Publisher's Summary

In this sexy paranormal romance novel set in the world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, number-one New York Times best-selling author J. R. Ward tells the story of two couples - both fighting to find love in the midst of the war with the Lessening Society.

A vampire aristocrat, Peyton is well aware of his duty to his bloodline: mate with an appropriate female of his class and carry on his family's traditions. And he thought he'd found his perfect match - until she fell in love with someone else. Yet when his split-second decision in a battle with the enemy endangers the life of another trainee, Peyton has to face the idea that his future, and his heart, actually lie with another.

Novo, as a female in the Black Dagger Brotherhood's training program, feels like she has to prove herself to everybody - and she has no interest in being distracted by falling in love. But when Peyton proves to be so much more than a rich playboy, she is forced to confront the tragedy that has broken her soul and closed her off from love.

As the two grapple with Novo's past and Peyton's present, another couple must contend with an erotic connection that is unparalleled - and potentially scandalous. Saxton, who has had his heart broken, discovers in himself a deep-seated attraction to Ruhn, a new member of the household. But will the other male explore the connection? Or will he close his mind and his heart to what could be true love...and cost Saxton everything?

As a lover of almost everything BDB of course I love this spin off series! It really doesn't feel like a spin off, it feels like a BDB book with new characters because the BDB crew are in all these books. The one thing I love the most about this series is the timeline, it takes place in the same time line as BDB so what happens in a Legacy book continues into the next BDB book and then the next Legacy book.

This book has two stories, Peyton & Novo's hate to love story and then Saxton & Ruhn's HEA. I will say this book had a lot of injuries which was crazy because it had a lot less fighting & BDB world story going on than most of this series. This one felt a lot more like a romance than usual and to be honest I kinda miss how normally the story jumps around between many plots, this one was really only the two love stories. Another strange thing about this book is the WARDen didn't really set up anything for the next Legacy book, either that or I didn't catch it. Usually her books have either a side story building up for the next book or some kinda of obvious situation that tells us who the next book will be about and I ended this one with no idea.
This book just left me waiting for The Thief!

Jim Frangione will always be BDB to me! I just wish he has stuck to his pronunciations from the first 10 books even if they weren't correct because that is how they are pronounced in my head now.

Authentic Warden

Our favorite author is BACK! I’ve missed her in the past couple of Brotherhood books, and this does not disappoint!! Purists will enjoy the humor, cadence, and speed of this story. No impossible personality flips here - enjoy Peyton & Novo’s sweet story, and the brutal truth of Ruhn’s horrible past.......get back on the JR Ward train with abandon!👍👍👌👏

She's done it again!!!

It's always interesting when you get the back story of each character. Learning about them is half the fun. But you still fuss, kick and scream. This book was no different. I ran the gambit of emotions. But I enjoyed every minute

Still very good

Would you listen to Blood Fury again? Why?

Definitely listen again. Ilisteed to it 3 times before I was able to give this review. The other two books were much better. I though Novo did not keep her character, but overall still very good story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Saxton

Which character – as performed by Jim Frangione – was your favorite?

Saxton and Ruhn

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Black Dagger Brotherhood X...new improved better feeling version

Any additional comments?

Again not as funny as the last on and not as serious as the first. But still good. This class of warriors are so much easier to read and listen too. John-Matthews crew was so dark and this group is just a breath of fresh air. Even if their problems and families have drama, but it makes for a great story

The end came before I was ready,

Wow, just like every book in the BDB, I consumed it in less than 24 hours. 1/2 of This story had less intensity then we are used to from other BDB tales then we are used to. Perhaps this is because there are two couples that are focused on. One of the couples features m/m sexual content, so if this offends you, skip this book. In addition, there is only one brief encounter with Lessors. Despite all that, I shed a few tears and LOL in one paticular spot, so it may not have been the greatest book in the series and it's spin off, it was worth a credit to me.

Waste of a credit

Jim Frangione did a stellar job with the storyline he was given. This book was not on par with the previous writing of JR Ward. Rhun was the only bright point in this book. Saxton who previously was a great character became a cardboard cutout of his previous self. Novo and Peyton never clicked, no sizzle or spark and a dull as dirt plot line wedding.

A Series in Want of a Villian

No one was more thrilled to see the Lessening Society go than me. I was skipping their POV sections, but now there is no villian. There was an interesting play with an overthrow of King o. the series as well. Now there is none.

This is a terrific X rated romance but there are only three fight scenes and one is between two romantic partners.

Worth the Audible credit but not steller.

The narrator doesn't attempt to distinguish between characters except male or female. That has probably always been the case, but this time I was confused who was who with each scene opening.
