Charming Romance with Great Characters

Cabe and Megan are friends who were always meant for each other despite a feud between their families. Charming romance and highly enjoyable, I recommend this book. Wonderful characters and funny families. Great read for the winter or any other time.

Sweet, second chance romance........

Christmas with the Bear is the fourth and final book in the Bear Shifter Games series. Once again, this book can easily be read as a standalone, although I recommend all four books. This story features Cabe, an architect living in California, and Megan, a scientist living in their hometown. They meet again after 10 years apart when Cabe is home for a visit with his family. These two where best friends throughout school. They both wanted more but could never admit it due to insecurities and a long-standing feud between their families. Luckily, they find their way back to each other, and this leads to some steamy times and some external conflict on the way to their HEA.

Audrey Lusk narrates all four books in the series, which is nice for consistency. Her performance is smooth and relaxed, and I was able to over look her over emphasis at times of stress or high emotion to ultimately enjoy this production.

Family Feud

Some feuds will never end. Some feuds no one even knows how or when they started. This Christmas it will either end or start anew. The narrator does a good job with all the different voices.

Cute Christmas-y Story

This was a super cute story and a relatively quick read. Despite the conflict between families, and then Megan and Cabe themselves, this was a rather lighthearted book. It is HEA and ends with no cliffhanger. I have not yet read the previous books in the Bear Shifter Games series, so I can't say whether having read those first would've been beneficial (I went straight for this one because it's Christmas), but, as I understood everything that went on in the book, so I know reading the previous books isn't necessary. While this book takes place during the Christmas season, Christmas itself doesn't have a large role the book.

Modern shifter spin on Romeo and Juliet

The whole warring families business made me think of Romeo and Juliet. This modern shifter story has a few similarities but also some differences.

Cabe and Megan have great chemistry between them and such a sweet back story. I really enjoyed listening to this book.

The narration is well done. I wish the narrator would change her style of narration for the sex scenes, I find her over dramatization annoying and distracting, while narration should be engaging she tries way too hard. The character voices are distinct and recognizable and the pace of the delivery is natural and smooth.

Ridiculous Narration

This is one of the worst narrations I have ever heard!! The narrator sounds as if she is purposefully trying to make the characters sound like a bunch of stereotypical dumb jocks (female characters included!) I wish I could give it negative stars since I hate to even give it one.

I had a hard time getting into this book because of the narrator, Audrey Lusk. I will try again at a later date. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
