Publisher's summary

Dominic, of the Dragonseeker lineage - one of the most powerful of the Carpathian lines - is desperate to go to the very heart of the enemy camp and learn their plans. There’s only one way to do so: ingest the parasitic blood of a vampire. He knows that it is a mission from which there is no return. With little time before the blood takes effect, he’ll get the information he needs, relay it to the leader of the Carpathians, and go out fighting. There is no more honorable way to end his life.

Solange Sangria is one of the last of the jaguar people, a royal pureblood, a dying species that cannot recover from bad decisions made over hundreds of years. She has long been alone, fighting to save the remaining shapeshifters from the hands of Brodrick the Terrible: her own father, who slaughtered her family and everyone she loved. Wounded and weary, she plans one last battle, hoping to stop the man who has made an alliance with the vampires, accepting that she will not come out alive.

They are two warriors who have lived their lives alone. Now, at the end of their time, they find each other - an obstacle neither saw coming, and which neither can hope to ignore.

Awesome book!

I could barely put the book down. Once the story got started, I was completely hooked. During lunch, I found myself running out to the car to listen to the book. Of course, the ending was great! Truly another Dark Series success.

Dark Peril

Another great book from Christine Feehan! Absolutly loved the fact it was narrated by a man and woman. It added so much to the story I'm goning to look for more audible books in this format. Can't go wrong with this one.

Excellent listening!

Christine Feehan again delights me with her wit and imagination. For those unfamiliar with her writing, this is definitely a romance novel. I wouldn't go so far as a previous reviewer in calling it pornographic, but it definitely has great sex scenes (as one might expect with a romance novel).

I absolutely love CF's novels. My favorites being the Dark Series and the Ghost Walker series. She's an amazing writer and her stories are well told.

Great!

My first intro to C. Feehan's world was wonderful. I really enjoyed the vivid characters, the creative ways she made the known new, steamy steamy scenes, and lastly the way she described the forest. My only regret is that the novel wasn't long enough. She was longer on things that were minute but not long enough in others that really would have enhanced the storyline. I would say she could have easily added another 15 hours if not more.
Can't give 5 stars because that is only reserved for Gabaldon! :)

Narrators

I think this is one of the best narration I have listened to in a long time. I love the gentle alpha males.

Almost as good as the last one

This story was almost as good as #20. It had some unique elements which quelled the monotony of the repeating pattern, of the series. This couple had much more time for their relationship to develop. There was also a resolution to one of the ongoing conflicts. In addition, this team of dual narration keep continuing to improve. I think you will enjoy this novel.

This is the 2nd Carthpathian novel I read...

The male and female voice narrations gave depth and life to the love story. I fell madly in love with Dominic right along with Solange. The poetry at the beginning of each chapter, just wonderful; the poetry enhanced the love story and made it much more moving. There was lots of passion, but the tenderness of love story is what I can't forget. Together the two heros where invincible. I couldn't put this book down. I devoured the novel in 2 days; and then played it again. There are a lot of Carpathian books, but I recommend this one as a must read. I been looking through the series for my next thriller!, This book is the second Dark Series Novel that I've read; I read the Author,s Edition of the Dark Prince, Book 1. Both stories were page turning, but I must say that I enjoyed this book more, because the heroine was a fiece, strong, and a couragous warrior, as well as sweetly feminine and vunerable to her man. The lovers were hot, hot, hot...this is one of the best erotic fantasies I have every read.
