COMPELLING, INTENSE, HOT... & JUST WOW

Well if the cover doesn't pull you in then the fantastic story will because, as always, Kym Grosso has delivered yet another awesome book and this one, as the title would suggest, is one hot listen..... but it's so so much more too. Billionaire Garrett is loveable, sexy, charismatic and all Alpha - he's CEO of a company that has Top Secret files but it primarily caters for people who want the 'extreme' adrenaline high lifestyle whether it's skydiving, mountain climbing, surfing or sex. And Garrett works hard but plays harder and he loves his life and the 'highs' it brings..... that is until tragedy strikes leaving him devastated.

So he is reluctantly forced to hire a new I.T. Specialist - the gorgeous intelligent Selby and she is the complete opposite of Garrett due to a childhood drama which causes her to have many anxieties, phobias and panic attacks. However, the saying 'opposites attract' proves to be so true in this case because as soon as she goes to work for Garrett the sexual attraction and chemistry is way way off the charts and he can't help but bring Selby into his world and skilfully teaches her to let go of her fears and sexual inhibitions and brings her darkest fantasies into orgasmic realities.

But there's someone trying to get to his Top Secret files which leads to murders, mystery, suspense, danger and plenty of drama and poor Selby has an important secret that she finds impossible to share.... until her world suddenly comes crashing down on her. And, as the body count rises, so too does suspicions, mistrust, tension, anxieties and tempers intensify because Garrett just doesn't know who to trust anymore and unfortunately this becomes toxic and heartbreaking to their new found happiness.

This is a gripping story with a very hot and wonderful romance surrounded and entwined around suspense and industrial espionage. There's quite a bit of personal growth as Garrett and Selby's characters slowly meld together because Garrett the lion may have started out as the predator in this story but Selby the lamb ends up taming her very contented lion. And, as we're introduced to the inner sanctum of Club Altura, there's a variety of interesting characters that drift in and out of the storyline.

Worth a credit? A great dual POV story and it's no wonder Ryan West seems to be picked to narrate all of Kym's books because his Hero's voice is perfect, there's clear differences between each of the character's voices and Ryan manages to do convincing and plausible female voices too which changes a good listen into a great listen. So, bottom line, this is a great start to a new series, definitely worth a credit and the Epilogue is a brief teaser for her next riveting well written book.

Predictable AND a cliffhanger

I liked the story. Sex scenes are HOT! Mostly predictable, but it is a cliffhanger in the end, which I didn't realize. Very frustrating that it is getting harder and harder to find a book that is a complete book.

Not Immortals from New Orleans, but not bad

I felt like the introduction of the main characters was a little weak but the there was an unique storyline and, in Kym Grosso fashion, hot sex. I wish there was a little more focus on "The Gatherings" at Club Altura. Maybe there will be in later books. It's definitely worth a credit. Ryan West, the narrator was as good as always.

Ugh

Slow, boring, repetitive. Could eaisly cut out half and still have the same book (unfortunately.) Narration: Ridiculously melodramatic. Don't waste your money or a credit.

Over the top and cheesy....

Any additional comments?

Not terrible but quite cheesy and unrealistic (despite the unrealistic premise to start with). Maybe if someone is attempting to kill you you shouldn't purposely keep yourself as distracted as possible from what is going on around you? I thought the characters were supposed to be smart?

No.no no no and no.

What disappointed you about Carnal Risk?

.The story itself was such a let down. I expected more of the extream sports and how each character related to these sports..It was non discriptive. It just isn't enough just to say it, I want to ,as a reader, feel it. Be transported into the story and get an idea of what its like. I all ready know that they flirt on the edge of danger. Jumping out of an airplane pretty much implies that. I wanted more from the Author.A flutter in the belly? The fire is missing. They infered about meets and even had a lesson for the herrorine about how to surf.. I knew she was going to hit her head and be resucued. No surprise. The murder mystery. Not so much. The sex sceens were just flat. They read more like a manual.

What was most disappointing about Kym Grosso’s story?

That this book had such potential and she dropped the ball. I hope she piicks the ball up and slam dunks it on the next one. I wish her much luck.

What didn’t you like about Ryan West’s performance?

I was set to like his voice. Its a good voice, but then I found myself counting his cadence and tempo like a walz playing a one two three one two three rhythem in my head on each sentence ughhh. Happily I upped the speed on my player and was able to mix it up. He sounded better.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Carnal Risk?

This is where the no no no comes in. This story needed additions not subtractions.More discriptions, more information on extream sports, more emotions more excitement. We are talking about Extream sports here. Someone was murdered. Some humor. Yes tragic strikes and there can be humor somewhere in the book. I know there is a following for Kim Grosso. I have read other books by her that I liked.

Any additional comments?

vanila. The book lacked fire. It lacked depth. I would not waste a credit nor go on with the series myself.

Club Altura

Well this book was a real ride! Thrill seekers, murder, mystery... espionage...-and romance. Plus Ryan West narrating! Makes for a truly hot sexy listen.

I will definitely go on to the next book. Although there were no truly mind blowing revelations I still didn’t see the end coming. And the epilogue is the device for book two.

Well that was painful

This story really wasn’t that great. It was very predictable and it just wasn’t my favorite. I don’t think the characters really had time to develop. The sex scene were very graphic and I wish the story had spent as much time getting to know the characters.

Attention Holder

I enjoyed this book and it’s content a lot. I do hope the author continues the series... I am waiting for the second one! I have mixed feelings about the narrator though. There are aspects of his narrating I enjoy like his strong masculine voice, but I find that he has a set rhythm and tone that he does not deviate from. Everything sounds urgent, and yet is spoken in a set of monotone syllables and sentences. I always know when he will pause and then go on. I felt the same way in his narration of Kym Grasso’s other series. Other than that, I enjoyed it and hope for the next in series to be released!

Not happy frustrated hipped and unimpressed. Sounded worth listening too if I could have downloaded it at all.
