Publisher's Summary

Hunter Cross has no regrets. Having left his football prospects behind the day he graduated high school, he's happy to carry out his legacy on his family's farm in the foothills of the Shenandoah. But when a shoulder injury puts him face-to-face with the high school sweetheart who abandoned town - and him - twelve years ago, Hunter's simple life gets a lot more complicated.

Emerson Montgomery has secrets. Refusing to divulge why she left her job as a hotshot physical therapist for a pro football team, she struggles to readjust to life in the hometown she left behind. The more time she spends with Hunter, the more Emerson finds herself wanting to trust him with the diagnosis of MS that has turned her world upside down.

But revealing secrets comes with a price. Can Hunter and Emerson rekindle their past love? Or will the realities of the present - and the trust that goes with them - burn that bridge for good?

3 Crossing Hearts Stars

Hmm this was a book club listen. I have mixed feelings about it.
It was a feel good book, with a HEA. So I can’t help but like that.

Hunter is a character I liked and I didn't. I think I felt like the woe is me kind of fella, he does get better as the book goes along.

Emerson, I liked her spunk and her determination but I have to say I didn't like that she fought soooooooo hard to hide. I mean if that had been a patient of hers she would have put her foot down and told them suck it up and be truthful.

What I loved about this book was how these two characters were just drawn to each other. No matter that time and hurt feeling had them apart for so many years.
There were a few digs thrown about that but overall they were really good to each other.

The narrator was good, I liked how she brought the characters there own emotions. I would listen to her again for sure.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Second Change Romance

This is a second chance romance which is a big plus for me. While this book has a sweet story and a HEA I can't say that it was anything more than ok to me. My impression in the beginning was that this was going to be a sweet, sexy can't live without you kind of story but then it started to slow and I found myself hoping it was going to have some great twist or ending that would change the way i was feeling but alas it didn't. I wasn't a fan of Hunter in the beginning but he grew on me, he came across a little whiny but then he redeemed himself a little as the story progressed. It was the complete opposite for Emerson, I really liked her in the beginning, she seemed like a strong independent women but then she started to get on my nerves and I thought she became very over dramatic. Unfortunately this story didn't have anything to make it stand out for me. With that said, I did enjoy the writing and the basic plot also.

The narration was ok but the female voice was too old for Emerson in my opinion.

can't make it through this

Book is kind of over-written, you know, fakey phrases, overdone descriptions, and while I have no problem with self stimulation, I don't want to read/hear about it. And it is way over done in the narration - excessive emphasis etc to the point I'm not going to finish this.

Can two high school sweethearts forgive & forget

Emerson broke Hunter's heart after HS graduation...she rejected his marriage proposal & left town. 12yrs later and she's back as the sports medicine therapist...guess who's her 1st patient?
Hunter stayed to help run the family farm; now he needs PT on a bum shoulder so he can resume his work. Can these two forgive & forget? What secret led to Emerson's return? This was a great book. Very insightful into a common disease.

Always look on the bright side of life.

A slightly novel romance in that the heroine is not hiding the usual indiscretion . The author has taken a very delicate subject matter and treated it with care and respect so therefore making the book enjoyable. Classic story for the readers of romance books.
