Publisher's summary

I’ve always let my past dictate my future, letting it paint a picture of exactly what I don’t want to be. Where I don’t want to end up.

Drake Chambers is as arrogant as I am stubborn. A college quarterback, a national star. I thought he was just another one of those guys…the type every girl should stay away from, but he’s carrying more than the weight of the football team on his shoulders.

He unravels the feelings and beliefs I’ve held on to for so long. I thought we had it all figured out. Two people who’d finally found their happily ever after, but the past always has a way of sneaking into the present.

With one decision, everything changes…forever.

Good story but male Narrator sounded too old.

I really liked this story and the Narrators were good but I had a personal issue with the male Narrators voice, in my opinion it didn’t fit the age of the character.

Better than the First?

I really like the first book, once I got past the tears and heartbreak, but I think I liked this one better. In the first one, I didn't like who the main female character ended up with, I do now. But in this one. I just liked it all the way through. I know the leading male was an ass at times but he had his reasons. And the female had her reasons for being upset with him. But the ending was wonderfully sweet. I liked both of these characters. The only problem I've found with this author is the inconsistencies that she sometimes has in the books themselves and the series as a whole. I would listen to this one again. Not so much the first one, but only because of the heartbreak and tears it caused.

Does not disappoint

Good read, not as dramatic as the first book in the series but plenty of emotion.

Loved the realness of this story!

The author does a great job of developing these characters and giving us layers upon layers of their background and character development. Stories with strong moral themes are hard to find these days, while still being entertaining and not preachy. Loved it!

Hard to review

Spoiler: This story was hard to review because I've listened other stories from this author before. I noticed that her heroine seemed to be smart and kind of independent in the beginning. As the story progressed, the heroine seemed to be apologetic and had to pick up the pieces because the hero had a hard time dealing with reality. The heroine had to chase after him because he kept running away when the h try to get close to him and when things get tough. This actions got boring and predictable. Why does the woman had to do all the work? Why made her dumb? Oh yeah, because he was a football jock! I would give this story more stars but one thing i hate is weak, dumb and contradicting heroine. I also don't mind if the hero is a jerk as long as she has backbones and made the hero work to gain her trust and get her back. Instead, she acted so tough then basically become a doormat!

Painful

The first book in this series was so good. This one was painful to get through. Jennifer Mack was great to listen to but the male voice did not fit the part, he sounded like he should have been a New Jersey cop. The story line was so predictable and the issues that were supposed to draw you in to the story were so rediculous that I found myself laughing at it. I was ready for this one to be over.

Boring story/bad narration

I loved the first book by this author. I decided to give this title a try despite negative reviews. The story moved so slow and there was nothing to draw me in. It’s not that the male narrator is bad, it’s that he does not fit the character at all. The male character is a college freshman and the narrator sounds very much like a man in his 40s. It’s actually kind of creepy listening to this voice talk about hooking up with young girls. I made it to chapter 5 and then had to give up. The story was just boring and the narration ruined it. I wouldn’t recommend spending a credit on this one.
