Publisher's summary

Defeat the enemy. Win the boy. Live happily ever after. But life "ever after" isn't as easy as it used to be.

Harper's gone from being a member of a small demon lair to co-Prime of one of the most powerful lairs in the US, with a mate who, though hot as hell, is just a mite overprotective - I mean, you get kidnapped by dark practitioners just once....

Then one of Knox's demons goes rogue and in his madness decides Knox Thorne must die. Harper's worried. Knox isn't - at least until he discovers his mate's willingness to get between him and danger. Now Knox has a new priority: keep Harper safe...no matter what it takes.

But Harper begins to suspect there's more danger than one rogue demon. It seems the combined strength of Harper and Knox has upset the balance of power in the demon world, and there are those who are determined to right that wrong. Because when you move up the food chain, sometimes the other predators just want to take a bigger bite.

Contains mature themes.

Can I live in this world? Psychic fingers?!? YES PLEASE

I thoroughly enjoyed book 2. So much so when I saw that I rated Burn 3 STARS on Goodreads (it wasn't out on Audible) when I read it; I am now doing a reread.

Between the psychic fingers, the hellhound & hellcat I was literally screaming with laughter.

Harper's voice grated on my nerves! And I wasn't thrilled listening to Knox's demon, which is a huge disappointment considering how much I adore both. This was SO, SO CLOSE to a 5 STAR read for me!

Narration is beyond awful

Why why why? Why is the narrator making the choice to make the female voice so unbelievably annoying and whiny? Every once in a while, she makes it somewhat normal sounding then right back to whiny, weird squeaky. What a shame. Ruining a great story

Great story and addition to the series :D

4.5-5 stars

This was a great story and follow up to Burn. Knox and Harper are a super couple and I grew to love them even more in this story.

This story picks up a couple months after Burn ended. Harper and Knox are doing well and settling into their life together. Knox is a bit overprotective of Harper but tries to compromise so he doesn't smother her...although his attempts to compromise aren't always successful and Harper doesn't make things easy on him. There are some difficulties balancing Knox's protectiveness with Harper's discomfort at being smothered but they do pretty well at working through them without too many issues.

As the description noted, a demon from Knox's lair is going rogue and seems intent on killing Knox. Knox is alright with being the target because he feels he can protect himself but he's worried that the guy might go after Harper anyways. This is an issue but it gets worse when they realize that the rogue might not be working alone and they have no clue who the other conspirators are. While all this is going on, Harper is stuck with planning a "shindig" to celebrate the 150 year anniversary of the Underground (a private area in Las Vegas that's just for Demons) as well as Harper becoming Knox's mate and co-Prime. Also, Harper is having to deal with some issues with people feeling she's not good enough for Knox and (for some unknown reason) thinking they have the right to tell Harper as much. Since the main perpetrators are women that clearly just want Knox, their attitudes don't affect Harper because she's smart enough to recognize that the women are just being spiteful witches and don't really matter to her and Knox. Knox and Harper manage to handle the issues confronting them (at least mostly, there's bit left to be dealt with in the next book) and the story ends with Knox and Harper continuing their HEA together.

This was a highly enjoyable story. I really love Harper as a heroine...she's smart and feisty and doesn't let anyone push her around. Knox is big and bad but I really like him as well...and he's not as mean as he pretends to be (at least for Harper). Overall, I thought the story was great and the characters really help make the story stand out. I'd definitely recommend this story. :)

note - The narrator did an alright job but I didn't think her voice really fit what I imagines Harper's voice would sound like. It didn't ruin the book but it didn't help either.

Great Story, Horrible Narration

Luckily, I read the book & it's a fantastic story but I could not finish the audio version. The narration is awful. I wish Jill Redfield did this series too. :(

Live the story of demon shifters Knox & Harper!

I loved this book. It's a great fantasy take you away from reality sort of book. Interesting perspective on the demon shifters VS regular animal shifters books that I've read.

Better off reading this series!

The narrator of this series is awful she basically ruins the story with her whiny annoying voices. The actual book is pretty good but you can’t enjoy it because the narrator ruins it. Reading the whole book monotone would have been an improvement over that whiny voice. Anyway I thought the 2nd book in the series was better than the first but don’t waste your $ on an audiobook just read it.

Lovin' it!

OK , so I don't normally like books about demons...I'm more of an aliens gal. HOWEVER, the Suzanne Wright Dark In You series is outstanding! Hot guys, hot sex and true love. Kudos Suzanne! These books are great on audio, as well as great reads.

And that's why I love you.

Blaze is the second book in the Dark in You Series. Harper and Knox are finally together and should be ready to start their happily ever after. Unfortunately, Harper is now adjusting to her new life as co-Prime. When adversaries are all around trying to drag Knox and Harper down, they must be faithful to each other and be willing to do whatever it takes to overcome.

Told in dual POV, Blaze is even more intense than the first book in the series. As Knox is determined to keep Harper safe, we see a power struggle continue to grow between the happy couple. Harper is one of the strongest heroines I have ever read and the way in which she finds the balance between loving Knox and staying true to herself is nothing short of perfection. In addition to the smoking hot passion between Knox and Harper, the action is complex as the battle for power continues to dominate every page!

Overall, I cannot say enough about Blaze and the entire Dark in You Series. Suzanne Wright has always been one of my go-to authors. Her complex characters, passionate romance, and expertly crafted plots never cease to blow me away! Be forewarned, this series is addictive!
