Publisher's summary

For Reyna Carpenter, giving up her body isn't a choice. It's survival. In a civilization laid to waste by poverty and desperation, Reyna accepts a high-paying position with the wealthy and hungry vampire elite. Her new job is as the live-in blood escort for the intimidating, demanding, and devilishly handsome Beckham Anderson. He's everything she expected from a vampire, except for one thing - he won't feed off her.

Reyna soon discovers that behind Beckham's brooding, wicked façade lies a unique and complex man. And that in a dark and divided world, she is more valuable than she ever would have believed.

For with each passing night, Reyna can't shake the sensation that it's Beckham who's afraid of her.

So spot on with the blood bank stuff

I just know this will be one of my most favorite books this year. And the author was so accurate in her bloodbank details about blood types, even the rh null type. I wonder if she is a lab tech. The main characters were so hot. Reyna was very brave to sign up for being a blood courtesan for a vampire. She hates needles but went through testing for her brothers. They are all very poor and work morning to night and are still starving and live in a dirty unsafe warehouse district. The vampire she is assigned to is very scary but of course hot. He is also one of the very high up officials at the organization that she is now working for. This scares her even more, thinking he will really be an animal. But he never drinks from her. And did I mention, she has to live with him? He even sleeps in another room and doesn’t try for sex. She didn’t know exactly what to expect going in but she knew it paid a lot. After testing, she was told she would get double her salary. He also gave her a credit card with no limit on it. Every day she is drawn closer to him. But he is the biggest jerk, hardly talking except to yell at her or scare her somehow. She can’t understand why he doesn’t want her blood though. He almost acts like it disgusts him. Little does she know, it is the opposite because her blood type is such a rare type.

Through it all she has one friend she made in the valet who works at the building she lives in. He is also human. He gives her the ins and outs of the city. There are fighting factions like rebels against the company and vampires. And there are vampires who treat their blood courtesan horrible and beat them. There are even rogue vampires who just go around killing humans without even caring what type. Not drinking the correct type will make the vampire go mad. I’m dying to say more but I’ve probably said too much already. It does end on a cliffhanger but it is such a great book that it is worth it.

If you like audiobooks, the narrator is so amazing! I think she’s my new favorite! I swear there was a guy doing the male voices. Idk how she can sound so feminine and so male.

🌻The Heroine is so disappointing 🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I was really looking forward to this trilogy. There are really, very few, well written vampire series; BDB, Carpathian series, Immortal guardians, Deep in your Veins, Chicagoland vampires, and Midnight Breed, to name a few of my favorites. The plot, of this book was good, the narration was passable but the Heroine was so unbelievably stupid, had no self respect and couldn’t figure out when to keep her mouth shut. Ughhh! I’m going to move on to book two, in hopes this Heroine grows up quickly. In addition, I really want to know how this H and h’s story can possibly work out!

AUTHORS PLEASE, can you PLEASE write more about strong Heroines? The dumb blond thing
Is getting old!

Good start to a new series

The story was interesting from the first chapter, started out well and then it just fizzled out. Mainly because the main heroin was a bit over-the-top with her naïveté. Or her stupidity. The story presents itself from her point of view she does most of the talking in the story. I would have like to hear more from the mail main male character, instead they portray him to be Brody and the silent type with a few words. They also seem to drag out the story unnecessarily. The narrator was OK, I did enjoy the book however I was not expecting it to end in a cliffhanger. 😔 Now I have to get the other books to see how the story will end.

The concept has potential, but the FMC immaturity results in unfulfilled expectations..

I like the concept behind this story, but it didn't live up to my expectations. The excessive teenage drama and angst made it hard for me to become fully invested in the plot. Additionally, I found it difficult to sympathize with the main character's desperate and clingy behavior, which led her to justify certain actions and dynamics within the relationship. Her constant self-deprecating adoration, combined with her childish jealousy, is unattractive and increasingly irritating.
I found the storyline of the romance to be contrived and unsatisfying. It did not feel like a sexy dynamic where the female lead's strength of character evens out the power imbalance, but rather an uncomfortable and almost pedophilic display of power dynamics.

Interesting story but the female character....

This was my first KA Linde novel. Blood Type was an intriguing paranormal novel and I was hooked from page one. This story had it all, vampires and humans, intrigue, politics, resistance, deceit, romance and so much more. The female character however spoiled this book for me, she was immature and extremely frustrating.
The narrator did an excellent job. She was able to voice the different characters and really brought every one to life.
The novel ended in a Cliffhanger and in spite of the female character, i did enjoy the story.

Is she six, is she twelve, or perhaps a sassy sixteen year old

I liked the story, I liked the Hero, Beckham, but I have to ask the author just how old is Rena???, because the character has all the control and maturity of a twelve year old. One minute she goes on and on about treating everyone equally, then she hits a bump in the “relationship road” with Beckham and she blows up, becomes accusatory and runs.
When she runs she drops into the lap of one devious person after another, never learns from her mistakes and for the love of all things vampire, cannot keep her mouth shut to save her. Stupidity is her middle name. Who in their right mind attends a “vampire sex party” knowing creepy Raol(sp) is attending. Then she takes off on another one of her immature snits - alone, wandering around not knowing where she is going and almost gets raped by the creepy French vampire.
Truthfully after 2-3 times of Rena nonsense I began to wonder if the author injected immature angst for the sake of having angst. That got so old that I developed a deep dislike of Rena and I had to ask the question - why is a level headed man like Beckham attracted to such a mouthy child? NOTE: Since vampires live forever that question can be debated among the immortals for ages and ages. 🤔
I’m on the fence about reading books 2 and 3. I’ll read some of the reviews and if Rena’s character continues down the same path I’ll pass and find another author.
