Publisher's Summary

When Alexandra's older brother dies the night of his graduation, it changes everything for her. No longer is she the party girl. No longer does she care about being popular, and no longer is her family the happy unit she always thought existed. The only person who can help her heal is the same person who loved her brother as much as she did, his best friend. She only hopes to keep her heart from breaking when Jesse moves on, and she knows he will.

After Ethan dies, Jesse focuses on basketball, partying, and girls. He uses it all to turn his emotions off, but the irony is that Alex is the only person who can do that for him. She helps him forget, but she is the one person he shouldn't be with because the secrets he knows could shatter everything. They could shatter her.

Contains mature themes.

Conflicted on this one

Idk. Part of me wants to give this book one star because it was messed up, depressing and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Yet, another part of me wants to give it ten stars because it was beautifully messed up, screwed all to hell, raw and I could not put it down. So, I'm just giving the warning that this is no light hearted romance. It actually could only loosely be called a romance, more a grief driven masochistic obsession.

Loved the story, narrator was ok

I'm a big Tijan fan - loved this story, both books in the series. I'm a big audio book fan - this narrator was ok. I have mixed feelings about this narrator. Some of the time, she seemed bland and mousey; other times she did a pretty good job getting the flavor of the scene and characters. I am glad I finished listening to it, as my opinion of the narration improved thru the book, but I am still overall mixed on what i think about her.

Emotional & Brilliant

The title of the book is how I felt reading/ listening to this, but in a way only Tijan can do! If you are a fan then this is a must read! If you haven't already read &/or listened to something by this incredible author, what are you waiting for?! I have yet to be disappointed and I'm using tons of exclamations on purpose! Only warning that I have is to be prepared to be sucked into tons of new stories, characters, no sleep, etc because you are going to want to read everything!

I Liked the story but...

Where does Broken and Screwed rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I liked the story, but won't be listening to the second in the series because the narrator was the most annoying i've ever heard.

A heartbreaking but yet beautiful book. A must read. Tijan's books are brilliant, and everybody should read not just this one, but all her books!

sigh

it's been awhile since I read the book so I forgot how hard it was. The feels are so much more. The affect that she has got on my nerves in the beginning but it is actually really appropriate for her throughout.

LOVE this Series

Would you consider the audio edition of Broken and Screwed to be better than the print version?

I would have to say I enjoyed both, but the audio version really put more character into the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Broken and Screwed?

I don't know where to start, but I would have to say when she burned the letter from her parents, that was EPIC!

What about Jillian Macie’s performance did you like?

I just love how she brings the characters to life and really pulls you into the book quickly!

Any additional comments?

Again, I can't get enough of Tijan's work and always love to purchase the audio version as soon as they come out.

I couldn't finish

Maybe I am a terrible person for saying this but I can't read a book where the main female character can't put her legs together enough to say "no", when obviously some jerk off needs to go to how to treat a woman university

Okay...

I loved the book and the series but didn't really care for the person doing the narrative.

Heartbreaking

Oh my word, this book broke my heart, I found myself to be a complete and utter emotional wreck at various points throughout the book. The story follows Alex and Jesse as they try to live with the loss of Jesse's best friend and Alex's brother Ethan. Jesse and Alex hook up at various momentous dates in the year, finding solace in each other so that they may feel again. The fact that Alex is and always has been in love with Jesse (who does not do relationships) makes this all the more harder on Alex. That and the fact that her parents have pretty much forgotten she exists. Poor poor Alex, I felt so much for her. I loved Jesse, I hated Jesse, I loved Jesse. Oh , and don't keep me started on Alex's parents, completely abandoning her, no excuse! Beautifully written, as I've come to expect from Tijan. Desperately need to start on book 2 now, need to see how it pans out with Jesse and Alex in college together. I need a hea for Alex so much.
