Publisher's summary

Five years ago, Tuesday Eastwood's life collapsed and left her devastated. After an empty, nomadic existence, she's finally pieced her life back together in the small Oregon town of Hood River. Now Tuesday has everything sorted out. Just so long as men are kept for sex, and only sex....

Then she met him. Musician and rancher Ezra Hurley isn't the man of Tuesday's dreams. He's a verboten fantasy - a man tortured by past addictions whose dark charisma and long, lean body promise delicious carnality. But this craving goes far beyond chemistry. It's primal. It's insatiable. And it won't be satisfied until they're both consumed, body and soul....

Broken Open In A Good Way

I love the Hurley Brother's and I can't wait to read about Vaughan. Ezra Hurley has a very dark past he had a very public addiction to heroin having pasted out on stage during a concert, which resulted in him and his brother Paddy the lead singer of their band getting into a fight on stage. Ezra has spent the last five years making amends to those that he has hurt, he still writes, produces and plays on the albums with his brothers and he does a couple of live shows with them. Ezra is also a rancher like his father. Ezra doesn't think that he deserves to be happy. Tuesday lost her husband to cancer five years ago and she doesn't think that she deserves to be happy also, because Eric her husband is dead and she is not. This book was full of hot sex scenes and I loved it. I also liked the supporting cast in this book Sharon Hurley is a force to be reckoned with I have never heard of a mother offering to shot dope with her son to prove a point and (I'm a drug counselor). I also liked Diana Tuesdays mother because she told her daughter the truth it was ok to love someone else. This was a interracial love story and I liked how Ms. Dane wrote the prejudice that Tuesday went through at the feed store and how Ezra's father Michael handled it and how Ezra felt about it. From the first book of this series I felt that it was something very special about these two and I was so glad that they got their happy ending from dealing with each of their fears to her ex in laws. This book was very well written (read) as I listened to it on audio. If you are a fan of hot rockers with the erotic twist you will like this series. I can not wait to read about Kelly and Vaughan Hurley.

Ezra and Tuesday

Rockstar farmer and artist entrepreneur are survivors that agree to live in present. Slow moving at first but the story of love, friendship and family draws you into their story. Loved it!

enjoyed extremely more after chapter 13. thanks

Story picked up after chapter 13. mentioning racial difference should have been mentioned earlier. But conversations between the characters were enlightening. I wish the ending had an epilogue so could see how far they last. That the only reason I didn't give 5 stars.

Enjoyed the story very much.

Where does Broken Open rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 5

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the way the author dealt with the interracial relationship. She acknowledged that there are issues and dealt with them. The Hurley family did seem to good to be true but as an African American woman married to a Caucasian, I have met people as good as the Hurley's and some just like the man in the feed store. Overall, it's a very good story - pretty hot!

What about Kate Turnbull’s performance did you like?

Easy to listen too. Liked her voice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Hot Sex and a lot of it!

Any additional comments?

Thank you for making this book available. I would not have known about this author or book had it not been for the book cover. The cover is what caught my attention.

Great book

Lauren has created a superb power couple in Ezra and Tuesday. I don't usually dig stories around racially diverse couples because of the often heavy hand in making the point about our society's unfortunate snail's pace at overcoming it to the detriment of the story line.

Happily, this book made the point without sacrificing the love story and the family issues surrounding the central couple.

The sex scenes "told" more than "showed" this time, which was a bit disappointing. And can we please let these couples clear the condom use earlier in the action. What a drag and a distraction. Overall, though, this was a very good "listen", even if narrator Kate created some pretty wimpy sounding male voices.

Wow nice contemporary love story

Haven't listened to contemporary Romance is a while. Usually no substance, morals or too young for me. Unless it is someone like Robyn Carr or Debbie Macomber. This was just plain good nice storyline. One of the first stories with two people whom are just trying to over come those "hit you hard" life hurdles. It was also interracial which was nice to read and have it not be a main conflict but just a hint understanding. This was just the right amount of drama without being overly done. Also nice to have a "grown-up" thinking Heroine. I don't like whinny characters... This was just the right touch.

More Hurley Brothers - Thank YOU Lauren Dane

Where does Broken Open rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

In the middle... that isn't bad, I have almost 1000 books in my Audible library and 300 or so on MP3-CD

What did you like best about this story?

How about 'What I liked least?' The heroine's name, Tuesday. Seriously, have authors run out of names? Tuesday *cringe*, Tuesday *cringe*, Tuesday *cringe*, Tuesday *cringe*

Which scene was your favorite?

I really liked the ending scene. It there was closure for Ezra and Tuesday (*cringe*) but there was plenty of story left to tell...

Any additional comments?

Bwwm she did it right...

The fact that this author is Caucasian and wrote and interracial story into her series is beautiful and that she did such a great job! Well I for one am touched.
She made the story about a man and a woman first.
Their race was secondary, I know in this time and age, with the current government we have some people will not understand why she didn’t shove their race down our throats and made everyone of their problems about race, but I for one being in an interracial marriage for over twelve years knows that when it comes to love and relationship the color of the skin comes into play, yes but mostly because of how sexy you find your partner. We deal with the other ignorance as it comes but make sure it’s no given too much of our time, because life is short and hate will always be around no matter who we love or what we do. So f#*k it! No energy that! Too busy loving and being successful in all aspects of our lives. Anyway good job ma’am!(Author)

Intense Love

I've loved this couple and what they brought to this story. Two gorgeous people with tragic pasts and how they were made to go through life together. No nonsense love, so intense.
