Publisher's summary

Part of a small demon lair in Las Vegas, tattooist Harper Wallis lives a pretty simple life. That changes overnight when she discovers that her psychic mate, or "anchor", is a guy who's rumored to be the most powerful demon in existence. Compelling, full of secrets, and armed with raw sexuality, Knox Thorne is determined to claim her as his anchor, creating a psychic bond that will prevent their inner demons from ever turning rogue.

The billionaire also wants Harper in his bed. She's not so sure she wants either of those things. No one seems to know what breed of demon Knox is, only that he's more dangerous than anything she's ever before encountered. But he refuses to walk away. And when an unknown danger starts closing in on Harper, it seems that Knox is the only one who can keep her safe.

As Prime of his Las Vegas lair and a successful businessman, Knox Thorne is used to getting what he wants, and he wants Harper. He'll have her, and he'll keep her safe from the threat that looms over her. Because Knox protects what's his. He won't allow anyone to take her from him. Even if it will mean letting the demon inside him rise and wreak the havoc it was created to make. Contains mature themes.

The story is great but it took me over two hours to get used to the narrator

I really enjoyed the story, but I have to say this is probably one of the worst narrators I’ve ever heard. She went between being a 10-year-old little girl to a smokers grandma voice. I really want to hear the next story but I’m afraid it’s the same narrator. I listen to the majority of Suzanne writes other books and none of the narrations have been like this.

Could be better...

The concept was wonderful and it was a nice story but personally I think the amount and intensity (language, etc) of the sex scenes were too much. I liked the voice actors dedication to the characters and the scenes but some of the impressions she left for the characters were too whiny for the personality they were probably intended for. I might just read these rather than listen...

good story HATE NARRATOR

I think I will by the books going forward vs the audible ones. I cannot stand the voices the narrator uses, it almost ruined the book for me.

Tons of sex, Low on Plot

I have no problem with some good sex scenes if they contribute to the overall plot. You know that you're reading nothing but "mommy porn" when you are told in the first chapter that two individuals are each other's destiny and they will do "it" often and hard. The plot was thin, and the dialogue repetitive.

I will not be continuing on with this series.

I enjoyed listening to this book. I can't wait for the other two books to be released on audible!

Wow!

This was a highly entertaining book. I like the imagination that went into this story and the mystery of what Knox is throughout almost the whole book. I'm a sucker for the emotionally challenged Heros falling for the unlikely heroines. Knox and Harper are one of my top favorite couples.

There is usually an annoying trait from one or the other but I loved both of them. Their characters were mature and I loved how they reacted to every situation they were in. I have no complaints and truly enjoyed this story. I hope the author continues the series to give some of the side characters their own books...hint, hint, Levi.

I did re-read through the audiobook and while the narrator was a good narrator, I did feel that she portrayed Harper in a way that completely changed the character for me. Instead of the calm, steady and strong heroine that I got out of Harper when reading the book, the narrator gave her a whiny and bratty voice. It actually made her sound like a "mean girl". It's such a disservice to this wonderful character and I hope that anyone listening to this story for the first time does not get turned off the series because of it. It really goes to show that you can change a lot in just the tone of your voice.

Side note... I have started the second audiobook and while she has her moments, the narrator did a better job of Harper in the second book. Less of a whiny intonation and more of a normal voice. I still hope that the first book gets fixed at some point.

If you can get past her voice then its worth it

Narrator is hard to listen too, but if you can get past it the story is better then expected. I look forward to see how Harper grows throughout the series and pray the Narrator gets a better grasp.

Story was good, Narrator is awful.

I had to stop half way through because the voice she makes for different characters is so bad. One of the first audio books I’ve had stop listening to.

bad narrator

I love all of Mrs. Wrights books and was excited to come across this series as well that being said they should've picked a different narrator Cat makes all the girls sound pathetic and 12 years old when they talk and let's not get started on her attempt at the Male voices lol I had a hard time differentiating from the Male and female characters

I will struggle to keep listening and that's sad because I wasted 3 credits only for this Narrator to ruin this series for me.
