BEST LAID PLANS

This book is like something N.R. wrote in the 1980's. The narrator has a voice that belongs in cartoons. A disappointment.

Narrator stinks!

The narrator ruined this book for me. I couldn't get through the first chapter because I just couldn't stand it. Can't tell you anything about the book, which is a shame because I usually love Nora Roberts. Shouldn't these narrators audition for someone to determine if they have a talent for it first?

Change your plans, this is not the best

I am a very big fan of Nora Roberts so I surprised myself that I am giving this such a low rating. This must be some of her really early work because the story is so sappy and predictable. That wasn't bad enough adding to the trouble is the narrator's voice. She was so irritating that I found it VERY difficult to listen. It was a chore to get to the end. I can only say I'm glad it is over. Save your money and credits.

Im glad to see that NR got better in time...

First the narrator was just find. She has the unfortunate voice that sounds like she’s laughing and talking at the same time. I’m a man and not afraid to admit that I’ve enjoyed most of NR newer books. I don’t when she wrote this book, but it’s quite clear they didn’t have fact checkers back then and that really made it hard for me to get into it.
I worked in construction for 27 years and I found myself cringing every time they screwed up the facts. The first thing is architects and engineers are almost never on the job site. But the most obvious screw up is when they claim to save money using 12 wire over 14 wire and that is eternally impossible because the lower the # for the wire size is, the larger the wire is and in turn, more expensive. Also wire size does not make it “inferior” possibly inadequate. I guess if you aren’t familiar with actual construction the story would be much better. I know for my part I’m going to stick to Nora’s newer books.

Narrator needs replaced!

The narrator could not even consistantly pronounce the main character's name - sometime it was Aaa-bra (with a short A sound), other times it was Ah-bra (with an Ahh sound). I could hardly wait to get to my computer to read the publisher's summary to see how her name is spelled!!!

stay away from this one

Couldn't even listen past the first few minutes. Never heard a worse narrator. Waste of money and time.

Cute Story

This was a nice story. First Nora Roberts book I have listened to and it was good enough to have me listen to more of them. It's definitely a simple story, predictable but nice. That being said, the narrator is just awful! I almost didn't finish listening to this book because of her. The voice is harsh and hurts your ears and her narration is rushed and unpleasant.
