming to the wedding ceremony. She grew up with no friends, no woman to teach her, so she was raised her to be a warrior.
After the marriage she wants to be a good wife, but she doesn’t know how. It was so touching to see how much patience Troy had with a wife he never wanted. Rhoswyn seemed to bloom as the story went under Troy’s guidance and patience to teach her. She realized Troy is a good man and warrior and wants to please in every way, if only she can. Troy knows she is slowly starting to fill his empty heart and soul with meaning again, but he cannot love or care for another the heartache he could endure is too over whelming to even bear thinking about. A great love story filled with adventure, passion and a love to last a life time. This is my honest opinions after I voluntarily read a copy of this book that was provided to me with no requirements for a review.

To overcome darkness

This story of Troy de Wolfe is one of my all time favorites. I have looked forward to William and Jordan’s sons stories. Brad Wills is an awesome narrator and brought this story to life.

A Short and Sweet de Wolfe book

Another enjoyable de Wolfe book... this one felt shorter than the others but it was the right length for their story. Loved listening to it.
