Publisher's summary

"He owns you. Whatever he tells you to do, you do."

One year. No future. A past that won't go away.

Lennox "Nox" Demetri broke his own rule by making a deal. It may not have been directly with the devil, but that doesn't mean Satan himself isn't watching. Was it fate that brought Charli into his life and his bed? What will happen when rules are broken and secrets are revealed?

"New rules...my rules."

Alex "Charli" Collins found pleasure with Nox like she'd never known. That was before she knew his last name. Now that infidelity is involved and the rules have changed, what will result when real life and fantasy collide? Is it really cheating if you're doing it to yourself?

Held my attention, but does get repetitive.

Would you consider the audio edition of Cunning to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I like Nox the best and enjoyed the story most when he narrated. He got to the point, where as the interactions with Charli and Adelaide were getting frustrating. I do like how there is a back story on Adelaide and is told from her point of view.

Have you listened to any of Samantha Prescott and Brian Pallino ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was as good as the first book in the series.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I couldn't listen to it all at once. This book tends to be repetitive at times and I found myself getting annoyed at the characters and why they don't just communicate. Charli needs to be more firm in what she does and just put an end to contact with Bryce and her family. She doesn't stand up for herself with them all the way, only slightly. That can get annoying and I can only take it in small doses. This book boasts that Charli is a strong-willed heroine, but I have not seen that so far.

Any additional comments?

I just bought the third installment, but I am afraid that it will be more of the same round and round as book 2. I hope I'm wrong...

every part of this book made me want to keep listen. it is a cliff hanger like no other but so much happens in this book think I need little break to process it all. In a good way. the story gets twisted so many time in such a creative way that keeps you guessing and smiling. can't wait for next 3 book.

TICK TICK BOOM, TICK TICK BOOM WENT THE PLOT

Charli didn't know what lay ahead for her now that she's the property of Nox for one whole year.... to do with her whatever he likes - but nothing could have prepared her for this very different version of Nox. Gone is the thoughtful kind lover from their time in Del Mar and in his place is a cold, ruthless and controlling version with many secrets and an untouchable and unspoken past. But just when Charli loses all hope of ever seeing the nice side of Nox again he surprises her yet again.... and continues to confuse and shock the ever lovin Hell out of her with his revelations.

There's some things Nox wants Charli to know however there's A LOT that he's keeping back from her..... partly for her own good and partly for his benefit. His ruthless Father comes into the story to further complicate things and throws a spanner in the works when he announces that, not only does he know exactly who Charli really is, but that he's also met her Mother. There's also a sub story told from her Mother's POV giving the backstory to her choices and life - which includes revelations, twists and a wicked plan that's centered around Charli's life and future.... a despicable plan that was brokered when Charli was just a child. The Chess pieces are starting to make their moves, lay their traps and sacrifice their pawns.... but who will be the victor, what will the cost be and when "check mate" is finally called which pieces will still be left on the Board???

I couldn't wait to jump right into this second instalment.... however N O T H I N G could have prepared me for the mind blowing revelations, the devious twists and the emotional roller coaster that this listen took me on. It's so well thought out with its tangled mixed up crazy web of a storyline... and, just when you think you're getting somewhere in the plot, AR throws in another spanner to toss things off course. You can't forecast or predict what'll happen next because this skilful Author has an endless supply of spanners that she randomly tosses into the mix and then you're, again, heading into the unknown.... holding on tight and praying for divine intervention.

Gripping storytelling at its very best, descriptive, addictive, explosive and scorching hot as well as being romantic, tender and touching at times too. There's a full cast of toxic, loveable and mysterious characters whose plans and destinies are yet to be revealed to us.... but whatever they are I know it's going to be a spectacular ride. Ends on another cliffhanger, dual POV's (but mainly Charli's), don't think of starting this book without first listening to book 1 and the narrators were pretty darn perfect.

Worth a credit? This is a 10 star listen that cost only 1 credit so Hell YEAH it was soooo worth using one on this absolutely awesome and addictive book.

Delves Deeper

In this second installment of the Infidelity series the author unveils more of the deep, dark secrets from the past. I enjoy the jumps from past to present, and the introduction of POVs from different characters. The plot twists just don't stop coming, and there were points when I'm sure I actually gaped in surprise. However, I am disappointed with the development of Charli and Nox's relationship. They profess to be crazy about each other, but won't trust each other enough to confide. And there seems to be a lot of unnecessary drama surrounding this. I am also not a fan of the controlling, dominant that Nox becomes in this book. He claims to be teaching Charli a lesson for her lack of judgement in signing up with Infidelity, but he just seems to come off as a possessive jerk. And I am not opposed to BDSM in stories, but all of the talk of "punishing" and "spanking" just irritated me. I guess I was hoping for more of how they were in the first book, with the intimacy, and kink, growing from there. Even with my complaints, I still enjoyed this book and feel compelled to find out what happens next. And it looks like Nox and Charli are headed in the right direction, so looks like my next credit will go to book 3. I'm still not a fan of Brian Pallino's angry narration, but Samantha Prescott has grown on me. She does a great job switching between POVs.

Loved this book ¡

I'm not great at reviewing here goes.
Loved how it picked up right where it left off.
Love all the back drama. If you think this is a couple romance story you are so wrong. It has mystery, deception, back deals and so much more! And I'm the center are Not and Charli. Just trying to get there HEA! Not crazy about the cliffhanger endings. But they do keep us coming back! I'm on to book 3.

on the edge of paradise

I loved this book except for the cliff hanger that has me salivating for the next book. Knox and Charlie are seriously an amazing pairing and what is happening to them has me crazy. This book has them deeply in love but both still have secrets which could ruin them. In this book some of them come out but not enough. I also want to strangle some of the additional characters and hug some as well. Great book but I hate hanging. Going to read the next one NOW

Story good but predictable

Love female narrator, but male ruins the image I was envisioning. Not right for part.
