Publisher's summary

In a universe where corruption and deception rule all aspects of life, sparks of rebellion threaten to ignite.

As the Resistance leader, Zarya Starska's only goal is to topple the government that destroyed her entire family and left her penniless. Her biggest asset is a mysterious man known only as Kere.

But Kere has a dark secret. Born into a world that is as privileged as it is corrupt, his real name is Darling Cruel - and he is heir to the government Zarya wants to overthrow. No one has ever seen the real man behind the legend - no one except Zarya. But when she allows a weapon he designed to be used against his beloved sister, all bets are off.

Betrayed by the Resistance, Darling's goal is not only to reign, but to kill every Resistance member he can find. Zarya must stop Darling's reign of terror, but can she reach past his insanity to restore the hero who once fought by her side?

Born of Silence

This story is one of my favorites, why because the two main people go through so much only to finally come together married and formed into a very strong unit.
it's a book that I do listen to often and then I also bought the actual paper book as well to read also.

out of this world!

this series is my favorite of Sherrilyns, tho the Dark Hunter Series is definitely stepping on its heels, fight to trip it like a bratty lil brother! Sherrilyn' s ability to show you the best and worst sides of life; show us that our views can be so misconceived, has always spoken to me.. She transports you into other worlds, her anti hero/heroines make you desire to be part of their brotherhood/sisterhood..

Holter Graham is, as well one of my favorite Narrators even when speaking as a women he delivers a believable performance, one that transcends you through each character with ease ..

So if you are looking for great science fiction with your romance then don't hesitate to read this series from the beginning! I'm working my way through for my 6th time since the first release of Nyks book Born of FIRE

A beautifully told story!

Sherrilyn Kenyon never ceases to amaze me! She writes wonderful stories and shows the dangers of the government. Her books still hold my heart above all others!
Holter Graham is by far my favorite narrator of all time! His characterization is so honest! I feel each emotion and background story just from how he reads. He puts so into this book and many others by Sherrilyn Kenyon!

What A Rollercoaster!!

Sherrilyn, GIRRRRL!!! I should have known when I listened to the uncharacteristically long author preface, that this one would be epic. The principals of this novel WENT THROUGH IT!! Which made it at times excruciating to listen to in terms of the series of events. That said, hands down, this is the Best, Most Perfect, Most Incredible audiobook I have EVER listened to, real talk. Holter’s performance was (chef’s kiss) outstanding. I particularly loved the message that in war, there are no winners, as even the oppressed are capable of atrocities. Don’t hesitate, dive in y’all!!

Poor Darling

If you're familiar with the Ichidian universe then you know that our heroes are tortured. This is especially true for Darling Cruel. He's tortured in his past as well as his present and it just breaks my heart.

If you're famliar with Kenyon, then you can figure out how it ends for our hero. Still, getting there was heart wrenching.

Great listen but...kinda predictable.

Beauty and the Beast....in space...

It was still a great listen, and I really enjoyed watching Darling kick some ass.

Can wait for the Next

Would you listen to Born of Silence again? Why?

I thought that the first book Born of Night was the best in the series. She did not let me down with this book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Born of Silence?

When Darling got his finger cut off.

Which scene was your favorite?

I can't say because it would have piss me off if some would have told me about my favorite scene before I experienced it. But was at the end of the final battle. Wow

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I never been on such a roller coaster. She could have writen more than one book with this story. I thought I hit the climax of the story and another one hit.

What a Darling!

This book was heart breaking and exciting and more! I can’t say enough good about this one. Saw some tragic similarities with a certain 11,000 yr old *Dark Hunter* in this story (wink). I also love Maris and cant wait for the book following this one!
