Publisher's summary

Hannah Rhodes has just gotten out of a long-term relationship, and she isn't looking for a new man in her life. But after a night out with the girls and one too many tequila shots, her plans to stay man-free are blown all to hell. She finds herself in bed with the smoldering stranger from a party six months back and immediately knows she's in trouble, big trouble. And the last thing Hannah needs is more trouble.

Her last relationship took her out like an emotional freight train, and she's trying to piece back the stability her life once had.

Greyson Holt's biggest fear in life is to end up like his father, like the man who left him as a child and broke his mother's heart. He vowed to never be responsible for that kind of carnage. Men could be cruel, and that kind of brutality was in his blood. He never allows himself to get too close to anyone, until he meets Hannah.

Something about her makes him want to try, but a man can't change overnight.

Will Holt be able to catch Rhodes every time he lets her go? Or will their chase end in heartbreak?

False advertisement

I chose this book for aiden snow and we get 10 minutes of him at the end. What a joke. He should’ve narrated the entire book. Not worth listening too

A Good, Fun, Sexy Book With Great Narration!

I really enjoyed this book. Just at a time when I needed a good fun-loving story this popped up and it was exactly what I needed. No it wasn't angsty, it wasn't really deep but that is exactly what I was looking for . This was a fun, very sexy book with a great couple and just as great secondary characters. I love a bossy alpha male and Greyson is so good at it. I can't wait for the next book on audio!

The narration was great! I love Duel narration but these two even did good with the opposite sex voices!

Crazy Alpha Tendencies

Let me start by saying that I actually liked the story and will listen to the next book in the series. If you like obsessively possessive and borderline murderous alpha males and heroines that run like a deer when they think that they are going to hear/see something that makes them uncomfortable, this series is definitely for you.

This review is from a male perspective so you may take it with a grain of salt.

Why 2 Stars?

1. The H is scary obsessive after one day.
2. Sweetheart, constantly
3. The h allows the H to completely control her which seems to me to be very unhealthy.

I am not sure why someone can see an overly obsessive alpha as desirable. They say things like "I will kill any guy who even looks at my woman"? How does that not make you run in the opposite direction?

Unlikable characters.

The main reason I wanted to listen to this one is that I saw that Aiden Snow was one of the narrators. All I got of him was one short chapter towards the end of the story. Lucy Rivers did a pretty good job though it was a little dramatic for me.

It is really hard to get into a story when you just really do not like the characters at all. Greyson was an emotionally abusive jerk. I am all for alpha men with issues but there has to be some sort of redeeming qualities. He keeps going off on her and saying the most hurtful horrible things and then says " Sorry, it will never happen again." It does happen again though. Not only does Hannah and everyone around him just keep letting him do it but they push her forgive him. A couple of times I though Hannah was actually going to grow a backbone, but nope.

This just wasn't the story for me. Maybe it would have been a little different if I had read it instead of listening. I don't think I will continue with the series though.

Toxic relationship.

The heroine is so weak. The hero always does the wrong thing and lashes out at her and all it takes is him coming back saying sorry and then they have sex. The last f up he didn’t even apologize before she was throwing herself in his arms. And don’t get me started on her friends and own mother ‘a HORRIBLE advice . This is a prime example why women stay in abusive relationships. This is a great example of what NOT to do.

I’m not quite sure where to start other than just wasn’t good

This story lacked so many things and I’m not sure if this is the authors first book or what but it was just devoid of emotion. There is a severe lack of connection between the hero and heroine and there’s absolutely no character development for the hero. you get glimpses of the fact that the hero has a troubled past but you can’t even connect the attraction between the hero and the heroine it’s just so vanilla. I think the story definitely has potential but they’re just needs to be a lot more work on a backstory for each as well as some form of true conflict that is not based on immature high school behavior. of the main characters I seriously got a kick out of knowing more about the minor characters in the story and knew that the story was going nowhere when I wanted to know more about the minor characters and could really care less about what was going on between the hero and in the heroine. This story needed a male narrator to play the roll of the hero or at least switch from first person to third so the audience could get a glimpse of how the hero was feeling. Only telling the story they the heroines eyes just made the story weaker.

I had to stop with one hour to go. I just couldn’t take it anymore. And I did not have a problem with the female narrator. Even she couldn’t save this atrocity. I mean where was Aiden Snow anyway?

What a waste of my time

What a waste of my time! This story had absolutely not plot. The scenes did not flow from one to the other and the lack of transitions just left you lost wondering “wait what did I miss?” The language was awkward in many places.
The lack of a sensible story line made this painful to listen to. I finally just couldn’t take it any longer with an hour left in by the book leaving me with a pit in my stomach mourning the three hours I will never get back.
Do yourself a favor and skip this one. I will never get another book by this author or these narrators because they were terrible too.
Recommend that you MISS THIS TITLE ALTOGETHER IN ORDER TO SAVE YOURSELF FROM A MAJOR LET DOWN!!!

Too much sex!

I want more of a story and an occasional sex scene. I understand wanting to show the relationship physically, but not in every moment of the story. Just about every scene either involves sex or sexual thoughts . The alpha male is borderline abusive, controlling and overly jealous. I guess if that's what you're into it would be a good listen, but I need a better plot and a more realistic storyline. I didn't finish it.

Not an overwhelming love story

This story is an okay beginning for a new series. That being said it was not an overwhelming story, and one that I would consider an average love story.

Hannah and Greyson are the main characters of the book, but I found the sub-characters entertaining. Hannah first meets Greyson when she is in a committed relationship. She met him at a party and then apparently forgot about him. Fast forward a few months and she is single and after a night of bar hopping with her friends finds herself waking up the next morning in Greyson's bed. No memory of what occurred the night before.

Greyson and Hannah end up beginning to date, but from the beginning he shows jealous tendencies and what the book refers to as "alpha male" behavior. Hannah's previous relationship failed because of her bf's manic behavior. Greyson begins to exhibit some of the same tendencies and Hannah has to determine if she is up to the challenge of fighting the demons that have shaped Greyson's behavior.

The story attempts to bring to light some of the baggage that can occur from an abusive childhood, but as I stated earlier the story just did not capture my interest. It was a good listen, I used a credit, but I would suggest waiting for a sale.
