Publisher's summary

Jenna O'Conner is not human, nor is she considered the norm for the supernatural Other community that is benevolent enough to share this world with the humans. On her first day as a member of the Wilmington Police Department's SWAT Team, Jenna runs into trouble in the form of a deadly, mouthwatering man named Adam McPhee, who is also not human. He is determined to figure out exactly what Jenna is, which could very well put her life in danger. Furthermore, he is determined to have her all to himself.

As if that weren't enough for Jenna to deal with, a group of extremist Shifters who consider humans to be cattle and who think that factions of Others should stay within their own species - never to intermingle - come to town. Jenna has to find a way to shut them down, but in the process of trying to do that, she discovers things about herself that even she had never thought were possible. Contains mature themes.

HORRIBLE NARRATOR!!

What did you like best about Big Bad Bite? What did you like least?

The story is great

Would you recommend Big Bad Bite to your friends? Why or why not?

to read, not to listen to.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Every male character sounds as if they are suffering from dementia. She does the male characters so slowly that moments that should have been tense just seemed dull.

What an amazing story

This was a thrill to listen to it really was. The only down side to the book was the narrator. She made the male voices sound creepy and pretty much all the same. I know that when narrators have to read a character that isn't their own gender they do a pretty good job of it but Ms Skyye made the male characters sound unappealing and unattractive.

The author did a beautiful job of writing the story and it was a true joy to listen to. I could hardly stop. I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series. I can't wait to see what new characters and plot twist Jessica Lane will throw our way. I will hope that Ms. Skyye will not be reading the remaining books after book 2.

Entertaining

It has it flaws: the main male character was very one dimensional and the main female character has a not like other girls attitude at some points in the story but overall the plot was good. It was very funny and kept my interest.

A fun building block to more adventures~

An interesting start to a new series of paranormal shifters and more.

Jenna is one bad ass woman. Not only is she a mix of wolf and demon but a member of a swat team.
Her life till she moves has been a very sheltered one. She is ignorant of the paranormal world around her which only makes this a bit more interesting to read.
Her world gets turned upside down and around when she meets Adam, the alpha of the local wolf pack along with her current partner on the swat squad.
Let's just say the author has given us quite a few interesting characters to think about for future books. I found this to be a pretty solid and informative beginning for what is sure to be a fun series

Great story bad narrator

I really liked the story but forgot how badly I dislike the male voices the narrator did so it makes it really hard to listen to it again the story itself is so great that it's really starting to upset me that I can't really listen to it because of the narrator's voice doing really bad jobs with the males she does a wonderful job as far as females but her male voices just sound like some little kid pretending to be a man

Good Bite

Good story. I enjoy shifter stories and the addition of demons and “others” spiced up the story nicely. I began with reading the book and switched to audible (no time to sit but had to keep the story going!). The narrator was great for the female voices but seriously lacking when it came to the male voices. She spoke so slowly, I had to up the speed to 1.25x so it didn’t drive me nuts! This is one of the few books I preferred to read rather than listen to. I must say I’m definitely diving right into the next book in the series, it’s part of the escape package so I’m hoping Chandra has upped her game with the male voices since I don’t have time to read and I have to continue on the journey with these colorful characters!

This book is fantastic!

This book... my god the more I read it, the more I freaking love it! #ForeverTeamJenna

I'm still all over the place. In a good way. (Laughs)

I love Jenna. Home girl is a bad-ass in a few ways. She doesn't take sh*t off anyone. So when the poor sheltered shifter moves from her small town in NC to Wilmington and becomes a member, the only female officer of the Wilmington SWAT team her life changes and quickly.

Her mama and uncle always told her to stay hidden, the others community wouldn't approve of her. Some would want to kill her for what she was. Why you ask? Because homegirl is a bad-ass hybrid. Not your run of the mill human/shifter kind either. Oh no, Jenna has enough juju in her to shake the ground. If she was given that choice.

So when she finds out her SWAT team partner is a Demon, she tries to get away and think this all over. Then Adam, alpha of NC shows up. And the fun really begins. But Jenna, always a warrior decides she is not letting a damn demon and a wolf run her off. So she sets up ground rules.... but then when her uncle shows up and all but hands her her ass things get fun.

Not only is Adam her mate, he's head over heals as is she. Even if she wants to fight it. The trouble that comes to town however puts them all in danger. Shifters and demons unite, to kick butt and make it known they're not going to let things go the way others want.

Let the games begin!

And they do! Again, I love Jenna. She's a spitfire. Home girl is sassy and deadly with her gun. And lord knows she gives all the men in her life now trouble.... especially the tiger... poor Alex... Lol #Cantsaymore go read it now!!!!

meh

The narator did good with female voices, but males not so much (she talks to slow when she does male voices). Great book, but needs a new narrator.

Great Shifter Series

I'm not going to go into details of what the book is about since the summary gave a decent book description. I've listened to this book and the second one in the series. I can't wait for the third book. The narrator did a good job for the most part. The male voices could be better at times, but they could also be a lot worse. There was a good balance of action, humor and romance. I would definitely recommend this book.

narrative

I think the narrator has a beautiful voice, it's her men's voices are not that good.
