Publisher's summary

Win at any cost. That's always been the mantra of sports agent Liz Darnell. When she carries things too far and risks losing her number-one client, baseball pro Gavin Riley, Liz realizes that she'll have to work extra innings to win him back. It might not be too much of a stretch. She's had a thing for this player's moves since she first laid eyes on him, and by the looks of it, he wants her just as bad.

Gavin's more than ready - especially when Liz is offering herself as part of the bargain. And as much of her as Gavin wants. For added thrills, he decides to throw a little curve ball Liz's way to see just how far she's truly willing to go to keep him as a client. But when love unexpectedly enters the playing field, neither Liz nor Gavin is ready for the biggest game-changer of them all.

IT WAS PURELY PHYSICAL BUT THEN IT BECAME PERSONAL

First of all I give 5 stars to whoever is responsible for the cover picture - get a load of that...... oh and those...... not to mention the...... (right girls).

Anyway enough drooling back to the contents, I'm afraid at the start I was a bit disappointed in the first half of this book for the following reasons 1) there seemed to be a lot of 'motion' and not enough emotion or storyline..... a little conversation then sex, play Xbox then hot sex, coffee then sex, oh look at that view then.... yup you got it sex - well you get the picture. Don't get me wrong I like these types of books but there just wasn't a strong enough story to go with the repetitive sex for a lot of the book. 2) I had a little trouble at the start liking or connecting with either Liz or Gavin much as, from book 1, each of them seemed selfish and 3) there was plenty of dissing Mick from book 1 and not enough explaining or recapping just why he didn't like Liz or giving what his understandable reason was.

Having said that, as the story progressed we see more of Liz and Gavin's character traits being peeled away and their vulnerabilities and histories were revealed and the final half just sucked me right in - there was drama, conflict, arguments, heartache, passion and it was sweet, romantic and had a couple of lovely ahhhhh moments - and yes followed by sex of course.

Worth a credit? Well of course I'm going to say YES after all who can resist a steamy escape into these passion filled listens.

Home Run for Me

I loved the first book and I loved this one. I like the plot and I love the sexual chemistry between the characters. It was a one that I wanted to listen to in one sitting. Personally I'm not into baseball but I'm so into the Jaci Burton and Lucy Malone combination. In my opinion it was totally worth my credit. I intend to continue with book 3.

Better than book one by a mile!

I loved book one, and this one was way better than book one by a mile! I loved every min of this from chapter one until the very end. I even like how Mick kept popping up giving Gavin and Liz all kind of problems in their relationship from book one. And the smex.. MAN O MAN... If you thought the smex from book one was HOT.. this was Holy Teloly!!! Is that a word! This was right out of the gate SMOT-T-HOT! And that is HOT! LOved it...

Narration was just awesome.

This is a buy. Save your credit for something over 10 bucks...b/c this is on sale... so buy this.. Wait.. if sale is over.. credit this for sure!

Okay, Not my Favorite

Any additional comments?

Meh. That's really all I can say about this book. Was it bad? No way. Was it amazing? Unfortunately not. It was just . . . in the middle. My biggest complaint was the fact that all the sex started so quickly. (GASP -- I know, I know, I love my smexy books, but hear me out!). I wasn't sold on Liz from book 1, but I was willing to give her a second chance in her own book. However, this book starts off with sex pretty quickly, and I didn't yet have a chance to really KNOW Liz and/or change my mind about her. I still can't say I really connected with her or Gavin, although I suppose I liked them enough.

The narrator wasn't the best, either. Her female voices are a bit nasally, and I was able to zone out at times.

Will I read more of Burton's books? Of course; I loved the first book in this series. Will I try this narrator again? Eh, maybe, but I won't be going out of my way to do so.

MoreGreat Book In Series-Get Rid of Nasal Narrator

What did you love best about Changing the Game?

The continuation from The Perfect Play.... A falling out between Mick and Liz (his agent) sets up a tangled situation for Gavin (Mick's brother) when he makes a deal with Liz. The constant search for where each charter 'belongs' is riveting and enjoyable.

The intimate scenes are hot!

What other book might you compare Changing the Game to and why?

The Play-By-Play Series is great and I recommend reading them in order.

What didn’t you like about Lucy Malone’s performance?

Her male characters are o.k. but her female characters and narration are nasally-a bit annoying.

Any additional comments?

Adult content and strong language.

SIZZLING HOT!

This book was smoking hot! Far better than book one and hopefully an indication of books to come. The narrator is awful, but that's the worst of any major negative aspects of the story.

Horrible narrator aside, there are some books that I can immediately listen to for a second round, and this story is in that category for me. It was funny, romantic, just enough drama to make my mouth gape open a few times, and super super sexy!

Excellent, exciting and very hot

This story has lots of emotional ups and downs and characters were carried over from book 1. It was a terrific storyline and smokin hot. Great narration by Lucy Malone.

Changing The Game

Oh yes! I was not sure how Liz was going to redeem herself after the last book but Gavin has been in lust with her for years and, well, Liz has been lusting after him just as long but he is her client so he has been hands off...until he invites her over, gets her drunk and seduces her. Then convinces her to stay with him in Florida through most of spring training. This one was exceptional. Love this family and how they come together for each other. Sure there are some bumps in the road but that is expected when you have two very independent individuals and when one is a man things can get wonky. On to the next in the series!
