Editorial Reviews

Narrated with steamy titillation by Simone Lewis, Berr’s Vow is a hot, sexy, and sometimes silly, story about a smart-talking woman, Shanna, who is abducted by terribly scary aliens and is forced to live as a captive sex slave on the planet Zorn, and interact with Zorn’s scumbag leader, Hyvin Berrr.

Thankfully, Simone is rescued by a brave Zorn warrior with the heart of a lion, and who also, again thankfully, happens to be a massively sexy hunk of epic proportions.

You may want to listen to this one in the privacy of your own bedroom….

Publisher's Summary

Kidnapped from Earth and transported to planet Zorn to be sold as a sex slave, Shanna is one angry, frightened woman ready to fight anyone who tries to touch her. Raised in foster care, she’s not going to take any crap off some alien men no matter how big, terrifying or muscular they are. Before she can be sold, she’s freed by a huge, sexy Zorn warrior... a warrior with the most beautiful blue eyes she’s ever seen. Shanna demands he take her under his protection when she realizes she’s stuck on Zorn.

Hyvin Berrr, the leader of Zorn, thinks humans are helpless and weak. Shanna decides to teach the big hunk he’s wrong by knocking him on his backside. He might think she’s playing but she’s trying to teach him a lesson. She’s not sure if she wants to fight her feelings for the sexy alien, though if a woman has to lose a battle, this just might be the one time to concede.

5 Berrr's Vow Stars

Yes, yes, yes! I am soooo glad we got Hyvin Berrr’s story. He really needed a HEA. After what he has been through he deserved to find someone who wanted to be with him and who makes him happy.

I really liked that Shanna isn’t meek, she is a strong willed human who fights for what she wants. I think she is perfect for the leader of the Zorn people.

There are other warriors I would like to see books from. I am sad that there only seems to be one more novella left of this series.

I am a huge fan of Simone Lewis’s narration of this series she really made each character unique.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Loved it!

This fourth audiobook in the Zorn warriors series was about the great Hyvin Berr, father to the heroes in the first three books and leader of all Zorn. He was, if you remember, rather outspoken about not allowing his son Ral to bound with his human Ariel which caused lots of problems. In closing down an illegal slave selling on his planet he meets the heroine, Shawna a girl, whose had a tough life. There are many obstacles for them, the biggest being he already has a bound woman. The narration was performed very well.

Berrr and Shona

I very much enjoyed the relationship between the ruler of Zorn, Berrr, and the earth woman Shona. They had many problems that needed fixing before they could maintain a romance. I totally loved the way Shona solved Berrr's bounding catastrophe so they could be together legallyas a couple.

Zion Warriors great series

Loved all the books in this series. Great characters, and stories. Each story different, but besides the steamy hot scenes, it was funny, and I hope Ms. Downer doesn't stop. I am really hopping for Vin, the sexy red head to have his own story. The only thing that bugged me was in Casey's and Brendas book when the narrator sounded like she was sucking on some candy, and it was very obvious when she swallowed. But it wasn't in all the books so I still give all the books 5 stars.

King of Zor (married) falls for kidnap earth girl.

Same premise as other books. Anglo american earth girl is kidnapped by traveling aliens to sell the ZOR aliens/warriors due to their known lust for wanting to having sex with white american earth females. The King of ZOR (father to the lead alien males in the other previous books) is bound to his arranged married wife. The two strongest families made the two married & produce 4 sons & 3 daughters. The king's wife was resentful of being force to be bound & reproduce when she loved another. When the king's children grew up & left home. His wife demanded to leave to pursue happiness for herself & the one she loved. HOWEVER, ZOR is a male driven, lust filled culture. There is no divorce and neither the king or his wife are able to be bound to anyone else. The king's wife leaves & lives with her lover. The lover tries to kill the king so he can be bound to his love. But, the king in self defense kills his wife's lover. She hates the king & makes him promise to be bound to her forever to punish him. However in ZOR males still has sex with many females they want. The males just can't have children with females they are not bound to. Population control. The king falls for a rescue anglo american earth woman that was snatched by a slave trader alien. Zor has laws against slaves.. The anglo earth woman grew up on the rough side of the tracks & had a cheating abusive husband & family. She tries to show the king that earth anglo females are not all weak. She gets into fights with other alien females jealous that alien males want earth women over thier own kind. Her basic fighting skills keep her from getting killed. (Funny the earth has more females of asian descent& non anglo skin which is 90% of world population but, anglo american females are the ones ZOR warriors keep grabbing.. hmmm) anyway the king ( was upset his top 3 son's are breeding/bounding with earth females. The king feels that this will produce weak grandchildren watering down his blood line of the strongest ZOR) But, the king falls for the spunky trash talking female he rescues & makes her one of his many house servants ( which clean, cook and perform sex) Problems occur when ZOR females get jealous & the king's wife returns when the first (mixed) grandchild is born.. I hope the dark skinned zor warrior friend with red hair gets an earth woman of color (dark skinned).. More believable if there is a 4 th book.. Anyway, this book & the series was/is worth the price. Stories are nice & nice long with lots of action fights scenes.. However, final personal thought...If aliens come to earth, would they hit the biggest land massse. Asia or Africa?? Talk about race of people with fighting skills.. Breeding with soft skinned earth females that can survive in tough environments would be found in ANY 3rd world country... Just a thought.. Still great erotic fantasy series.

A somewhat entertaining story

Would you try another book from Laurann Dohner and/or Simone Lewis?

I have read several of Laurann's books. I like the New Species the best. I thought Simone did a very good job in this audio.

What was most disappointing about Laurann Dohner’s story?

This had some potential but I find Shana's character a little annoying. I am all for a strong female character but sometimes in these Zorn stories, that is all that defines the woman lead character. There is very little mixture of both hard and soft. It is like in these stories, Laurann has a difficult time balancing the two. I sometimes did not understand why Berr cared so much for Shana. Except for being a human woman, I did not find anything in her character that would attract him to her. She was always mouthy, cursing, and always had an attitude. So, while i am for being a strong woman, there has to be more to the character than that. I sometimes found myself skipping ahead because Shana would start complaining yet again about the same things. I think Laurann did a great job with the third story in this series. I felt the female lead was much more balanced.

Which scene was your favorite?

The love scenes between Berr and Shana were nice.

Any additional comments?

I would like it if Laurann could reduce the foul language. I wrote this before but I am not sure it is necessary to use such language just to make the characters tough. I really like her work overall and because I listen to many of her books, I do get to hear the curse words often. After a while, it starts to grate on the nerves.
