Not the best time travel book- 2.5 stars

This book was just barely okay to me. I thought it was strange story line. I also felt like there was too much filler in the book and found myself skipping several chapters without missing anything. There is sex in this book and a lot of dialogue which I did like. But overall the story wasn't that great.

I don't think I will read anymore of the books in this series.
The narration was not very good. It is better if you listen to it on 1.25 speed.
Credit Worthy? Not really.

Great Story

was not sure at first. not a huge fan of time travel. But it is a great story. Steamy with Love.

Epic adventure

I loved this book, the storyline is gripping and fast paced. There's danger, romance excitement and I was on the edge of my seat through it all.

Entertaining story, awful narration

It’s difficult to get past the narration. The man doing feminine voices is terrible it sounds like he’s mocking them. Like how a child makes fun of the way people speak. It’s cringeworthy.
That said, the story is fun and entertaining and kept me listening to the awful narration.

Prepare to be Disappointed

Well, now I'm pissed. I was sceptical when I started this series because I'm more of an epic fantasy reader than a romance fan. After reading the intro and some of the reviews I decided to give the books a chance.
SPOILER ALERT! Here I will only say that the 4th and 5th book end with cliffhangers that are never resolved - so if you like this series, stick with books 1-3.
SPOILER FOLLOWS:
By the end of the 3rd book I thought things were winding down to a close, tying up loose ends in preparation to finish in the last book. I wondered why there were 2 more books, but assumed they would be more like "stand alone" love stories about some of the younger family members. I was surprised when book 4 ended with a time travel cliffhanger, and I was eager to download book 5 for a resolution.
Did I recheck reviews to see what readers thought of the final audio book in the series? No. But I WILL go back to add these comments to my review of the 1st book in the series. Just to spare other listeners. my frustration.
The Author introduces 2 new time traveling protagonists, as well as an entire society or group from the future dedicated to preserving the Mccoinich family line. It reveals a darkness inside the heroine that dates back to the defeat of the dark witch Granyae (sp¿) in book 3, tells us that she may have had a child and has evil descendants, and a dark prophesy that may be fulfilled by either of the 3 couples in the final book - or even by the 2 new bad guys..... but isn't because it is NEVER FINISHED!
If these audiobooks weren't free with my subscription I'd absolutely be returning them for a refund.
In addition hardly believe the author intends to finish this series because in 2019 she created and markets the first 3 books in the series as a trilogy set.
Disappointed. I will never read another book by this "Best Selling* author if this is an example of how she treats her readers and characters.
If the audiobooks weren't rated individually I'd have given a lower rating, but I LIKED the story and would have liked to hear the rest of it.

Horrible Female voices, for a Lustful Story

The story kept me interested until the end and the narrator does have an over all nice reading voice but he needs vocal training on how to read for a female voice badly. The narrator's female voice is between a whining, bratty, 5yr old boy, and a old croon that nags.

At the start of the book, he made the friend use this horrid voice and the main character used an audibly acceptable voice. Once the friend was out of the picture he switched the main character to that voice that is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Because of the beginning of the audible book he demonstrated he can make a female voice sound human, so now I hesitate to listen to the rest of the series because I dread hearing that irritating fake female voice again.

The book is a shadow of the book The Outlander with a modern twist and mixed with magic. The historical details are lacking compared to the other book but because of magic I am willing to give it the fantasy leniency that it all could be a parallel universe to ours.

Binding Vows

This is a time travel series. In book one Tara is dragged to a Renaissance festival by her best friend. It is supposed to be just a long weekend away from everyday matters. But all is not as it seems. She ends up being the guest of honor because somehow the gypsy has figured out that she is a virgin. A twenty three year old virgin. Then she meets Duncan. A man who seems out of place in her time. His mannerisms and speech are from Scotland but is it modern or past? When to save her life he takes her to his home. Some 500 years in the past. Can a modern woman survive this new world? What of the evil that brought them together? Will they get the peace or will they perish? I enjoyed the narration of this story and am set to get the others.

Entertaining and enjoyable

A fun story that brought many chuckles.
Stories like this make me want to travel through time.
Being a decade long volunteer at a Renaissance Fair this book had an added entertainment value.
Worth the listen.

Cute, light and fairytale like

This book kept bringing to mind High school fairytale fantasy. But without any moral lesson or social insight. PG rating. female voice is poor. but the male voice was good . I imagine it could be escapism for a frustrated teenager.From an older readers perspective.

Why are heroines so dumb

I have to say the heroine is a complete moron she gets bad feelings but still do what is telling her not to do and this is over and over I just can’t picture anyone really that stupid? No idea the story would have been better if the writer knew how to make the heroine seem naive not stupid not sure if just the writing style it just got on my nerves I really liked the narrator he did a good job with voices
