Publisher's Summary

A debonair billionaire struggling to improve his company. A voluptuous personal trainer with nothing left to lose. Can their passion save the people they love?

Handsome bear shifter Walter has the vision and drive to save his family's company, but not the power. After months of watching his older, playboy brother, Raymond, destroy the family business, a drunken bet finally gives Walter the opportunity to win it all back. Everything comes down to the shifter games: a contest of strength, speed, and cunning, where the winner takes all. One problem: Walter has never won before. Until he meets the strong woman of his dreams....

Katherine is an accomplished personal trainer who has lost her job due to Raymond's negligent business practices. When she flies into town to confront him, the last thing she expects is to become embroiled in a bitter feud between the brothers, where the outcome will determine the fate of everyone she loves.

While Katherine trains Walter for the competition, private coaching gives way to life-changing passion. Will Walter be strong enough to win the games...or will his brother's devious ways crush Walter's dreams?

Coaching the Bear is a short paranormal romance novella in the Bear Shifter Games series, a set of stand-alone stories that sizzle and satisfy. If you like steamy romance, muscle-bound shifters, and magical action, then you'll love AJ Tipton's breathtaking book.

A Betting Bear..

Any additional comments?

Walter, the main lead, has a chance at saving the Family Business.

The story line picks up from there with a bet and some games.

I only wish that the story was a little longer, but,
Overall, an interesting read filled with a bit of adventure, hope and a second chance.

Audrey Lusk did well with the narration.

Fun and sexy

Any additional comments?

This audiobook was given to me for a honest unbiased review. This book was fun and sexy. I love Shifter romances, and this one was good start for a series. This was a great short story. Just long enough to help you relax, and unwind. Hope for more with these characters. Will put this author on my automatic read list.

Short Shifter Romance

“I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher

Katherine is a trainer at a hotel in Hawaii that's always been her home. She goes to confront the man running it, Raymond, and sees him at an athletic competition. He wins, but his brother Walter catches her eye.
Katherine and Walter become friends and are a romantic couple at the end.
As nice as Walter is, Raymond is a loser.
No angst, not a lot of hotness ,but a nice sweet story I enjoyed. Just not exciting, but I like that every so often, relaxing.
I just dislike this narrator and her voice in the hot scene and any real emotion. It is very contrived and she sounds old. Sorry..I just don't think she does this book justice.

Good novella

I was provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher, and/or narrator.

I have read this novella and I really enjoyed it. I hadn't yet read about bear shifters and this was a great start to the series. I liked the concept of the shifter games and the main characters were interesting. I didn't care for how quickly they fell in love, but it in no way affected how I felt about the story.

So with that being said, I did not like the narrator's voice for this book. The male speaking parts were bad and the sexy talk scenes were cringe-worthy. It sounded like maybe it was overdone and too dramatic.

So this was a good novella, but not so good narration.

Short and fun

Excellent quick listen. Plenty of humor and a good dose of action. Great narrator. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Not for me

Really wanted to like this, but couldn't get into it. Characters felt flat and uninteresting. I did find the idea appealing but that's about where my interest ended. Didn't care for the narration, especially the male voices.

3 1/2 Stars - A Nice, Enjoyable Listen

I found this a fun and enjoyable read/listen. The story is a solid 3.5 or 4-stars and I even found myself laughing out loud in a few places. The author does a good job with the characters and pacing of the story. I liked the humor and interaction between the two MCs. But in honesty, I would have liked a little more tension between them. However, the interaction with Raymond, the MCs brother and our villian, helped to create drama.

I did struggle some with the narrator of this audiobook and would give it 2.5 to 3-stars. The narration was good enough that I still enjoyed the story but not enough that I would listen to it a second time. I had trouble with her male voices. I have listened to plenty of audiobooks with female narrators voicing male characters and know that it can be done very well. But in this case, I felt the pacing and tones of the male MCs were off. As though in trying to create a distinct male voices, the narrator slowed herself down. I also had some trouble distinguishing between them.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read/listen but not something I will repeat. I liked the author's story enough to pick up more of her books. I would even listen to another one, now that I know what to expect.

I was given this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Wonderful short story

I really liked how the book started out right in the middle of the conflict. there was no wasting time with a super long imposing back story but how it was added in here and there so you still knew and understood why the characters did what they did. This book made me laugh at one spot that made me actually snort. The characters are well developed, much better than most short stories, and they are either likeable or hateable from the first meeting which is Wonderful!! if you like/love shifter books, this one is definitely one to read/listen to!!

Bite-size paranormal romance

Despite being a novella, this book has a little of everything expected from a shifter romance. It has the elemental sex, the chemistry and the clash between shifters (though this presents itself in the form of a sport competition rather than a physical fight). AJ Tipton has even included some typical billionaire corporate romance aspects in the mix.

I suppose I like a little more of everything, especially the sexually charged tension between the protagonists. That said, this is a fun book to listen to if you want to sink your teeth into something short, paranormal and a little bit muddy!
