Publisher's summary

Orphaned and besieged, Princess Alesandra knew that only hasty marriage to an Englishman could protect her from the turmoil in her own land. To the amusement of her makeshift guardian, Colin, younger brother of the Marquess of Cainewood, the bold raven-haired beauty instantly captivated London society. But when Alesandra was nearly abducted by her unscrupulous countrymen, the fighting instincts that won Colin a knighthood for valor were kindled.

Deceiving himself that he wanted only to protect her, Colin swept her into a union meant to be a marriage in name alone...yet Alesandra's tender first kiss and hesitant caress ignited a wildfire in his soul. As the lovely princess dashed headlong into unforeseen dangers, Colin would follow, knowing he must claim her as his own forever. Now he would risk life itself before he would lose this sweet, tempestuous angel....

Great book, horrible narrator

OMG!!! Julie Garwood, one of my favorite authors did a splendid job with this story and the ending I believe to the Crown Spies series unless another pops up. The narrator however, I would think twice about listening to another book that she narrates. Her character voices were horrible and I nearly died with the pronunciation of "Colin". At first I had no idea what she was saying because she made it sound like "colon". I was so very disappointed!!!! Who does not know how to pronounce Colin? If I had a magic wand and could have zapped another narrator to read I would have done that.

Good story terrible male narration

I hate giving negative reviews but the narrator cannot do male voices. The voice of Caine sounded like a prepubescent girl. The story was great but I couldn’t get past her narration. Sorry

The Last In The Crown's Spies

I have long enjoyed all of Julie Garwood's books but this series was the first I read. My one complaint is that the 'reader' continues to pronounce the hero's name 'Colin' as 'Kurlin'. It drove me crazy!!

Still, I really enjoyed being able to listen to much-read favorite.

Awful narrator

This was a good story that was totally destroyed by the narrator. I have no idea what accent she was trying to give the lead female, but it was just awful. The lead male characters voice was clipped and monotone. Not a book to listen to, it the book and read it

wish it was better

I have read this book several times. The person they chose to read it suck! She pronounced the names wrong, changed her accent on all the charters through out the book. Was very disappointed.

love this series

I love Julie Garwood's historical romance books. she give you a heroine that's a lady but she can kick some butt too. The only thing I can find wrong is that the person reading the story cannot pronounce character names very well and when she does the nasal impression it's like nails on a chalkboard.

I Might Be. Picky

I had read the book before, and liked the series very much. I should have stayed with the written version.
I could never get use to the narrator mispronouncing
the heroes name - and one other character - it drove me batty! A major Distraction! It ruined the experience for me.
