Publisher's Summary

Aidan, the Wolf of Awe, has abandoned the Brotherhood and forsaken his vows. Feared by all and trusted by none, he hunts alone, seeking vengeance against the evil that destroyed his son. He has not saved an Innocent in 66 years - until he hears Brianna Rose's scream of terror across centuries, and leaps to modern-day Manhattan to rescue her....

Brie is a gifted empath who spends her time fighting evil from the safety of her laptop - and fantasizing about the medieval Highlander she met just once. Still, her life is pretty ordinary - until she awakens one night consumed with Aidan's pain and rage. When Aidan suddenly appears and takes her hostage, Brie cannot believe how dark and dangerous he has become. She knows she should be afraid, but instead, she will fight across time for his redemption...and his love.

Fuhgedda boud it

I bought this one because I had enjoyed the other books in the series. I think it is a safe bet to say you can skip this one, and not miss a bit of information that won't be explained by the author in the next book. The heroine was so pathetic that had she been a real person I would have revoked her right to breath. The author limited her dialogue to "..we have to help him", I swear I heard that phrase every other minute in the audio. I hope the author gets back on track with believable pairings in the next book, and gives the heroine a personality for goodness sake!

really weak heroine

interesting storyline, but weakly held together... heroine could be strong and empathetic at the same time instead she just comes across as weak

Aidan and Brianna

Wow! This is my favorite Masters of Time book. Aidan is dark and sexy, but gentle and devoted to Brenna. I hope they make an appearance in every Masters of Time book. I like the way Joyce shows a little bit of Aidan in both of the preview book. By the time he has his own book, Dark Embrace, you would forgive him anything. He totally deserves someone like sweet innocent Breanna!

++Very Good++

I cant wait to read the next book, going to buy it now. I love reading this as well as watching it on TV. It's a little different from the TV series. But still the same, you will understand what I mean once you read and watch the show. I thought it would be a waste of time since I already knew what happend on the show. I was way wrong. Its worth reading and watching. The narrator sounds just like the girl on the show. Buy it you will be glad you did. It does not matter if you have already watch the first season its still very good.

Another Good Concept Ruined

This sounded fun to me. Time travel, demons, werewolves. But UGH, I hate whiny heroines. Brie started out with such potential, shy, smart, empathic, surrounded by great family members and a fascinating boss, but by the end, I was just hoping that the demon would get her. On the other hand, the main character could be so annoying. He hated his father so much he wanted to be just like him?? Please! He had great flashes of a personality worth rescuing, but whined as much as a half demon werewolf could without being shunned or eaten by the rest of the pack. On the other hand, if Brie had said "we have to save him" one more time I might have screamed. What we as readers can only imagine happened in the non-existent epilogue was that "good Aiden" finally went truly insane having to listen to Brie's constant desperate whining.

There is a vague possibility that the plot might have been improved with the replacement of the narrator. Her brogue was painful and I can put some of the blame for the whiny characters on her shoulders.

If you want to try a better plot about a good guy gone bad and a woman "rescuing" him, try Karen Marie Moning's "Dark Highlander". At least you /want/ those two to succeed and aren't rooting for the bad guy.

WONDERFUL

Great book, I couldn't put it down. Fast pace, exciting and romantic. I loved everything about it. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.The narrator was also great, she did the men's voices as good as the woman's and her pronunciation of the words and fast reading added to the excitement of the book.

Hot Highlanders and Time Travel!

Wow, I loved this book. Aidan is the perfect hero. He is stong, handsome, and gregarious. Then after witnessing a horrible tragedy he isolates himself and turns away from the brotherhood of Masters sworn to protect innocence. He is on a self distructive path embracing his dark side until he crosses paths with a shy computer geek from the future.
