Publisher's summary

Bree Simpson has her dream job at the family company. However, recent events have turned that dream into a nightmare. Bree has learned to tolerate a lot as one of the few women in an executive position in the construction industry. But when the normal bullying tactics turn aggressive and threaten her project in Atlanta, Bree decides to go on the offensive.

Convinced an architect is out to destroy her project, Bree decides it's time to give Logan Ward a piece of her mind. Despite being thousands of miles away in London, successful architect Logan Ward finds himself on the receiving end of "B. Simpson's" angry messages from across the pond. Deciding to handle B. Simpson's demands himself, Logan heads to Atlanta only to discover things are not what they seem, starting with the sexy woman he rescues after an accident on the job site.

Only time will tell if a case of mistaken identity can turn hate into love - but time may not be a luxury they can afford. Can Logan and Bree discover their real selves and true love in time, or will everything be torn down around them?

Loved It

The more I listened to this book/series, the more I fell in love with the entire family. We all hope to make it big some day and this family stuck together as they did it. The suspense was great and the character development is amazing! Can't wait to listen to Book 3.

amazing book

Would you consider the audio edition of Built for Power to be better than the print version?

loved them both equally

What other book might you compare Built for Power to and why?

that is a hard question but I would say Chosen For Power as it is the first in the series and you get to meet the characters and in Built For Power the old characters are part of that story also

Have you listened to any of Amy McFadden’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

wonderful I love how she makes me fell like part of the book

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes and I did listen to it in one day with little breaks to pick kids up and stuff

Power to the builder

Bree Simpson story I did like better than the first book. Again not Amy's best. I think I would have preferred Karen White as the narrator. But Bree's determination makes for a good listen. I will say Kathleen still seems to be rushing through these stories. But for a fun simple romance and because I really do like Kathleen Brooks I enjoyed this book. It is not for everyone. It's a simple romance

Even better than the first..

Any additional comments?

I absolutely love Shirley, and the signs that swing from her walker! That old woman has me laughing every time she shows up in the book. Actually, I love every member of the family. Well, except for maybe Aunt Flory. She’s kind of a biotch.

I like that this book had not only a great love story but some mystery and suspense. Love Mallory and her kick-ass attitude. Loved seeing Elle and Drake and Reid, the protective brother and Allegra and Margaret, the loving mother and Mary, who became a whole new person in book #1.

I hated Trevor and wasn’t sad when he got his. And I really hated Jeff and absolutely, positively, without a doubt, loved what happened to him.

I’m going to start Allegra’s story now but after reading the epilogue of this book it sounds like it might be a book of her keeping secrets and a lot of angst, and I hate that. I hate any book where the heroine keeps secrets because she trying to “protect” a giant of a man, Finn was a football player, for petes sake.

There wasn’t much sexual tension, which I miss, in this story but there’s some nicely written sex scenes.

As to the narrator: I love Amy McFadden's narration. It's true that her men all sound like each other but they sound like men, which is rather sexy, and that's what counts. And she makes the book more exciting with her emotions.

Love Bree and Logan

This is the 2nd book in the series and Kathleen said not disappoint. Bree is a tough as nails SVP at Simpson Global and she can run with the men day In and day out as the leader in construction, but when she falls for Logan she finds that she can be feminine and soft when she's with the right man. Logan allows Bree to be herself, both fierce and soft. Logan is in need of a change. Change in life and location and he finds it with Bree and her family. Once they get past the death threats and attempts on Bree's life, maybe they can start their own.

Love the book, narrator, the Simpson family and friends. Of course, you can never have too much Shirley.

Recommended

Bree is a strong willed woman who knows what she wants anf isn't afraid to go after it. Althouse she can tend to rush into some situations while reacting, thankfully Logan was there to keep her fairly safe and get her out.

I liked Logan but did find him a bit weak with regard to making decisions and standing up for himself.

Sexy and Powerful

If you could sum up Built for Power in three words, what would they be?

Intriguing fun and intense

Who was your favorite character and why?

Bree because iove strong powerful heroines and she's fierce and kicks butt in a field dominated by men

What does Amy McFadden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love Amy and have listened to a lot of her narration. She's got a voice that holds your interest and brings all the different characters to life beautifully. She does an exception job on this book and I hope she continues to narrate this series.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Lol I did listen in one sitting

Any additional comments?

Another fabulous story in the Women of Power series. I love the character development and that these fictional woman are great role models to woman in general. Bree can take care of business and handle her own as well or better than any man. She's got plans for a big project but decides to keep changing them.

Enter Logan the architect from London who is determined to find out why his well though out plan keeps needing changes and in an unexpected turn meets Bree and saves her.

If you love mystery and romantic suspense with a healthy does of humors you will love this book as much as I did! Can't wait to see what's next when the next book is released. This author keeps the story lines fresh and fun and these books are definitely a must read for me!

Sweet, sassy, and sexy this series will keep you laughing, inspire you and take you on an all around awesome journey with characters who capture your heart

Another super book

Kathleen Brooks does it again!! I barely paused this book. I love her character development and the messes Bree get into and out of, some on her own but mostly with the help of family and Logan (the perfect man, that can truly replace no man!!). I think this book is one of her best.
