Publisher's Summary

My name is Jason Hart. As the best defensive lineman in the country, I eat, sleep, and breathe football. And I like it that way. I've got only a few more years before I'll have to retire, so expending energy on anything other than football seems like a waste of time.

That is until I have a random meeting with a little boy who just lost his father. We have more in common than you might think, and it creates an unlikely bond. As our friendship grows, so do my feelings for his mother.

I know Addison, as a recent widow, isn't ready to date again. But I want to get to know her better in spite of all her rejections.

Is it possible that I, a self-proclaimed bachelor, could be having a change of Hart?

Critic Reviews

"Change of Hart is an impressive debut for M.E. Carter. With just the right mix of sexy and sweet, laugh out loud one-liners and relatable characters, Carter immerses readers in a story that's much more than just a romance. I can't wait to see what's next for her." (Brenda Rothert, best-selling author of the Fire on Ice series)
"A fun and refreshing love story that is sure to put a smile on your face." (Kathryn Perez, author of I" Sex Unlimited, Love and Truth, and Jessica's Journal)
"A sweet, sexy, touching story of romance and friendship. Definitely a touchdown." (AE Woodward, author of Kismet and Working Girl)

✫✫ 4.5 Stars ✫✫

I really enjoyed this book. It was super sweet!! I love the step-dad & step-child relationship. It makes my heart melt every time. This book is almost completely written in from Jason's POV. Jason is a NFL player who knows one day he wants to settle down but not while his career is on top. Addison is a recent widow who just wants whats best for her son. Jaxson is a huge football fan and he is trying to cope with his father's death. The best thing about this book is the friendship between Jason & Jaxon. They have a connection from the time they meet. It's so cute and sweet and then comes the love story. I can't even explain how sweet all of these characters are together. It would be so hard not to fall for all three of them! This book had the perfect blend of sweet, emotional, sexy (ok maybe could have been a little sexier). These characters are the people I want in my life. I can't wait for book 2.

Jacob Morgan was fantastic in the audiobook. He truly was a perfect choice for this book, he was great for Jason, Jaxon and even Addison! Kirsten Leigh only did a very small part of this book but she was great when she did.

LOVED IT!

I so loved this book. It had just the right amount of everything, laughter, tears, heart ache, angst, etc. Oh and I really enjoyed the fact that all but the epilogue where written from the Hero's POV.

Jacob Morgan did an AMAZING job, so much so in fact that he's now tied as my favorite male narrator with Sebastian York...and believe me when I say that's sayin something. His range and ability to create distinct voices for each character, including the voices of children, and stay consistent throughout the entire story was beyond impressive.

It is 100% worth the credit, so much so that I'm off to see what else the author and Jason Morgan have out there (as this was the 1st of hers for me).

4.5 Change of Hart Stars

This book is fantastic! I am a huge fan of the narration! I am now a fan of the author too, this was a first for me by M.E. Carter and it is not going to be my last.

I really fell for how Jason was as a person, him being a football player was well just icing.

I really liked how the whole book was in Jason’s POV, you get his authentic self. I really liked the step-dad, step-child relationship even if it came from left field. I think I like that the most. He wasn’t expecting his heart to be opened up like it was. Precious is what that is.

Addison being a recent widow had me wondering how this was all going to play out and I am really glad it when the way that it did. She didn’t swoon all over Jason she was her son’s protector and that made me like her all the more.

On to the next book in this series!

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

This is a sweet story that is wonderfully narrated. Kristen Leigh narrated the epilogue and the rest was narrated be the swoon worthy Jacob Morgan. He brings just right amount of fun and charm to this story.

Some Football Love

First, I love stories involving professional athletes who are profound "Players" that finally fall in love. It never gets old to me, especially when it is written with such whit and charm as this book. I also got an extra bonus that the professional team were the Dallas Cowboys and I live in the Dallas area. I knew all the locations that were discussed in this book.

As the summary states, Jason Hart develops a relationship with a 6 year old little boy, who's dad recently dies in a tragic accident. Since Jason also lost his father at a young age, he wanted to do more for this little boy and spend more quality time with him. As a result of his heartfelt interest, Jason finally has an opportunity to meet his mother and sparks fly. Of course in "romance land" things are never easy because Addison is not interested in Jason's hot pursuit even though she is extremely attracted to this celebrity football player. Her first priority is protecting her son and her heart.

This is a fun, sexy and emotional story, but what I was not prepared for is book 2 that will rip your heart into two. I was also given the extra bonus having Jacob Morgan (who is also Zachary Webber) as a narrator. No one reads emotion like Jacob/Zachary. His voice has so sexy and charming that will make you feel like you need to take a cold shower. I also loved Kirsten Leigh narration. She does a wonderful job as Addison. 5 stars overall. Worth the purchase.

Sweet sports romance story.

I really enjoyed this audiobook, the narration was excellent. I loved the characters and the relationship that developed between an adult/child. I loved that the female character was realistic and didn't have the greatest body and the hot football player still absolutely worshiped her. I also loved the humor and chuckles I got from the banter between two male best friends in the locker room. Overall, sweet story, will listen to the second book next!

Loved hearing a guy perspective story!

I have read and written stories with both the male and female perspective, I've read the 3rd party narrator and just female perspective. It was nice to have a total guy perspective story!

ALL Heart ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

This book was written and narrated to such perfection that I have now just completed my 6th listen. This book covers all the feels. A true love story in every way. My heart is in love with these characters and the way Jacob Morgan told the story. And after this review I'm going to listen to it again and again. It's pure heart and we could all use more Hart ❤
I have read the 2nd book in the series and it is as good. It's just more real than words can express. I need the good feel that this book gives and cannot get enough. Bravo to ME Carter. Bravo to Jacob Morgan who I'm sure sounds like pure dreamy lust if he were just reading the phone book. Ms. Leigh' s part was small but I do enjoy her voice works.

I want and need more Hart. I don't want it to end.

Worth 2 credits! I listened straight through. Enjoy!

I hadn't read the blurb so had no idea what to expect. Even though the plot wasn't a surprise it had me from the first second! Really well written. Great humour, too.
I want to listen to the next right away !

Adorable, Enchanting, Wonderful...

I think Ms. Carter has become my new favorite romance novel author.

I was listening to the book in bed after my husband had fallen asleep, since I was dealing with a bit of insomnia. I laughed so hard during the scene with the monkey and the banana that my husband got up and moved to the couch. The following afternoon, I found myself tearing up as Jason dried Addison's tears after a misunderstanding near the end of the book.

This was so delightful that Im onto the second book in the life of the Harts. If it's even close to as good as the first book, it will be very enjoyable, I'm certain.
