No last names. No life stories. Those were the rules.

Once upon a time a cocky, copper-haired tourist sauntered into Zara's bar. And even though she knew better, Zara indulged in a cure for the small-town blues. It was supposed to be an uncomplicated fling - a few sizzling weeks before he went back to his life, and she moved on. Until an accidental pregnancy changed her life.

Two years later, she's made peace with the notion that Dave No-Last-Name will never be found - until one summer day when he walks into her coffee shop, leveling her with the same hot smile that always renders her defenseless.

Dave Beringer has never forgotten the intense month he spent with prickly Zara. Their nights together were the first true intimacy he'd ever experienced. But the discovery of his child is the shock of a lifetime, and his ugly past puts relationships and family out of reach.

Or does it? Vermont's countryside has a way of nurturing even tortured souls. The fields and the orchards - and hard-won love - are bountiful.

A nice addition to the series, but this title lacks some of the character development of earlier books. Dave is a nice tie-in to the Brooklyn Bruisers series, but I wish we learned more about him.

Filling in Zara's story

Sarina Bowen is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and the True North series is awesome. This is the story of the hockey player and the prickly bartender. These stories are so down to earth and quirky at the same time. Every character in this series has a unique (some downright quirky) personality. I have thoroughly enjoyed each of the True North books! They are all consuming.

Loved it!

Bountiful is one my favorite books in the True North series, although it can be read as a standalone book, I highly suggest reading the previous three books in the series. Zara is a complicated character, with some sharp edges, but her edges soften when it comes to her daughter. Zara and Dave's relationship is full of fire and sparks, and even the time apart doesn't stifle that intense attraction. This was such a fun romance, and I loved the drama and romance.

A True Favorite

Best of all the True North Series. I think it is because of the baby.

Best of the True North series

I love a good crossover book and this one was a True North meets Brooklyn Bruisers one. Dave is on holiday in Vermont and meets Zara who works at her uncle’s bar. They end up having a no strings hot as heck relationship for the summer, but he leaves behind something that no one was ready for. Their evenings are full of sizzle. Fast forward 2 years later and he’s back for another break and ends up running into her in her new business. Both are gobsmacked and Zara runs off shell shocked.

Then Dave has to come to terms with being a daddy quick smart and works super hard to convince Zara that he wants more than just a hookup. Their relationship is a complex one with a history of hurt, but they get past it, and eventually he shows her with his actions that she and their baby Nicole are his priorities.

I don’t normally love the surprise baby trope, but this one was a little different as he had no idea and after a little speed bump when he discovers the news, he takes it in stride and even embraces it.

We see other characters from the other books pop in and out and even get some of the Bruisers making an appearance too.

Seraphine and Teddy were seamless as Zara and Dave. Seraphine definitely gave off Zara’s prickly vibes, and Teddy showed us how Dave turns from the happy-go-lucky single guy to the responsible father and partner.

I think this is my favourite one so far.

Where the Bruisers meet True North.
